About GreenPan
We believe cookware is an essential ingredient for healthy cooking. As the inventors of ceramic nonstick, we’re proud of what we don’t put in our pans. Our ceramic nonstick is not just easy to clean, it’s free of PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium, so every meal you make will be a little healthier, too. Whether you’re cooking a quick breakfast or a complicated dinner, our ceramic nonstick makes meals easier. Healthy cooking starts with GreenPan.
USE
First:
- Remove all packaging materials and labels. Please recycle.
- Wash in warm soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Cooking Tips:
For best stovetop results:
- Depending on your stovetop, low to medium heat may be sufficient for best results. We do not recommend higher heat than necessary, or high heat for prolonged periods, as it may affect the longevity of your nonstick coating.
- Use a burner that is similar in diameter to the base of the pan.
- When cooking on gas, adjust the flame so it does not flare up the sides of the pan.
Tip from Our Kitchen: Remove food from the refrigerator 10 minutes before you intend to start cooking.
Cooking oils and fats
- Due to the excellent heat conductivity of our pans and the Thermolon™ coating, food and oil can burn or carbonize rapidly. Cook on low to medium heat. Save high heat for searing and browning.
- We recommend using a small amount of cooking fat or oil with our pans, particularly oils with a high smoke point, such as refined olive oil, peanut oil, corn oil, clarified butter, or ghee.
- Do not use low smoke point oils or spray oils. These will burn onto nonstick surfaces.
- Distribute oil evenly on the surface of the pan.
- If food sticks to the pan during cooking, add a small amount of water. The moisture will create steam to release any remaining food.
Utensils
- We recommend using plastic, silicone, or wooden utensils to preserve the pan’s cooking surface. For metal utensil safety, refer to the product’s packaging.
- Do not use sharp objects to cut food in pans.
- Avoid using force to strike the rim or surface of the cookware to prevent chipping.
Induction Stovetop Troubleshooting:
If a pan is not recognized by an induction stovetop, try the following:
- Use an appropriately sized burner. For induction cookware to work, the bottom of the pot or pan must come into contact with the outer edge of the burner. If the burner used is larger than the cookware, it may not heat properly.
- Try a smaller burner. If a burner matching the base of the cookware is not available, select a smaller burner.
- Go to the edge. Try aligning the cookware on the outermost points of the burner to promote contact between the base and the induction coil.
- Consult the instructions and maintenance manual for the induction stovetop. Check which diameter pot or pan is suitable for which burner.
Care and cleaning
- Allow the pan to cool, then clean it thoroughly after each use.
- We recommend hand washing your cookware in warm, soapy water to preserve the cooking surface. For dishwasher safety, refer to the product’s packaging.
- For best results, clean with a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use steel wool or nylon scrubbing pads.
- Do not use oven cleaner, abrasive cleaners, or cleaners containing chlorine bleach.
- When using high heat in combination with cooking fats and oil, carbonization can form on the nonstick coating, which weakens a pan’s performance. If this happens, remove food debris, boil water in the pan and then let cool. Wash with warm soapy water.
- For more severe burns, wash with a melamine sponge. Pour a shallow pool of warm water into the pan and rub in a circular motion.
- Slight surface marks and discolorations developed over time are normal and will not affect the performance of the coating.
