TO ATTACH/DETACH BATTERY PACK
Always switch off the unit before removing the battery
a. To open the battery compartment (Fig. 2a):
Lift up the battery compartment latch first, then open the battery compartment.
b. To attach the battery pack (Fig. 2b):
Align the raised rib on the battery pack with the grooves in the unit, and
then slide the battery pack onto the unit.
NOTICE: When placing the battery pack onto the unit, be sure that the
raised rib on the battery pack aligns with the groove inside the unit and that
the latches snap into place properly. Improper attachment of the battery pack
can cause damage to internal components.
- To detach the battery pack (Fig. 2b): Depress the battery-release button located on the front of the battery pack, to release the battery pack. Pull the battery pack out and remove it from the unit.

Close battery compartment cover and hold it, then press the battery compartment latch.
TO INSTALL COIN CELL BATTERY (FIG. 3a &3b)

Your unit is equipped with memory function in order to store the time and your
preset radio stations. When the unit is in the OFF position, this memory
function is powered by one coin cell battery that is included with the unit.

screwdriver (not included) to remove the screw and the battery door.

USING SUPPLIED AC POWER ADAPTOR
Insert the AC power adaptor plug into the DC socket on the back side of the
radio.
Whenever the power adaptor is used, the battery pack is automatically
disconnected. The AC adaptor should be disconnected from the power outlet when
not in use.
NOTE: The battery pack cannot be charged using the power adaptor. The
battery packs can in this manual.
POSITIONABLE FLEXIBLE ANTENNA
To decrease interference or static noise, rotate the antenna or move the unit to a higher elevation. The antenna folds down and out of the way when not in use.
SWITCHING THE UNIT ON AND OFF (FIG. 5)
Switching on:
Press the On/Off knob and hold for 2 seconds. The unit switches on. The background illumination of the display lights up.
Switching off:
Press the On/Off knob and hold for 2 seconds.

STANDBY MODE (FIG. 6)
When the unit is switched on, briefly press On/ Off knob , the unit switches to standby mode and back light disappears. During standby mode, briefly press On/Off knob to switch on the unit. During standby mode any function is unavailable except the LED light.
NOTICE:
When in standby mode, the unit will turn off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity
SETTING THE TIME
During any mode, press the CLOCK button to set the time. The numbers blink in
this order: hour> minute> month> date> year.
Press the or button to change each value. Press the CLOCK button to switch to
the next setting
To save the time settings press the clock button again. If you don’t press it
again and don’t press any other button for 10 seconds, the procedure is
interrupted and the changes you’ve made are discarded.
SETTING THE VOLUME (FIG. 7 )
To increase the volume, rotate the volume knob clockwise. To reduce it, turn
the knob to the left.
Briefly press the mute button to mute the sound. Briefly press mute button
again or rotate the volume knob to unmute the sound.
TONE ADJUSTMENT (FIG. 8)
The low frequency (bass) boost can be turned on or off:
Briefly press the BASS button. When the bass boost function is on, the BASS
symbol lights up.

SELECTING THE OPERATING MODE (FIG. 9)
Briefly press the MODE button for selecting the operating mode until the
desired mode is displayed.
The following operating modes are available:

Playback of music source connected via Bluetooth®

FM Radio reception The active operating mode is shown by means of the corresponding symbol on the top of the display.
BLUETOOTH OPERATING MODE (FIG. 10)
Activate the Bluetooth® operating mode with the
MODE button or press the Bluetooth button . Activate the Bluetooth function on
the device to be connected (smartphone or similar) and
select “FLEX FX5351” as the target of the Bluetooth connection. For this
purpose, follow the instructions in the operating manual of the paired device
(smartphone or similar).
Single press or button to change to previous or next song.
Press button to pause or play.
NOTICE:
- To disconnect (forget) the Bluetooth device after successful pairing, press the button and hold for 3 seconds. The paired device is

AUX OPERATING MODE: IN/OUT (FIG. 11)
Select the AUX operating mode using the
MODE button.
Remove the rubber cover from the AUX IN connector and connect the external
music source (MP3 player or similar) using the included AUX cable. Switch on
the external music source and start the playback.
Set the volume with the regulator for the external music source or the volume
knob of the unit.
An external speaker or headphones can be connected to the AUX OUT connector.
Switch on the unit and audio will be output to the external speaker or
headphones. You can also briefly press the mute button to mute the sound

- Batteries of the connected devices cannot be charged via the AUX
- When the unit is switched off, the connected devices are not switched
After using AUX or USB connectors, replace the rubber covers to protect the connectors against dust, dirt or moisture.
CHARGING EXTERNAL DEVICES VIA THE
USB PORT (FIG. 12)
Insert the USB plug of the device to be charged into the USB port of the unit.
The USB power output port is a connection port for powering low power devices
such as cellular phones, MP3 players, etc. Immediately disconnect the USB
device after charging.
NOTE:
- No music playback available via USB
After using the USB port, replace the rubber cover to protect the port against dust, dirt or moisture
LED LIGHT (FIG. 13)
When the unit is turned on, the LED will default to light the display. You can
view the time, radio frequency, and the operating mode on the LED display.
Press the LED button, LED display will be turned off.
Press the LED button again, LED display will be turned on.
TUNING AM AND FM
The left and right arrow buttons and the MODE button are used to tune to the
desired radio frequency. The selected frequency is shown on the display.
Press the MODE button until AM or FM is highlighted.
Manual tuning: Briefly press the or button to set the desired
frequency. Each press will increase or decrease 0.1MHZ for FM, 10kHz for AM.
The frequency is shown on the display.
Scan Tuning: Press the or button and hold for 3 seconds, the tuner
frequency will increase to seek the first radio station with strong signal and
stop at that station. The frequency is shown on the display. The right arrow
button may be pressed for 3 second again to continue seeking a radio station
at higher frequencies. The left arrow button may be pressed to seek radio
stations at lower frequencies.
SYSTEM RESET (FIG. 15)
Briefly press the MODE button to select the Bluetooth operation mode. Press the button and hold on for 8 seconds to enter into the factory reset function interface. All stored data in the device will be cleared and restored to the original settings.
MOUNTING THE UNIT TO A TRIPOD
(NOT INCLUDED)
Choose a suitable tripod with 5/8” screw, thread the 5/8” screw into the tripod mounting hole on the unit (Fig. 1).

This 5-Year Limited Warranty does not apply to accessories, attachments or

Any implied warranties applicable to a product shall be limited in duration
