Unpacking and checking

You should find the following items in the packaging*. Please make sure they are undamaged and in good working order.

The built-in battery capacity indicator function is more accurate when the

batteries leave in charger in idle mode for more than a day.
^Press and hold the round button to check the battery capacity (Fig. 4).

**Charging time is subject to the power rating of USB adapter and ambient temperature.

Charging instructions

Read the instruction manual thoroughly before use. Keep the manual for future reference.

  1. Connect the micro USB end of the USB cable to the micro USB port of the battery charger (Fig. 1a).

  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a 5V / 2A wall charger (Fig.1b) or similar USB port (Use 5V / 2A GP USB cable & wall charger for optimum performance).

  3. Insert 1–4 pcs NiMH batteries into the battery charger according to the battery polarity (Fig. 2). Charging will commence and the LED indicators will show the charging status of the batteries (Fig. 3 and Table 1).
    The LED indicators will flash green when the batteries are charging.
    For bad or single-use batteries, the LED indicators will flash red rapidly. Remove these batteries from the charger.

  4. To check the battery capacity, press and hold the round button (Fig. 4 and Table 1).

  5. For charging via charger dock, please refer to the instruction manual of corresponding GP 4-slot (D451 & D461) / 8-slot (D851 & D861) NiMH USB Dock with LCD.

For best performance and safety, always use GP NiMH batteries.

Usage tips

  • It is normal for batteries to become hot during charging and they will gradually cool down to room temperature after fully charged.
  • Remove batteries from the electrical device if the device is not going to be used for a long time.
  • Battery storage temperature: -25 ~ +60°C
  • Charging operation temperature: 0 ~ +35°C
  • When fast-charging 2 batteries, place them in position 1 & 3 (or 2 & 4) to leave space for cooling and avoiding overheating (Fig. 5).

Safety information

  • This charger is designed to charge NiMH batteries only. Charging other batteries may lead to explosion, battery rupture or leakage, personal injury or property damage.
  • This charger is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose the charger to rain, snow or direct sunlight.
  • Do not use the charger in humid conditions.
  • Make sure the charger is used between 0 ~ +35°C.
  • Do not use non-rechargeable, LiFePO4, NiCD or Li-ion batteries.
  • Once the batteries are fully charged, recommend to remove the batteries and disconnect the battery charger from the power supply.
  • Do not use the charger if the plug is damaged.
  • Do not use the charger after it has been dropped or damaged. Do not open/disassemble the charger.
  • In case a battery sleeve is damaged do not use it in the charger.
  • Never remove the outer sleeve from batteries.
  • Please use the charger in a well-ventilated place and ensure there are no other items covering the charger to avoid overheating. Do not stack-up multiple chargers while charging.
  • This charger is maintenance-free but should be wiped clean regularly with a dry and soft cloth. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Unplug the charger before cleaning.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
