Introduction
This Manual will take you to step by step on installing Bosch Telematics on HINO 392/401 Vehicles.
Getting started
The table below contains the needed tools and parts for the Bosch telematics setup.
Pre-Installation
- Record ESN Number
- ESN Label is located on the bottom of The Device (USS8990-009)
- Record VIN Number
- VIN Number is on the label located on the driver door jam
Bosch Telematics Installation Steps
Step 1 – Install Telematics Antenna (USS8990-010) on the Bracket (US89539-003)
Notes:
- Screws are parts of the Antenna Kit (USS8990-010)
Step 2: Install the bracket (US89539-001) on the Bracket 82715-E5D21
Notes:
- US89539-001 will be installed only in the case of halogen light.
Step 3: Install the Step 1 Assembly on the Bracket 82715-E5D21
Notes:
- US89539-001 will be installed only in the case of halogen light.
- A halogen light controller will be installed only in the case of halogen light.
Step 4: Install the Telematics Module (USS8990-009) into Bracket (US89539-002)
Notes:
Installation sequence:
- Compress the locking springs against the locking pins
- Insert the locking taps into the locking holes
- 8954C-E0010 Can be installed only in the case of HYDRO BRAKES.
Step 5: Install the Step 3/4 Assemblies on the ECU Rack
Notes:
- The dash and the rest of its components are not shown for clarity

Step 6: Telematics Antenna wires and Jumper harness installation
Notes:
-
The jumper harness will get connected to the telematics module and the
Cab main harness. -
The Telematics Antenna wires will connect to the Telematics module.

Notes:
- The telematics antenna wires connectors’ color must match the color of the telematics module connectors.
For Example
The blue Telematics Antenna wire connector must be connected with the blue connector in the Telematics Module.
