Attention:
- Despite careful manufacturing, sharp edges can occur on the two long sides of the mounting plate. Please handle the sheet there with the appropriate care.
- New Hdd must be formatted before use.

Hardware Installation Guide
STEP 1:
Open the case by loosening the two screws on the back. Pull the inner part out to the rear.
STEP 2:
Place the hard drive on the metal base and carefully slide the hard drive against the SATA connector on the circuit board until it is firmly connected.
STEP 3:
Turn the hard disk over and screw the hard disk from the bottom against the metal base.
STEP 4:
Carefully place the metal lower part in the guide rails provided on the left and right side of the housing and screw the two screws back on.
The assembling process is now accomplished.
HDD Formatting Guide
- New hard disks have to be formatted, before you can use them.
- Connect the FANTEC DB-F35U3 via USB 3.0 to your PC’s with USB 3.0, USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 interface.
- Then turn the power on.
STEP1:
Right-click on “My Computer” icon and select the “Manage” column.
STEP2:
Select “Disk Management” and you will see your External HOD showed “Unallocated”.
STEP3:
Right-Click on the “Unallocated” bock and select “New Partition”.
STEP4:
The “New Partition Wizard” will appear. Please follow the instruction of the wizard to complete.
STEPS:
When partitioning is completed, the external HDD will be recognized as a “New Volume”.
STEP6:
Double-click “My Computer” You will see the new volume appears on your PC.
