General Notes and Operation
Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:
- Only use the polishing sponges for polishing, rubbing/repairing as well as for mirror polishing suitable surfaces! Do not use the polishing sponges for purposes other than intended!
- Take care, that the polishing sponges are always sufficiently moistened. Running the sponges dry will overheat the sponges and discolour the work piece!
- Only use the polishing sponges with hand polishing machines with max. rotating speed of 8500 revolutions per minute.
Applications
Polishing Sponge white, 25 mm for normal finish and for mirror polishing,
Polishing Sponge yellow, 50 mm for abrasive rubbing compounds and polish with
abrasive particles,
Polishing Sponge red, 50 mm for normal polishing,
Polishing blue, 50 mm for mid abrasive polishing compounds or agents,
Polishing black, 50 mm for finishing polish without resp. very less abrasive
particles, perfect for dark, lightly weathered finish, for removing finish
unevenness, for polishing round surfaces and hollows.
General Hints for Polishing suitable Surfaces/ Car Finishes
- The polishing sponges are designed for polishing car finish and metal surfaces.
- Please observe the instructions from the manufacturer of the polishing agent. Do not use polishing agents on hot surfaces.
- Do not polish in direct sunlight.
- Do not turn the machine on before it contacts the surface you intend to polish.
- Use rubbing compounds only on heavily weathered finishes, because they contain very “coarse” abrasive particles.
- Polishes (with mild abrasives) are offered in a wide range of varieties, e.g. fresh finishes or finishes in various degrees of weathering or products combined with wax. Both products should not be used too often, because the surfaces are eroded every time the products are used. Usually the topcoat of modern cars is only 0.04 to 0.06 mm thick.
- Always polish larger surfaces in sections of about one square metre. Apply the polishing agent evenly, leave for a while to react on and finally buff out the surface.
Using
- First screw the disc on the polishing machine and than place a polishing sponge on the hook and loop disc.
- Apply the polishing compound or the polishing agent on the sponge and start the polishing machine as soon as the sponge touches the surface to be polished. Do not force the sponge while operating.
Cleaning and Storing
- Thoroughly wash the polishing sponges after each use by hand at approx. 40°C and allow the sponges to air dry.
- Do not wash the polishing sponges in the washing machine. Do not dry the sponges in the dryer.
- Only wash the foam pads by hand and after each use.
- Do not squeeze the polishing sponges. Only lightly press down the sponges by hand to remove remaining water.
