The new Yale Doorman smart lock is equipped with an ABLOY BL907 lock body, which has been specially developed and manufactured in Finland for the Yale Doorman smart lock. The lock body and its steel bolt are coated with a special low friction coating for easy closing of the door. The surface of the bolt may show signs of wear over time, but this is no cause for worry because the coating fully retains its properties and your door will continue to open and close smoothly.

To check after installation

  • Check that the thumb turn locks and unlocks properly. If any of these is not working correctly you have not put the right/left switch and/or the right/left screw incorrect position. This switch and screw is located on the backside of the inside.
  • Check that the door locks from the outside with the -button and opens with the correct code/key tag.
  • Check that the trigger bolt doesn’t sink in the strike plate. The gap between the door and strike plate should be between 1,5 and 5,5 mm.
  • Check that the handle can move easily and when releasing the handle it should return to the horizontal position easily. If this is not the case, please check the length of the straight pin and if the product is assembled straight on the door since this can cause malfunction of the product.
  • Check that all codes and key tags and remotes (option) works correctly.
  • Make sure all users know about the function and location of the battery backup and reset button.
  • Check that the length of the bolt in the locked position is 20 mm (see pictures).
