The safety precautions enclosed reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt and carton. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of the appliance. Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when using an electrical appliance, including the following:
Electric Safety and Cord Handling

The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the benchtop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
No timer: The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or sepa-rate remote-control system.
Disconnect: Turn off and unplug the toaster from the outlet when it is not in use and before assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and storage. Grip the plug when disconnecting, do not pull the cord.

Make sure the crumb tray is properly in place before using the toaster (Fig.1).
It is located un-derneath the heating elements and can be pulled out from the side of the toaster opposite the browning control dial.
Place the toaster on a clean, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Make sure that no liquids or flammable objects are near the appliance.
Connect the toaster to a properly installed wall socket and switch on the power to the outlet. Set the browning level with the browning control dial (Fig.2).
The browning level may be adjusted before or straight after pressing down the toasting lever. Seven heating levels give you precise toasting results. Simply select your desired browning level based on your needs.
NOTE: When using the toaster for the first time, select setting 3, then adjust the setting for suc-cessive toast cycles according to your preference. (Use a lower setting for thin slices.)

Some tips for perfect toasting

Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying bread. As moisture levels differ from one bread to another, toasting times can vary.
For slightly dry bread, use a lower browning setting.
For fresh bread or wholemeal bread, use a higher setting.
Bread products with a very uneven surface (such as English muffins) will require a higher setting or press the BAGEL button for perfect results.
Thick-cut pieces of bread will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur.
When toasting raisin or other fruit bread, remove any loose raisins from the surface of the bread before placing the slices into the toaster. This will help prevent pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking on the guard wire in the slot.

FAQs and Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Solution
The toaster is not working 1.  Check the power connection and ensure the plug

is properly inserted in the outlet.

2.  Check the bottom of toaster. Whether the glass panel is fully installed well. You must ensure that it audibly ‘clicks’ securely into place, otherwise the

toaster will not work.

Bread is stuck in the toaster| Unplug the toaster and let it cool down. Then care- fully remove the slice or slices from the toaster. You may need to hold the toaster over a sink and shake it gently to help loosen stuck bread. Do not use metal objects to remove the bread. Do not touch the metal parts inside the toaster.

If the food was too thick, make sure to slice it a little thinner in future.

My bread slices don’t pop up enough after toasting| If your bread is too small to be removed from the toaster, simply lift the toasting lever to raise the car- riage to its uppermost position and then pick up the bread. If you still cannot carefully take it out, unplug the toaster and use thin, heat-resistant tongs to re- move the bread from the toasting slot.
The toast is too dark or too light| The selected browning level is too high or too low. Select a different setting.
The toaster emits smoke| The selected browning level is too high for the type of bread toasted. Press the CANCEL button to stop the toasting cycle.

Ensure the crumb tray is empty and clean. Check to make sure no large crumbs are caught in the slot.

Turn the unplugged unit upside down over the sink

and shake.

The toaster isn’t Working?
If you experience problems with your toaster, check the issues below to ensure it is properly as-sembled before you return the appliance to the place of purchase or phone our customer service line.
Make sure your toaster is securely plugged in and the power is switched on at the outlet. The toasting lever will not latch down if there is no power.
If you have recently cleaned the glass panel, make sure the panel is properly installed:

  • To remove the glass panel, hold the toaster with one hand and lightly tilt it backwards. With the other hand, press the latch at the underside and gently pull out the glass panel (see Fig.4). Wipe the panel clean.

  • To reinsert the glass panel, lay the toaster on its back, then hold the panel by the latch and carefully slide it back into the grooves at the side until it clicks securely into place.
    IMPORTANT!
When reinserting the glass panel, you must ensure that it audibly ‘clicks’ securely into place, otherwise the toaster will not work. When the panel ‘clicks’ into place, a safety switch is activated (see Fig.5).

  • This will ensure your toaster receives power the next time you connect it to your electricity supply.

  • Fig. 4 Gently pull out the glass panel in arrow direction.

  • Fig. 5 You must hear it click into place to activate the safety switch.

Care and Cleaning

WARNING!

  • Always disconnect the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely be-fore disassembling, cleaning and storage.
  • Never immerse the toaster, cord or plug in water or other liquid for cleaning.
  • Never clean the inside of the toaster, as this may damage the heating elements.
  • Never use a metal scouring pad, abrasive materials, metal polish, harsh chemical clean-ers or hard objects for cleaning any surface of the toaster.
  •  Wipe the outside surfaces and the cord with a soft, dry or slightly dampened cloth or sponge and a mild detergent.

Removes crumbs after each use.
Cleaning the crumb tray
It is important that you remove and clean the crumb tray frequently to avoid the risk of crumbs catching fire. The crumb tray is located underneath the heating elements and can be pulled out from the side of the toaster opposite the browning control knob.
Pull out the crumb tray completely.

Discard the crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a dry or damp cloth. To remove stubborn sports, use nylon or plastic scouring pad dampened in soapy water and squeezed almost dry. Make sure the tray is completely dry before inserting it back into the toaster. Do not put the crumb tray in the dishwasher. Cleaning the removable glass panel The center front of the toaster has a full view glass window, which lets you monitor the toasting progress. The inner panel of this window is removable. Hold the toaster with one hand and lightly tilt it backwards. With the other hand, press the latch at the underside and gently pull out the glass panel (Fig.4).
Wipe the panel clean, or wash it in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. To reinsert the glass panel, lay the toaster on its back, then hold the panel by the latch and care-fully slide it back into the grooves at the side until it clicks securely into place.

Storage
When not in use, store the toaster in a clean, dry place. Make sure the appliance is clean and dry, and disconnected from the power supply. We recommend storing the appliance in the original carton, which will protect it from dust. When storing the toaster, the power cord may be stored in the cord storage area underneath the base. Simply wind the power cord around the hooks.

If the toaster is damaged, do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the toaster yourself, as this will void the warranty. There are no spare parts available for purchase. Contact our cus-tomer service line to arrange for an examination or repair of the product.
