Cleaning the device

Disconnect the device prior to cleaning
Aggressive or intense cleaning agents and solvents are unsuitable
Make sure there is no residual moisture after cleaning
We recommend cleaning devices using a dry, anti-static cloth

SSD Installation

Attention : During the SSD installation the cabling of the enclosure has to be disconnected from the computer or notebook.

Push the slide button to unlock the inner frame. Slide out the inner frame to be able to install the SSD. Place your SSD carefully with the connector side first and at an angle of about 30° into the M.2 slot so that it fits without resistance. Now place the M.2 rubber mount on the semicir-cular notch at the end of the M.2 SSD and carefully press it down until it is locked into the PCB. Place the delivered thermal pad directly onto the M.2 SSD. Place the supplied heat sink on the thermal pad and carefully press it down.
Hint: Make sure that the heat sink is inserted in the correct direction.

Push the inner frame including SSD and heat sink into the housing. Make sure that the inner frame is locked in place.
Hint : Make sure that the inner frame points in the right direc-tion. Both arrows must point to the same side and be aligned with each other.

Usage

Connect the USB cable with the sole Type-C® connector to the M.2 enclosure
Connect the Type-C® or Type-A adapter of the USB cable to your host computer
Once the IB-1817MCT-C31 has been plugged in correctly the LED lights up white!
The external enclosure can be connected or disconnected while the computer is running.
Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting the device to avoid data lost.
A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the operation system to be displayed by the system.
If the drive is not recognized instantly by the operating system, please check: if the driver software is installed (USB). if the SSD is initialized, partitioned and formatted.

The full USB 3.1 (Gen 2) transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s can only be achie- ved with a compatible USB 3.1 (Gen 2) port on your host computer.

Write protection:
As soon as the write protection has been activated by switch, the LED lights up red!

ATTENTION! A change of the write protect mode only takes effect if the device has been disconnected and then reconnected to the host computer.
