This product is for indoor use only. DO NOT use outdoors.

Always unplug the unit before servicing or cleaning.
Extreme caution is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children or people with disabilities and whenever the appliance is left operating unattended.

Do not put any object into the openings or block the airflow to the unit.
DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged plug, if motor fan fails to rotate, after the appliance malfunctions, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void your warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only.
CAUTION: Do NOT use gasoline, benzene, thinner, harsh cleaners, etc. on and/or in the unit while cleaning as they will damage the product. NEVER use alcohol or other solvents.
WARNING: Skin or eye damage may result from directly viewing the light produced by the lamp in this apparatus. Always disconnect power before replacing lamp or servicing. Replace Lamp with Lamp Model No. LB200, Manufactured by GuardianTechnologies.

The 8 hour TWA Ozone for this product is 0.001 ppmv when tested in a 30 m3 chamber. The product complies with the maximum allowable concentration of ozone of 0.050 parts per million by volume (ppmv) in a 24-hour period. The Health Canada Guideline 2010 recommends that the maximum exposure limit, based on averaging time of 8 hours, is 0.020 ppmv or less when tested in a sealed, controlled room approximately 30 m3.

NOTE: THE PLUGGABLE UNIT CONTAINS NO SERVICEABLE PARTS EXCEPT ITS ALLERGEN FILTER (FLT200) AND UV-C BULB (LB200). THE FILTER AND BULB MAY BE REMOVED FOR REPLACEMENT.

HOW IT WORKS

Fan draws in air. Allergen filter captures airborne particles, such as dust mites, pollens, mold spores, debris and pet dander. UV-C light destroys the DNA of germs eliminating their ability to reproduce. Titanium Dioxide enhances killing efficiency and odor elimination. Cleaner air is released into the room.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Plug the unit into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
Turn power on by sliding up switch on side of unit.
UV-C light will run continuously when the unit is on.
Turn night light on/off by pressing switch on top of unit.
For best results continuous operation is recommended.

Essential oil option
A replaceable aroma pad is included if the addition of your favorite essential oil is desired.

Remove the front cover.
Remove the oil pad and add a few drops of an essential oil more or less may be used depending on your aroma strength preference.
Replace the oil pad into your unit.

FILTER REPLACEMENT

CHANGE FILTER INDICATOR
The night light on the top of the air cleaner will flash indicating that it is time to replace the filter. Replace the filter according to the directions then press the night light button and hold for 3 seconds to restart the system. The light will stop flashing. Depending on usage the filter will last approximately 3 months.

REPLACE FILTER

Turn off the unit.
Remove the unit from the outlet and remove the front cover by first pulling away from the tabs on the bottom of the unit.
Remove the used filter.
Place the new filter inside of the front cover with the black carbon layer facing the cover.
Reattach the front cover of the unit and securely latch into place.
Push and hold the night light control button for 3 seconds to reset
Filter Change Indicator.

CHECKING AND MAINTAINING FILTER

Maintain the filter by checking it frequently.
Depending on air quality conditions, you may need to replace it more frequently.
Vacuum the carbon filter layer as needed to remove loose debris and dust and to help prolong the life of your filter.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT try to wash and re-use the Filter.

REPLACING THE UV-C BULB
WHEN TO CHANGE THE BULB
You will know to change the bulb when the night light flashes a red light. A replaceable 1.7 watt UV-C light bulb will last over 5000 hours. It is suggested to replace the UV-C light bulb every 10 months depending on use.

REPLACE BULB

Turn off the unit.
Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
Remove the front cover by pulling away from the tabs on the bottom of the unit.
Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, loosen and remove the two Phillips screws located on the lamp cover. Remove the bulb and cable from the lamp compartment.
Remove the bulb by pulling it to unplug it from the cable. Do not pull the internal wire lead when disassembling the UV Lamp.
Replace the new bulb by plugging it into the cable. Replace the bulb and cable back into the lamp compartment.
Reassemble by reversing steps 3-4 above.
Push and hold the night light control button for 3 seconds to reset the UV light indicator.

NOTE: The purifier will run but the UV-C light will not function if the front cover is off or not properly installed.

WARNING:
ULTRAVIOLET-C LIGHT IS EMITTED FROM THE BULB WHEN THE UNIT IS ELECTRIFIED, EYE INJURY OR IRRITATION COULD RESULT, UNPLUG THE UNIT WHEN SERVICING THE BULB TO AVOID OVER EXPOSURE OF EYES AND SKIN TO THE ULTRAVIOLET-C LIGHT. Discard the used bulb by following the recommended disposal procedure for a used fluorescent bulb. The bulb should only be used in the Germ Guardian AC225 and all instructions for use must be followed.

WARNING:
MISAPPLYING OR MISUSING THE UV-C BULB COULD CAUSE INJURY TO THE EYES OR SKIN. NEVER USE THE BULB WITHOUT INSTALLING IT IN THE UNIT AS INSTRUCTED. NEVER OPERATE THE UNIT WITHOUT THE FRONT COVER IN PLACE.
This product can be serviced or maintained only by changing the UV-C bulb. The unit contains no serviceable parts. All parts, except the UV-C bulb, are warranted for 1 year from date of purchase. See the Limited Warranty. Use of any bulb other than the appropriate Guardian Technologies pluggable bulb will void the warranty. You may purchase bulbs directly from Guardian Technologies, or we can provide the names of retailers who stock our products in your area. Please call 866-603-5900 for more information. The health aspects associated with this product and its ability to aid in the disinfection of environmental air have not been investigated by CSA. The purchase of the Germ Guardian device does not prevent illness.

LIMITED WARRANTY

To the consumer, Guardian Technologies LLC warrants this product to be free of defects in materials or workmanship commencing upon the date of the original purchase. In order to be eligible for this Limited Warranty, an original sales receipt or comparable substitute proof of purchase bearing the date of original purchase is required. Refer to the original product carton or specific product/model page on the Guardian Technologies website for warranty length for your particular model. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of this product from the original date of purchase. This warranty covers product purchased from authorized distributors only.
This warranty applies to repair or replacement of product found to be defective in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from unusual wear, commercial, abusive, unreasonable use, or supplemental damage. This warranty does not cover damage from unauthorized repairs or from any use not in accordance with the instruction manual. Defects that are the result of normal wear and tear will not be considered manufacturing defects under this warranty.
If this product should become defective within the warranty period, we will repair or replace any defective parts free of charge. All warranty repairs must be completed by Guardian Technologies LLC. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights (other rights may vary from state to state in the U.S.A.)
To submit product under warranty the complete machine must be delivered pre- paid to Guardian Technologies LLC. Please include complete information including the problem, the model number of the product, the day of purchase, and a copy of the original sales receipt along with your name, address, and telephone (email optional).
