Installation and Safe Usage Instructions

Place the router in a vertical orientation on a flat surface.

Connect the manufacturer-supplied AC to the DC power adapter. The FAST 5689 router requires the use of a 12 VDC, 5000 mA power adapter. Only use a manufacturer-supplied and approved power adapter. Always first plug the mains adapter lead into the FAST 5689, then the mains lead into the mains adapter, and finally the mains lead into the mains socket. If you do not follow this order of connections you may get an electric shock. Make sure that the mains lead is properly inserted into the power supply unit, and that it is correctly pushed into the recess. It is very important to push the mains lead until the recess bottom. If it is incorrectly connected this may cause a risk of fire or electric shock.

Connect the FAST 5689 to the AC Mains in accordance with the installation instructions in this booklet, and the markings on the identification label (voltage, current, and frequency of electricity network).

Use the Ethernet cable provided and connect it to the RJ45 port on the product marked “ETH 10G”. Then connect the other end of the Ethernet Cable to the LAN side equipment (router).

Connect the Ethernet cable (provided) to one of the RJ45 ports on the Router labeled “LAN1”, “LAN2”, “LAN3”, or “LAN4”. Then connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of a computer. Repeat as necessary for the other available Ethernet ports.

For an Ethernet WAN configuration, connect the RJ45 port labeled “WAN” to the connection provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

For an optical fiber network configuration, insert an optical fiber cable in the port “Fibre, and then connect the other side of the optical fiber cable to the connection provided by your ISP.

Connect only to in-house equipment (SELV interface). It is not allowed to connect to public cable distribution or cable television networks.

Use only the power cord approved and supplied by the manufacturer

Radiation emitted by laser devices can be dangerous to human eyes. Avoid ocular exposure to director indireCt radiation.

Use the product in the environment specified as below: Air temperature between 0°C (32°F) and +40°C (104° F). The relative humidity is between 5% and 95%. Altitude: 9000 ft (-2,740m) maximum.

When the product is fixed in height, it must be installed at a maximum height of 2 meters.

The identification information is located on the pOwer supply unit and on the bottom or the exterior of the product.
When using this device, basiC safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons including the following

Do not use this product near water and avoid contact with moisture. For example, do not use near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool. Care should be taken so that liquids are not spilled on this equipment.

This equipment is for indoor use only, do not place or install in an outdoor location.

Ethernet ports are intended to be connected to indoor cable circuits that are exclusively located within the building where the product F5689 is installed and don’t terminate on remote equipment earthed to a different earthing network.

The devices connected to the telephone interfaces must be kept indoor use only.
Caution: To reduce risk of electric shock, fire or damage to the equipment, do not connect telephone or telecommunications public network into the “TEL1” or “TEL2” port. -
Never insert objects into the vents of this equipment as this can result in the risk of electrical shock or Tire.

This equipment should only be operated from the type of power supply (Voltage and Current) indicated on the marking label.

Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords. Doing so can result in the risk of fire or electrical shock.

Avoid blocking any vent openings or exhaust exits on this equipment. Do not place equipment in a built-in installation such as a cabinet that may impede the flow of air thrOugh the ventilation openings.

The equipment should be stuated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other heat-producing appliances and equipment.

Care should be taken to ensure that the power cord is routed, so it is not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or next to it.

Unplug this equipment before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning only.

This equipment is not user-serviceable and is to be serviced by qualified personnel only. Do not disassemble this equipment. if service is required, disconnect all power and phones lines from the equipment and consult qualified service personnel.

To disconnect this equipment from AC power, unplug the power supply from the AC wall socket.

Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.

Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.

Make sure the power socket to which you connect the povwer cord is easily accessible and as close as possible to the equipment so that the appliance can be unplugged quickly in case of a problem.
