Read the safety instruction carefully before using your appliance for the first time: any use which does not conform to these instructions will absolve from any liability.

Safety instructions

  •  This appliance may be used by children of at least 8 years of age, as long as they are supervised and have been given instructions about using the appliance safely and are fully aware of the dangers involved.
  •  Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised
  •  Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years
  •  This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and that they fully understand the potential hazards.
  •  Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the device.
  •  Do not leave the appliance (whether or not it is switched on) within reach of children unsupervised.
  •  The use of this appliance by young children or disabled persons must be supervised at all times.
  •  Check that specifications of your appliance are compatible with those of your electrical system.
  •  Any connection error will render the guarantee null and void
  •  If your system does not include an earthed socket, before you plug in the appliance it is vital that you call in an approved body to bring your electrical system up to standard.
  •  Any intervention other than normal cleaning and maintenance by the customer must be carried out by an approved.
  •  Never place the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water or in any other liquid.
  •  Do not allow the power cord to hang down within reach of children.
  •  Always keep the appliance well away from children.
  •  Never leave your appliance unattended whilst in use.
  •  The power cord must never be close to or in contact with the hot parts of your appliance, close to a source of heat or resting on a sharp edge.
  •  If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  •  Place your appliance on a stable, horizontal surface that is heat resistant.
  •  Do not use attachments not recommended for use with this product by the product manufacturer. Attachments may become hot during use, so allow them to cool before handling.
  •  When using electrical equipment, safety precautions must always be taken to prevent the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury in the event of misuse.
  •  Make sure that the voltage rating on the type plate corresponds to the main voltage of your installation. If this is not the case, contact the dealer and do not connect the unit
  •  Never open the appliance from the front, always position yourself slightly to the side to avoid burning yourself with steam.
  •  The device must not be used if it has been dropped, it obvious signs of damage are visible or if it has leaks.
  •  Please keep this document at hand and give it to the future owner in case of transfer of your device
  •  Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides to allow adequate air circulation.
  •  Do not place the product on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  •  Do not touch the plates with the non-stick coating when the appliance is switched on. The external surface may become hot when the appliance is in use.
  •  The appliance should not be kept or used in a humid environment.
  •  Allow the appliance to cool down before handing it in any way.
  •  All appliances are subject to strict quality control.
  •  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  •  The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  •  The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
  •  Do not immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids. There is a danger to life due to electric shock!

Warning : The surfaces are liable to get hot during use. The side and front surface is hot, and should not be touched.

WARNING : This electrical appliance contains a heating function. Surfaces, also different than functional surfaces, can develop high temperatures. Since temperatures are differently perceived by different persons, this equipment shall be used with CAUTION. The equipment shall be touched only at intended handles and gripping surfaces, and use heat protection like gloves or similar. Surfaces other than intended gripping surfaces shall get sufficient time to cool down before getting touched.

  • Your appliance has been designed for household use only. It was not designed to be used in the following cases which are not covered by the warranty:
    •  in kitchen areas reserved for staff in shops, offices and other professional environments,
    •  in farm inns,
    •  by customers of hotels, motels, and other residential environments,
    •  in bed and breakfast type environments.
  • When symbol is used, it means ” Caution: Hot surface”

Before using your appliance for the first time

Clean the plates using a damp sponge rinse and dry carefully. After applying a fine coating oil to the plates, close the appliance and plug it in. The indicator light (red) will come on. Allow it to heat up for several minutes to get rid of the new smell.

To Use

CAUTION : Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food.
NOTE: During the initial uses of this product, it may produce some smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.

  1.  Before using this product for the first time, clean it as described in the “Care and Maintenance” section.

  2.  Open the unit by pulling the Handle up.

  3.  Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into a standard electrical outlet. Verify that the Power Indicator Light illuminates in orange.
    WARNING: The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat-resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the Handle.

  4.  After the unit preheats for approximately five minutes, the Ready Indicator Light will illuminate in green, indicating the product is ready for use.

  5.  Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the Lower Plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.
    CAUTION :Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the Plates’ non-stick coating.

  6.  Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top of the food.
    NOTES:

  7.  The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.

  8.  Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.

  9.  When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to open the Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking will be done at this time, close the Plates to conserve heat.

  10.  Repeat Steps 5-6 until all cooking is complete

  11.  Turn off the product by unplugging the Power Cord from the electrical outlet.

Cleaning

  •  Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and allow it cool down.
  •  Never place the appliance in water or under running water.
  •  To clean the outside of the appliance, use a damp sponge and dry carefully.
  •  To clean the plates, use a damp sponge with washing-up liquid. Rinse and dry them with care.
  •  If there is any batter backed onto the plate, we would advise using vegetable oil to soften it and waiting 5 minutes before removing it.
  •  Never use a scouring pad or powder.

Storage
Wind the cord around the appliance and store the appliance vertically to save space.

Warranty Information
The manufacturer provides a warranty in accordance with the legislation of the customer’s own country of residence, with a minimum of 2 years (starting from the date on which the appliance is sold to the end-user). The warranty only covers defects in material or workmanship. The repairs under warranty may only be carried out by an authorized service centre. When making a claim under the warranty, the original bill of purchase (with purchase date) must be submitted.
The warranty will not apply in cases of:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Incorrect use, e.g. overloading of the appliance, use of non-approved accessories
  •  Use of force, damage caused by external influences
  •  Damage caused by non-observance of the user manual, e.g. connection to an unsuitable mains supply or non-compliance with the installation instructions
  •  Partially or completely dismantled appliances

Correct Disposal of this product
This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmentally safe recycling.
