Microsoft 1846 Short Range Device
Module Installation
This module will only be installed in Microsoft products and under the control
of Microsoft. The installation will be done in accordance with the following
conditions:
Host device label (physical or, where allowed, electronic) will include:
Contains FCC ID: C3K1846
Contains IC:3048A-1846
FCC
Following compliance statements required by FCC and ISED Canada for both
digital device and transmitter will be included in the host manual.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
- this device may not cause interference, and
- this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Any changes or modifications to this device not expressly approved by
Microsoft could void the user’s authority to operate the device.
The manual will also include the RF exposure warnings as shown below.
To comply with rf exposure requirements this equipment should be installed and
operated at a minimum of 20 cm from your body.
The antennas to be used are limited to:
The module is designed and tested to be used with the built-in antennas only.
The built-in antennas cannot be replaced or augmented in any way without
requiring additional authorization for operation.
Portable host systems will be subject to C2PC (FCC) and C4PC (Canada) filings
to address RF exposure for the specific host + module combination.
Host systems will be evaluated against the requirements for Class A or Class B
digital
devices and approved using the relevant FCC and ISED procedures. Additional
spot checks
to verify compliance of host + module with 15.249 and RSS 210 as required by
KDB 996369 D04 will be performed.
