Jala Mesh Routers in Mode 1
BASIC INSTALLATION
This basic guide is intended as a quick help for those end-users who want to install and use the Jala MeshRouters in a conventional (wireless) configuration using the so-called Mode 1.
Master Installation:
- Any of those routers could be installed as the master of the mesh.
- Use the electric power supply provided with the device to plug it to the chosen indoor power outlet.
- Turn on the device and wait for the Status LED to stop blinking.
- Use an ordinary Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port of the device to the Ethernet port on any computer.
- Using any browser on the computer, input 192.168.1.254 in the address field.
- Input “admin” as the user and also as the password on the access screen that will pop up. Choose “Master” mode and click “Next.”
- Following the examples in the screenshot, set the Internet (WAN) and WiFi parameters including a password.
- Click on “Save.”
- The device will automatically reboot and remain configured as the master. Wait a few minutes, and the master device of the mesh will be ready to use.
- Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer and the LAN port of the device, and use this cable to connect the WLAN port of the device to an Internet access port that the telecommunications company has provided for
- he house.
Satellite installation:
The end-user can deploy a conventional mesh configuration in Mode 1 using any other two Jala MeshRouters as satellites. The same as for the master, use the electric power supply provided with the device to plug each one of the two satellites to an indoor power outlet in the rooms where you decide to install them; turn them on, and wait for their status LED to stop blinking.
- As done before with the master, use an ordinary Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port of each one of the additional two devices to an Ethernet port of any computer.
- Using any browser on the computer, input 192.168.1.254 in the address field and check that the computer can now establish a network link with the previously-configured master.
- Input “admin” as the user and also as the password on the access screen that will pop up.
- Choose “Satellite” mode and click “Next.” Clicking “Next” after choosing “Satellite” will also save this choice.
- Each of these devices will automatically reboot and remain configured as a satellite. Follow the example in the screenshot to input the missing data and allow each newly configured satellite to get in sync with the master and click “Save.” The example shows both satellites allocated to a pair of locations or rooms (“Dormitorio” and “Sala”) that will depend on the user.
- After configuring the second satellite in the same way, please wait a few minutes, and the whole mesh network will be ready to use, providing WiFi access to all the WiFi mobile devices in the house, which will now be also able to navigate the Internet. The last screenshot shows that it is also possible to use a password to prevent unauthorized WiFi access. The default password for this purpose is 12345678, which can be changed at the user’s convenience.

If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
FCC Caution : Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate this equipment. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Operations in the 5.15-5.25GHz band are restricted to indoor usage only
Radiation Exposure Statement:
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an
uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with
a minimum distance 20cm between the radiator & your body.
Note: The country code selection is for non-US model only and is not
available to all US model. Per FCC regulation, all WiFi products marketed in
US must fixed to US operation channels only.
