PELOTON 00097-1.1 Commercial Bike Instruction Manual
These pedals are intended for use with the Peloton Commercial Bike or Bike+ in a supervised environment.
WARNING: Always cycle with appropriate footwear. Cycling barefoot or with inappropriate footwear can cause serious injury.
REMOVING PEDALS
- Turn resistance to maximum to stop the crank arms from moving.
- Using a 15 mm pedal wrench, rotate the right pedal spindle counterclockwise until the pedal comes off.
- Rotate the left pedal spindle clockwise until the pedal comes off.
ATTACHING PEDALS
CAUTION: Identify the right and left pedals before installation. Make sure each pedal is correctly threaded before screwing it in. Misaligning the threads or turning a pedal in the wrong direction could damage the pedal and bike.
-
Identify the left and right pedals using the L and R markings near the tensioning screw.
-
Add the fastener strap to one of the pedals, thread the strap through the bottom two openings of the toe cage, starting at the opposite side from the spindle. Make sure the buckle faces down.Thread the fastener strap through the top two openings.
-
Repeat with the other pedal.
-
Rotate the resistance knob all the way clockwise to lock the flywheel.
-
Insert the right pedal into the right crank arm at a 90° angle. Holding the pedal steady, rotate the spindle by hand at least four full rotations clockwise. Tighten using a 15 mm pedal wrench.
It’s important that the pedal is as tight as you can make it.
-
Insert the left pedal into the left crank arm at a 90° angle. Holding the pedal steady, rotate the spindle at least four full rotations counterclockwise. Tighten using a 15 mm pedal wrench. Double check that the pedal is as tight as you can make it.
Tighten pedals regularly. Remember to turn the wrench toward the front of the
bike to tighten on both sides.
To ensure safe operation and optimal performance, replace the pedals on your
Peloton Commercial Bike or Bike+ every 12 months.
CAUTION: Never use the toe cages without the strap. If a strap is
missing, remove the pedal from use until it can be replaced.
- Thread the toe cage strap up into the buckle and out through the other side. Make sure the straps on both toe cages are threaded through the buckles and there is enough room in the cages for your shoes to slide in easily.
- Standing over the Bike or Bike+, insert one foot into its toe cage.
- Pull the end of the strap to tighten the toe cage. It should be snug, but loose enough that you can remove your foot without difficulty.
- Push the pedal down to its lowest position. Standing on the pedal should allow you to lift yourself into the saddle.
- Insert your other foot into its toe cage and pull the strap to tighten the toe cage. It should be snug, but loose enough that you can remove your foot without difficulty.
