Important Safeguards
When using the appliance, must follow the below basic safety precautions:

**WARNING**
To avoid danger, use the appliance only as described in the operation manual.
Do not use it or any part of the appliance outdoors or out of the intended
purpose. Misuse can cause potential injury and malfunction.
Only use the kettle with the original power base. Make sure that the power
base and main body is well connected before use, otherwise, it will cause the
appliance to overheat or damage due to contact failure.
Do not attempt to modify the appliance by yourself or repair it with any
unauthorized parts, otherwise, it can cause hazards and the warranty will
become invalid.
Do not use the same socket with other high power consumption appliances, use
the extension unit beyond its capacity or use the power supply other than
220-240V~ to avoid danger caused by overload.
Do not fill water directly from the tap or in a sink to avoid spillage on the
connector or water getting into the appliance, it may cause electronic parts
to malfunction or danger.
If you are using tap water, must deactivate Pure Water Mode, and heat the
water to a full boil (100 °C) before keeping it warm.
Do not use deficient or loosened sockets.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are
aged 8 years and above and supervised. Children are being supervised not to
play with the appliance. Keep the appliance, power base, and its power cord
out of children aged less than 8 years.
Clean the appliance after use. Must not immerse the appliance, power base or
plug in water or let them wet, it can cause electric shock and fire.
Do not add water exceeding the maximum “MAX 1.5 L” level marked inside the
appliance. If the appliance is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
Do not touch, plugin or remove the plug with a wet hand, it can cause electric
shock.
Always check the condition of the appliance, power base, and power cord and
plug. If damage is found, stop using the appliance immediately to avoid
hazards and contact Shun Hing Electric Service Centre Limited to check and
repair.
**CAUTION**
The appliance is for boiling water only. Do not heat and contain any liquids
other than water such as milk, tea or ice, etc.
Do not move or shake the appliance when in use, so as not to cause danger.
Do not cover the appliance surface and spout with any objects, so as not to
cause overheating and malfunction.
Use the handle to move or lift the main body and pour out the hot water slowly
to avoid burning.
Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Never clip, modify, stretch or
twist the power cord.
To avoid burn, never get your face or hands close to the lid or spout, or
touch the housing which becomes hot; never touch the heating plate after use
which is subject to residual heat.
Condense water droplets may appear on the power base. This is normal and does
not indicate the appliance malfunction.
Never remove the main body from the power base during boiling water.
Before filling or pouring water, ensure the appliance is switched off and the
main body is separated from the power base.
Be sure to grasp the power plug when plugging in or unplugging the plug, do
not grasp the power cord.
Make sure the appliance surface, power base, and plug are clean and dry before
use, otherwise it may cause malfunction.
Always pay attention to the water level. Make sure to refill water before the
water is below the minimum “MIN 0.5 L” level marked inside the appliance to
avoid boil-dry.
Do not open the lid during use or right after use. Otherwise, massive hot
steam may come out from the steam vent. When opening the lid, be careful of
the hot steam and hot water droplets dripping from the lid.
Do not operate the appliance in the following places: ─ Near humid environment
or water;─ Expose to sunlight or near heat sources such as electric oven,
induction cooker, and fire; ─ On the unstable surface; ─ Near inflammable or
Nonresistant to heat objects (e.g. table cloth, curtain, and towel, etc.).
Do not operate the appliance when the power cord is tangled or hang the power
cord over the edge of a table, or countertop or let it touch any hot surface,
it may damage the power cord.
The appliance is intended to be used in household or similar applications such
as staff kitchens in shops, offices, and other working environments; by
clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments.
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
After use, unplug the appliance from the power socket and then empty the
appliance. Let the appliance cool down before moving, cleaning or checking.
Cleaning and Storage

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power socket, lift the main body from the power base and let it cool down.

Do not rinse the appliance with water. To clean the appliance surface, use a slightly damp cloth. If it is too dirty, wipe with a damp cloth with mild detergent, then wipe them dry.

After use, some color spots (e.g. red, milky, black, etc.) and discolor may appear in the appliance cavity and heating plate. This is because of the impurities contained in water or the accumulated scale. The harder the water, the faster the scale will build up. Scale can occur in different colors. Although the scale is harmless, too much scale can affect the
performance of the appliance. To avoid this, descale the appliance regularly. -
Descaling procedure:
4.1 Put 1-2 pieces of sliced lemon or 20g citric acid for 1L water into the appliance.
4.2 Fill clean water to the maximum “MAX 1.5 L” level marked inside the kettle.
4.3 Connect the appliance with the power source and let the water boil once. Cool down the appliance for 15 minutes after boiling, then empty the appliance. Water with sliced
lemon or citric acid should not keep in the cavity for too long to prevent deteriorating the inner surface.
4.4 Clean the cavity and heating plate with a sponge or soft brush, then rinse it with water.
4.5 Fill water to boil again and then empty the appliance.
4.6 Repeat the procedure if some scale remains in the cavity. -
When cleaning the appliance cavity and a heating plate, use a soft brush or sponge moisten with mild detergent, and rinse with clean water. Never use cleaning powder or harsh cleaning tools (e.g. metal-wired brush).

Never use an alkaline, poisonous, or corrosive detergent to clean the appliance.

When stored, wind the power cord in the power base. Never wrap the power cord tightly around the power base or put pressure on it to avoid the power cord damage.

When stored, put the appliance into a box and store it in a dry place.

Before First Use
- Remove all the packing materials and stickers (if any) from the appliance.
- Place the power base on a dry, stable, and flat surface.
- Unwind the power cord from the power base to a suitable length. Pass the power cord through the slot of the power base to fix its position.
- Rinse the appliance cavity with water. Then fill water to the maximum “MAX 1.5 L” level marked inside the kettle and let the water boil once (Refer to 6. Operation Instructions.)
- Pour out the hot water and rinse the appliance cavity once more.
Operation Instructions

To fill the kettle, remove the main body from the power base and press the lid release button to open the lid.

Fill the kettle with tap water or distilled water. Do not fill below the minimum “MIN 0.5 L” or above the maximum “MAX 1.5 L” level marked inside the kettle to avoid boil-dry or hot spillage when boiling. Do not boil or keep warm when the water is below the “MIN 0.5L” level mark.

Close the lid by pressing it firmly until you hear a “click”.

Place the main body on the power base and plug the power cord firmly into a wall socket.

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the kettle on. The current water temperature and all options will illuminate on the display screen to indicate that the appliance is on and in standby mode. The current water temperature may be slightly changed according to the actual environment, which is normal.

To boil the water, press the FUNCTION button and select “Boil 100 °C”. The kettle will bring the water to a full boil (100 °C) and stop automatically. The kettle and display automatically turn off after idled 10 minutes.
NOTE: There is no keep warm function in “Boil 100 °C”. -
To keep warm at a desired preset temperature (90/85/60/40 °C):

7.1 If you are using tap water, press the FUNCTION button for 2 seconds to
deactivate Pure Water Mode (activated by default). Or, skip to the next step
if you are using distilled water. When the mode is deactivated, “Pure Water”
will go off on the display screen. To re-activate, press the button for 2
seconds again.
7.2 Then, press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select the desired preset
temperature. The name of the selected temperature will blink while the kettle
is heating up the water, and will stop blinking once the temperature is
reached. The current water temperature will show on the display screen.
• Deactivate Pure Water Mode if you are using tap water. When 90/85/60/40 °C
is selected while the mode is deactivated, the kettle will heat the water to a
full boil (100 °C) and beep. Then the kettle will automatically keep warm at
the selected temperature for up to 24 hours and turn off.
• Activate Pure Water Mode if you are using distilled or pre-boiled water.
When 90/85/60/40 °C is selected under this mode, the kettle will heat the
water up to the selected temperature and beep. Then the kettle will
automatically keep warm at the selected temperature for up to 24 hours and
turn off.
NOTE: During the keeps warm function, if the main body is removed from
the power base and returned it afterward, the kettle will resume to the last
keep warm setting.
- Once finished using the appliance, press the ON/OFF button to turn the appliance off and unplug the power plug from the wall socket.
CAUTION:
- Always bring tap water to a full boil (100 °C) before keeping it warm.
- To avoid burns, only touch the buttons and hold the kettle by the handle.
- Always turn off and unplug the appliance when it is not in use.
NOTE: The appliance is equipped with a boil-dry protection device. If it is boiled without water or the water is below the minimum “MIN 0.5 L” level marked inside the kettle, it will automatically switch off. If the appliance was boiled dry before, switch it off and lift the main body from the power base. Let the appliance cool down for 15 minutes before use again.

After Sales Service
Shun Hing Electric Works & Engineering Co., Ltd. (“The Company”) authorizes Shun Hing Electric Service Centre Ltd. (“SHESC”) (collectively “Shun Hing”) to offer one-year warranty service for the product commencing from the date of purchase invoice or redemption voucher. Services beyond the said warranty period will be charged according to the standard service charge price list from SHESC.
- Shun Hing shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage to any person or property, howsoever caused arising from improper use, or any stoppage, breakdown, or failure of the product.
- The customer is responsible to deliver the product to our service station or any place in an urban area and picking up the repaired product from the same location.
- The warranty card (printed on the packing box) is valid only in Hong Kong and Macau. The customer is required to present the warranty card together with the official purchase invoice issued by the dealers of Hong Kong or Macau or a redemption voucher to our technician for verification when service is rendered. The warranty card is valid only if the model number stated herein corresponds with that of the product and the date of purchase/redemption stated herein is the same as the date of the official purchase invoice/redemption voucher. Save and except the specific warranty card, any other warranty card issued by other parties will not be recognized by Shun Hing.
- The customer shall not alter the serial number of the product. The warranty card is void if the serial number on the product does not match with that shown on the warranty card (if applicable).
- For any defect which in our judgment is caused under normal use, SHESC will repair or replace the defective parts, excluding any surface, cabinet, consumptive parts, and accessories, free of charge within the warranty period. Any defective part which has been replaced shall become the property of SHESC.
- Warranty service does not cover the following items. Additional charges shall be levied if services are required. (a) Repair or replacement of accessories, cosmetic and consumptive parts including but not limited to external cables, control panel, control panel label and etc. (b) The product has been explicitly or implicitly modified, tampered with, altered, or repaired in any way by persons other than technicians of SHESC. (c) The product has been damaged through misuse, negligence, power interruption or abnormal voltage input, accident, natural calamities, or ingress of insects, foreign matters or liquid, corrosion or external factors. (d) The normal operation of the product is affected by improper installation of the product.
- In case there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English version and the Chinese version of the terms, the Chinese version shall prevail.
- All terms stated are subject to change without notice. SHESC retains final deciding authority in case of a dispute.
- Nothing in the warranty card confers or purports to confer on any third party any benefit or any right pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap. 623) to enforce any term of the warranty card.
