To reduce the risk of personal injury, electric shock or fire, please observe the following:

  • Do not allow infants and children to play with packaging material. (It may cause suffocation.)
  • Do not disassemble, repair or modify this appliance. →Contact Panasonic Service Centre for inspection or repair.
  • Do not damage the power cord or power plug. Following actions are strictly prohibited:
    Modifying, touching on or placing near heating elements or hot surfaces, bending, twisting,pulling, hanging / pulling over sharp edges, putting heavy objects on top, bundling the power cord or carrying the appliance by the power cord.

  • Do not plug or unplug the power plug with wet hands.
  • Do not use the appliance if the power cord or power plug  is damaged or the power plug is loosely connected to the outlet. →If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service centre or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. →Insert the power plug firmly.
  • Do not use the glass lid or the ceramic pot if it has cracked orchipped.
  • Do not switch on the appliance if the ceramic pot is  empty.
  • Do not place any cooking utensils inside the ceramic pot while cooking.
  • Do not immerse the body in water, or splash it with water and / or any liquid.
  • Do not let any objects get stuck between the ceramic pot and protection pan when appliance is in operation.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • Keep the appliance and its power cord out of reach of children.

  • Dust off the power plug regularly.
    →Unplug the power plug, and wipe with a dry cloth.

  • Discontinue using the appliance immediately and unplug in the unlikely event that this appliance stops working properly.
    e.g. for abnormal occurrences or breaking down

  • The power plug or the power cord become abnormally hot.

  • The appliance power fails.

  • The body is deformed, has visible damage or is abnormally hot.

  • The ceramic pot or other parts are cracked.

  • There is an unpleasant smell.

  • There is abnormal turning noise while in use.

  • There is another abnormality or failure.
    →Contact Panasonic Service Centre for inspection or repair.

  • Make sure the voltage indicated on the label of the appliance is the same as your local supply.
    Also avoid plugging other devices into the same outlet to prevent electric overheating. However, if you are connecting a number of power plugs, make sure the total wattage does not exceed the rated wattage of the outlet.

  • Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the ceramic pot as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to a sudden steaming.

  • Do not use the appliance near wall, furniture, or in enclosed spaces such as built-in cupboard. →Position the appliance on a firm, dry, clean flat heatproof workshop at least 10 cm from the edge of worktop, and at least 5 cm from adjacent wall and other objects.
  • Do not use the appliance on the following places.
  • On uneven surfaces, on carpets or tablecloths etc.
  • Place where it may be splashed with water or near a heat source.
  • Near any open water such as bathtubs, sinks, or other containers.
  • Near a wall or furniture. →Place the appliance on a firm, dry, clean flat worktop.
  • Do not touch the hot area such as the body, inside of protection pan, ceramic pot or inside of the glass lid while the appliance is in use or  immediately after use. →To avoid burn, always use oven gloves to remove the glass lid or the ceramic pot. (Do not use wet oven gloves.)
  • Do not open the glass lid during the use of this appliance. Beware while removing the glass lid after cooking as hot steam will escape from the ceramic pot.
  • Do not expose the ceramic pot to open flame or any other heating source to do heating, and do not touch cool water when it is hot to avoid the ceramic pot from cracking.
  • Do not replace any parts of the appliance with non-genuine spare parts.
  • Do not switch on when the Slow Cooker is upside down or laid on its side.
  • Do not cook directly in the protection pan. Use the ceramic pot.
  • Do not cover the glass lid with or place the appliance on cloth, paper or such  flammable materials when the appliance is in operation.
  • Do not insert any object in the gaps.
  • Do not remove ceramic pot or pull power plug from the socket during use.
  • Do not cook more than 80% of the ceramic pot capacity. Adding too much or too  little water may cause product malfunction or danger. (P. EN9, “Specifications”)
  • Do not store the glass lid or ceramic pot in refrigerator or freezer.
  • Do not store the frozen food when the power turn off. (The moisture inside the appliance structure will condense to cause malfunction.)
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is in operation.
  • When leaving the appliance unattended, turn the power off.
  • Do not use the ceramic pot to store foods or liquid.
  • Do not carry the appliance by gripping on the ceramic pot.This may cause the dropping of the appliance. Ensure to hold both handles.
  • Do not use any cooking utensils with sharp edges and corners to touch the ceramic pot. It may scratch and damage the ceramic pot.

  • Do not use an external timer etc.
  • This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  • Make sure to switch off the appliance and disconnect the power plug from the power outlet before assembly, disassembly, movement and cleaning while not in use, and wipe the appliance before next use.
  • Make sure to hold the power plug when unplugging it.
  • Beware not to trip over or get caught in the power cord while in use.
  • Before handling, moving, and cleaning, make sure that the appliance to cool down.
  • Cooking must be done with the ceramic pot placed in the body and with the glass lid closed.
  • The ceramic pot and glass lid are fragile and are not covered by warranty, use them with caution.
  • Always keep the appliance dry, especially the protection pan.

Important Information

  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.

  • Do not place the ceramic pot on any heat sources or in a microwave oven.
  • Do not drop the appliance or attachments to avoid damaging it.

How to Use

Note:

  • When using the appliance for the first time or when it has not been used for a period of time, remove the packaging material first and then clean and dry the ceramic pot and glass lid. (P. EN8 “How to Clean”)
  • Be careful when removing the ceramic pot from the body. Ensure the ceramic pot is completely taken out before moving away.
  • Authentic porcelain is fired under extreme heat. Therefore each ceramic pot is individual  and differs slightly from every other pot. This unique characteristic may result in a minor rocking of the glass lid which should not be of concern.
  • Low heat cooking does not allow steam to escape, hence there will be no significant loss of juice, flavour or nutrition.
  • After using the ceramic pot for sometime, “hairline mark” may appear on the inner and outer surfaces of the pot. This type of mark is only at the surface and it is normal.
  • For a long life-span of the appliance, please follow the maximum cooking time. Recommended maximum cooking time for “Low” and “Auto” lever is 12 hours and for “High” lever is 8 hours. Please wait for the appliance to completely cool down before starting the next cooking.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on one’s own recipe and ingredients.

| **1** Place the ceramic pot into the body. Place the cooking ingredients into the ceramic pot and pour appropriate amount of water (not more than 80% of pot capacity), and then cover the glass lid.

| **2** Plug in. Turn the switch knob to the suitable lever to start cooking.

  • Before plug in, make sure that the switch knob is in “Off” lever.
  • The cooking time is about 2-5 hours when adding room temperature water. It is recommended to add warm water around 70 ℃ to save cooking time.
  • Turn the switch knob to “High” lever first. After boiling, adjust the lever according to food’s nature and cooking time. ( See “Lever Selection” in the “Control Panel” section in P. EN6)
  • Do not open the glass lid during cooking.

| **3** After cooking completed, turn the switch knob to the “Off” lever, the power indicator will go out.

  • Maker sure to wear oven gloves when opening the glass lid. (Do not wear wet oven gloves.)
  • Do not take out the ceramic pot with bare hands to avoid burns.

Cleaning and Care

  • Remove the power plug and make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning.
  • Clean the parts thoroughly after every use. Keep all parts clean and dry always.
  • Do not use knives or sharp metal scrapers to clean the ceramic pot or the glass lid.
  • Do not immerse the body in water or any liquid.
  • Do not use benzine, thinner, bleach, alcohol, nylon face of sponge, metal brushes or polish powder etc.
  • Before cleaning the body, ensure to remove the ceramic pot and the glass lid out from the body.
  • Any residue of vinegar or salt may cause corrosion.

Note|

  • Do not wash  in water. (It may cause malfunction.)
  • Clean the body surface by using a soft , damped cloth and wipe with a dry cloth.

  • Wash the parts using a soft sponge soaked in diluted kitchen detergent (neutral).  Rinse and dry thoroughly.

  • Clean with a damp cloth, scouring pad, sprayed lightly with a soft  type of all purpose cleaner to maintain the original shine. Make sure to keep the protection pan dry.

  • Do not wash in water. (It may cause malfunction. )
  • Clean the base surface by using a soft, damped cloth and wipe with a dry cloth.

Troubleshooting

Please check the following points before calling or arranging for repair.

Problem Cause and Action
The appliance does not work.
  • The power plug is disconnected
    ➝ Insert the power plug into outlet firmly.

During the cooking, the body surface temperature is a  bit high and it is a little burn your hand.|

  •  It occurs because the temperature of the heating element is very high and transferred to the body surface.

➝ It is not quality problem and does not influence normal work.

There is abnormal noise or vibration increases.|

  •  There is still some water on the outside of ceramic pot that has not been wiped clean.

➝ Wipe clean the water on the outside of ceramic pot.
