SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • To operate this device safely, the user must have read and understood these instructions for use before using the device for the first time.
  • Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Observe all safety instructions! Failure to do so may cause harm to you and others.
  • Retain all instructions for use, and safety in-structions for future reference.
  • If you sell or pass the device on, you must also hand over these operating instructions.
  • The device must only be used when it functions properly. If the product or part of the product is defective, it must be taken out of operation and disposed of correctly.
  • Never use the device in a room where there is a danger of explosion or near flammable liquids or gases.
  • Keep children away from the device! Keep the device out of the way of children and other unauthorised persons. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appli-ance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Using battery-operated devices

  • Only use batteries approved by the manufacturer.
  • Danger of fire! Never charge the batteries.
  • Keep batteries away from metal objects that could cause short circuiting when not in use. There is a risk of injuries and fires.
  • Fluid can escape from the battery when used incorrectly. Battery fluid may result in skin irri-tations and burns. Avoid contact! In the event of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Immediately seek the aid of a physician in the event of eye contact.

  • Do not leave packaging material lying around. Plastic bags may become a deadly toy for chil-dren.
  • Keep this manual for later reference and hand it over with the product.
  • Do not use the device in locations where there is a risk of fire or explosion, e.g. near inflamma-ble liquids or gases.
  • Do not operate the device in wet or humid envi-ronments.
  • Store the device out of the range of children. Do not have the device operated by persons not familiar with it and ignorant of this manual. The device is not a toy and may be dangerous of op-erated by inexperienced persons. Keep children and other persons away while operating the device.
  • Do not operate the device while you are tired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A moment of failing attention when operating an electric tool can cause serious injury.
  • Avoid turning on the device accidentally. Make sure the device is turned off before laying it down or storing it.
  • Allow the device to cool down and attach the protective cap before storing the device.
  • Risk of burns! Avoid skin contact with the device and protect yourself from dripping wax!
  • Before each use check the unit and accessories for damage and function.
  • Do not disassemble, burn, or short-circuit bat-teries and do not attempt to recharge nonre-chargeable batteries.
  • Do not disassemble the unit or attempt to repair it yourself. It does not contain parts serviceable by you. In the case of questions or problems, turn to our customer support.

Intended use
The device is intended for repairing surfaces of laminate, parquet, cork, hardwood floors, wood and plastic by melting a suitable wax. The device is not allowed for melting other materials. The appliance is intended exclusively for domestic use. Do not use the appliance for commercial or industrial applications. Operation is only permitted in a dry environment; contact with moisture must be avoided at all times.

ASSEMBLY

Inserting the batteries

This device requires 2x 1.5 V batteries, Type AA/LR6/Alkaline, for operation.

  • Open the battery compartment (7) on the back side of the device.
  • Place the batteries into the battery compart-ment, following the polarity details as depicted in it.
  • Close and secure the battery compartment.

OPERATION

Switching the device ON/OFF

  • To switch the appliance on, place the On/Off switch (4) at the position “ON”.
  • Press and hold the heat button (5) to heat up the wax melting tip (2).
  • Red LED (6) lights up when melting tip is heat-ing.
  • When releasing heat button (5) the wax melting tip will cool down and the light turns off.
  • To switch the appliance off, place the On/Off switch (4) at the position “OFF”.
  • After use always place the protection cap (3) back on the device.

Preparation of the damaged area

  • The damaged area must be cleaned and flat-tened before repairing.
  • Clean the damaged area with the sharp edge of the flattening scraper (9).
  • Remove all loose residue.

Colour selection to match damaged area

  • Select the matching colour tone. Tip! When in doubt between two colours, start with lighter colour.
  • If desired, multiple colours can be used to repair a damage. Tip! Always build up the colour from light to dark.
  • For larger or deep damaged areas, it is recom-mended to combine the transparent wax (K) together with the chosen base colour in order to create a better matching result.

Melting the Wax

  • Turn the device on like mentioned in “switching the device On/Off”.
  • Melt a small amount of wax by using the wax melting tip (2) and transfer to wax to the dam-aged area.

Filling the damaged area

  • Fill the damaged area with wax layer by layer until the area is completely filled with wax. Make sure there is a slightly excessive amount of wax used. The redundant wax will be scraped off, as explain in “finishing and fine matching”.
  • For vertical surfaces it is advisable to mix the colour beforehand and apply quickly with the scrapper.

Finishing and fine matching

  • Allow the wax to cool for a few seconds for small damaged areas.
  • The cool down time depends on the size and depth of the damaged area.
  • With light pressure carefully remove excessive wax with the ribbed side of the flattening scrap-er (9). Repeat this several times in different directions.
  • Wipe the abrasive sponge (10) over the filled area to degrease the surface.

When repair of the damaged area is done always switch off the device and place the protection cap back on the device.

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

  • The flattening scraper (9) can be cleaned with the serrated edges of the cleaning scraper (8).
  • Clean the wax melting point (2). Residue must be removed.
  • Let the melting tip cool before placing the pro-tection cap back on the device.

Changing the batteries

  • Open the battery compartment (7).
  • Place batteries. Pay attention to correct polarity!
  • Close battery compartment.

Storage

NOTICE! Risk of product damage!

  • Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated place.
  • Only store and transport the product in its origi-nal packaging.

NOTICE!
Risk of product damage! Old, leaky batteries can damage the product. Check the battery regularly.

ENVIRONMENT

Faulty and/or discarded electrical or electronic apparatus have to be collected at the appropriate recycling locations.

Only for EC countries
Do not dispose of power tools into domestic waste. According to the European Guideline 2012/19/EU for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its implementation into national right, power tools that are no longer usable must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

WARRANTY

VONROC products are developed to the highest quality standards and are guaranteed free of defects in both materials and workmanship for the period lawfully stipulated starting from the date of original purchase. Should the product develop any failure during this period due to defective material and/or workmanship then contact VONROC directly. The following circumstances are excluded from this guarantee:

  • Repairs and or alterations have been made or attempted to the machine by unauthorized service centers;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • The tool has been abused, misused or improp-erly maintained;
  • Non-original spare parts have been used.

This constitutes the sole warranty made by compa-ny either expressed or implied. There are no other warranties expressed or implied which extend beyond the face hereof, herein, including the im-plied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall VONROC be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. The dealers remedies shall be limited to repair or replacement of nonconforming units or parts.
