This instruction sheet is provided as a guide for installation. The installation must be performed by a qualified service professional. It is the responsibility of the service person installing the kit to make sure it is installed properly and securely.

Remove installed protectors

Read all instructions carefully before attempting the installation.

Unplug components and remove scoops

  • Make sure that the machine is turned off and unplugged before the installation begins. Remove the lockdown bar and remove the glass from the machine.
  •  Position the playfield in the upright position so that the bottom arch is touching the backbox.
  • Unplug the -10 plastic assembly connector, the opto connectors for the side scoop, the opto connectors for the main scoop, the coil connector for the post (LE / PREM), and the side scoop switch (LE / PREM). See image below for connector locations (LE / PREM shown). Note: the PRO model will not have the connector for the post, and the connector for the switch.
  • Using a 1/4” nut driver, remove the 5X wood screws for the side scoop. Set aside the wood screws, and side scoop for use in section 4.3.3. Note: LE / PREM assembly will have an additional screw to remove. See image below for differences.
  • Using a 1/4” nut driver, remove the 4X wood screws for the main scoop. Set aside the wood screws, and main scoop for use inazx section 4.3.2.

Remove top plastics

  • Position the playfield on service rails so that the rubber feet are resting on the metal plate attached to the front of the cabinet.
  • Using the #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the 3X Phillips head screws located on plastic -34. Set aside the screws, washers, and plastic -34 for use in section 4.2.3.
  • Using the #2 Phillips screwdriver and the #1 Phillips screwdriver to remove plastic -10 plastic assembly. Set aside the screw, washers, spacers, and plastic -10 assembly for use in section 4.2.2.

Remove posts and installed edge protector

  • Position the playfield in the upright position so that the bottom arch is touching the backbox
  • Using the 3/8” nut driver and the 3/8” wrench remove 3X high impact posts. Set aside posts, washers and nuts. Note: The LE / PREM playfield will have an additional plate that will be held in by the posts, remove that and set aside for use in section 4.1.3.
  • Position the playfield on service rails so that the rubber feet are resting on the metal plate attached to the front of the cabinet.
  •  Slide-out each edge protector from the open holes. Discard old edge protectors.

Install new protectors

Be careful not to scratch the playfield when installing the edge protectors.

Install edge protectors and posts

  • lide in the side scoop edge protector (Item 4). The side tabs of the scoop protector should be flush against the walls of the wood opening.
  •  Slide in the main scoop edge protector (Items 3). The “ears” of the new edge protector will wrap around the playfield and need to be pushed tight against the wood opening. The final installation will look like the images below.
  • Position the playfield on service rails so that the rubber feet are resting on the metal plate attached to the front of the cabinet.
  • Using the 3/8” nut driver and the 3/8” wrench attach 3X high impact posts, using posts, washers, and nuts from section 3.3.2. Note: The LE / PREM playfield will have an additional plate from section 3.3.2. that will be held in by the posts, install that plate when screwing in the posts. Install top plastics and scoop guard

  • Position the playfield on service rails so that the rubber feet are resting on the metal plate attached to the front of the cabinet.
  •  Using the #1 Phillips screwdriver, attach plastic -10 assembly to the pop bumper using the 2X flat head screws from section 3.2.3.
  • Using the #2 Phillips screwdriver, the provided spacers (Item 6), the provided scoop guard (Item 5), and the screaws from section 3.2.3. install the scoop guard as shown below. Stern-pinball-Rush-Pro-Rush-Edge-Pr
  • Using the #2 Phillips screwdriver, install the 3X Phillips head screws located on plastic -34, using the screws, washers, and plastic -34 from section 3.2.1.

Install scoops

  • Position the playfield on service rails so that the rubber feet are resting on the metal plate attached to the fazront of the cabinet.
  • Using a 1/4” nut driver, install the main scoop using the screws and scoop from section 3.1.5.
  • Using a 1/4” nut driver, install the side scoop using the screws and side scoop from section 3.1.4.
  • Plug in the -10 plastic assembly connector, the opto connectors for the side scoop, the opto connectors for the main scoop, the coil connector for the post (LE / PREM), and the side scoop switch (LE / PREM). See image below for connector locations (LE / PREM shown). Note: the PRO model will not have the connector for the post, and the connector for the switch.
  • Replace the playfield into game position and installation is finished.
