OPERATION

Power ON/OFF
Press the Measure button (6) to turn ON the unit. The unit will turn OFF automatically after 15 seconds.

Measuring mode
When the unit is turned ON, the current measuring mode is shown: “body” or “surface temp”. Press the Set button (5) to change measuring mode.

Settings menu
In the Settings menu, you can change the temperature unit, temperature alarm threshold, temperature offset, and warning tone ON/OFF respectively.

Press the Set button (5) for 2 seconds. The screen displays F1. In F1, press the – button (3) or + button (4) to select the desired temperature unit: Celsius or Fahrenheit. Press the Set button (5) again to toggle to menu F2.

In F2, you can set the desired temperature for which you want to receive an audible alarm, when the set temperature is reached. Press the – button (3) to decrease the temperature value by 0.1 °C/°F and + button (4) to increase the temperature value by 0.1 °C/°F. Note: The default alarm value is 38 °C (100.4 °F). Press the Set button (5) again to toggle to menu F3.

Due to ambient temperature, measuring distance, individual skin differences or other factors, minor differences in temperature may occur between a target’s measured value and its true value. In F3, the temperature offset value may be used to amend the measured value by offsetting these differences. For example, if the body temperature measured using the thermometer is 36.2 °C, and the actual temperature of the measured target is 37.0 °C, you can increase the deviation by 0.8 °C. After completing, the same result as the actual body temperature is obtained.

In F3, press the + button (4) to increase the deviation value by 0.1 °C/°F, or press the – button (3) to decrease the deviation value by 0.1 °C/°F. Press the Set button (5) again to toggle to menu F4.

In F4, press the – button (3) or + button (4) to turn the warning tone beep ON or OFF. Press the Set button (5) again to save and exit the Settings menu. Your thermometer will turn off after saving.

Note: Any adjusted settings will only be saved when the thermometer turns off.

MEASURING METHOD See illustration II
Make sure that the measuring mode is set to body temperature mode. Align the thermometer probe to the middle of the forehead and keep it vertical with a distance of about 3-5cm (A). Press the measure button (6). After 1 second you will hear a beep and the measured value is shown on the screen (B). If the measured value exceeds the temperature warning point (the default value is 38 °C), you will hear a warning tone of 5 beeps.
The display color will change according to the fever level:

  • Green light: Normal temperature 32 ~ 37.5 °C
  • Yellow light: Low fever 37.6 ~ 37.9 °C
  • Red light: High fever 38 ~ 42.5 °C

If the environmental temperature changes largely and affects the forehead temperature, please measure the body temperature by aligning the probe to the back of the earlobe (C).
Notes:

  • Do not measure the body temperature immediately after measuring extremely high or low temperature. Please wait for 30 minutes.
  • When the measured object comes from a place where the temperature is greatly different from the test ambient temperature, hold the thermometer in the test environment for at least five minutes or more.
  • Try not to use the device after blowing, sweating, using cosmetics, etc. on the forehead.
  • Don’t use the device within 30 minutes after exercising, bathing or eating.

The infrared thermometer will automatically save the last 32 values for body and surface temperature in the memory.

MAINTENANCE

Keep the sensor and probe cavity clean, otherwise it will affect the measurement accuracy.

  1. Surface cleaning: Wipe the surface with a little bit of medical alcohol or water using a clean soft cloth or cotton stick.
  2. Sensor and probe cavity cleaning: Gently wipe the probe cavity or the top of the sensor with a little medical alcohol using a clean soft cloth or cotton stick.
