Introduction
The thicker the wire, the lower the gauge number. The resistance to current flow is lower when the wire is thicker. CCA (COPPER CLAD ALUMINUM) WIRING – CCA wiring is a good conductor for power transmission. When it comes to power or ground wire, this is the most cost-effective alternative. OFC wiring is recommended for systems that demand higher power. RUGGED PVC JACKET – Allows for free, wide, and seamless adjustment of the wire’s required physical qualities like flexibility, elasticity, and impact resistance. EASY POLARITY IDENTIFICATION – The two-tone jacket makes polarity identification a breeze. Your audio equipment could be harmed if you make a polarity error. SOFT TOUCH JACKET – Our cable’s jacket was created with the installation in mind. This jacket’s flexibility allows for easy routing and offers a comfortable fit.
What is the maximum wattage that a 1/0 gauge wire can handle
It has a rated ampacity of 150 amps at 75°C; in other words, the 1/0 W wire is a 150 amp wire size. At 60°C, it can manage up to 125 amps, while at higher temperatures (90°C), it can handle up to 170 amps. 0 gauge wire is suitable for a variety of electrical applications.
Is CCA wire a good choice
CCA is a better conductor of electricity than a wire made completely of aluminium. Although the copper coating helps, it isn’t as good as pure copper wire. It’s also more durable than pure aluminium wire, but not as durable as pure copper.
Frequentlyh Asked Questions
-
How many amps can this take?
This aluminum 1/0 wire should be able to handle 120 amps depending on length. -
Which wire is the best ofc or cca?
Ofc (oxygen free copper) is best for all electronics! Don’t buy this stuff…it corrodes fast in normal air and carries 40% less current than same awg copper wire! If you need power…go copper -
Can i used it on 220 electric power?
I am you can. The cost would be a concern, as well as the inability to confine the wires as you would need 4 wires 2 to carry load 1 neutral and one ground. I would think a 8 gage 3 with ground shielded cable would ge better. The only advantage I can see is it is very flexable.

Do you guys have any 30’ pieces of the 1/0?
I don’t think they do I had to buy 2 of the 25 ft to get what i needed just two find out i only needed to buy one 25ft and that power grounds and the big 3 on my system idk what your using it for though. -
Can this be used for a boat?
Yes this will work great for boats as well. Just remember it is NOT copper. If your project called for 8ga copper I would use 6ga CCA. Since that is probably not available, if you have room use 4ga. If not check online to find a chart of amp draw vs distance to make sure 8ga is ok. And always use grommets to go through any kind of “wall” or bulkheads cuz it is very soft insulation on the wire. Good luck. -
Can this wire be run underneath the car exposed to the elements or is it interior use only?
It has a soft casing that makes it great for bending and manipulating through corners and carpet…I wOuldn’t trust it under a car where small rocks and debris can eat away at it. And if there’s salt, definite issues there. If you need something tougher, marine grade wire is what you ought to be looking for -
Can u use this wire to wire for heavy demand speaker sub woofers?
Yes, but you still need to do more research on the specific sub your using. Just to figure out if it’s the right guage for your application. -
I want to rewire my bass boat. Will this cable hold up to a direct connection from 12 volt battery to the trolling motor?
Yes, unless you have the mother of all trolling motors, a 1.0 gauge wire is good for up to 150 amps. Check your trolling motor’s amp rating. -
Can this be used for automotive use, such as hooking up an ignition system to a starter, alternator to power the battery, etc?
Yes, I have this cable from the alternator to my battery for my music project and it works perfect. -
Are your connectors rated for the aluminum connection?
I would not hook these up to aluminum due to thermal coefficient of expansion mismatch. These are rated for high amperage which may heat up the aluminum causing loosening of the connector over multiple current on-off cycles. -
I’m planning to connect a starter battery to a house battery about 15 feet apart fused with 200 amps. Will this cable work or do I need copper?
Copper would be much better, but you could use it if you needed to. -
Does this work for a 24v trolling motor, max 48amps?
I think it would. I used it on my Suburban, and while it’s 12V instead of 24 the alternator tops out at 130 amps. It’s also very flexible so you may want to have plenty of zip ties handy for keeping it in place if your running it very far. -
Im planning to use this to ground a roof mount tv antenna. good idea?
Sure…just b sure to have secure clean grounds. Maybe coat the ground locations with clear coat of paint prevent corrosion -
I want to use this as battery wires and from solenoid to starter. Would that work as long as everything is inside a loom within the engine compartment?
Yes, but you may want heavier gauge wire for starting systems.

Isn’t true welding gauge pure copper? this states it’s cca thats not good?
Yes as far as I remember it is, and CCA is not good. If you look on YouTube there’s a video about OFC vs CCA wire in which they hooked up a kicker amp to both types. The kicker amp lost 100 watts of power using CCA vs OFC wire -
Can this wire be used for automotive use such as hooking up ignition wiring, starter, alternator to battery applications?
It is too light a gauge to be used as the main power cable for a starter, and is best for alternator to battery or other primary wiring that needs it’s current carrying capacity. It is suitable for that.
