IMPORTANT
Read and understand these instructions before using the power pack. Correct
use and storage will keep it in good condition and ensure trouble free
operation.
Powerpack must be charged before initial use.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- WARNING – RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES
- WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL BATTERY OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE, IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT, THAT EACH TIME BEFORE USING THE POWER PACK, YOU READ THIS MANUAL AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY.
- To reduce the risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published by the battery manufacturer and manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in the vicinity of the battery. Review warning marks on all these products and on the engine.3
- PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:
- A a. When working near a lead-acid battery, someone should be within range of your voice, close enough to come to your aid.
- b. Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts skin, clothing or eyes,
- c. Wear complete eye and clothing protection. Avoid touching eyes when working with batteries.
- d. If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If acid enters eye, immediately flood eye with cool, clean running water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention immediately.
- e. NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in vicinity of battery or engine.
- f. Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping a metal tool onto a battery. It could spark or short circuit the battery or, any other electrical part possibly causing an explosion.
- g. When working with a lead-acid battery, remove personal metallic items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches. A lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring, or the like to metal, which may cause severe burns.
- h. Use the power pack for charging or boosting lead-acid batteries only. Do not use for charging dry-cell batteries that are commonly used with home appliances. For example, radios, torches etc. These batteries may explode and cause injury to persons and damage to property.
- i. NEVER charge or boost a frozen battery.
- j. NEVER allow clamps to touch one another or to contact the same piece of metal to prevent arcing.
- OTHER IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
- a. When using the plug-in mains charger or in-car charger ALWAYS pull the plug to disconnect and NEVER PULL ON THE WIRE.
- b. Do not recharge the power pack with a damaged charger. Replace immediately.
- c. The power pack can be used in any weather conditions, rain, snow, heat, as well as cold temperatures.
- d. Do not submerge in water.
- e. Do not operate near flammables such as petrol, paraffin, or thinners etc.
- f. If the power pack receives a sharp blow or is otherwise damaged in any way, do not disassemble the power pack. Have it checked by a qualified service person. Return to source.
The power pack should never be left in a totally discharged state for an extended period of time. Permanent damage is possible resulting in poor performance.When not in use, recharge every six (6) months. Ensure fully charged before storage.
FEATURES

RECHARGING PROCEDURES
Check the power level of the power pack with the test switch. Pointer needle
will indicate charge state of power pack.
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO RECHARGE THE POWER PACK:
- With the plug-in mains charger, plug in the outlet and let charge up to 16 hours if completely discharged. Most recharges can be done within eight hours. Do not leave on charge for more than 72 hours.
- With the in-car charger, plug one end into the power pack’s charging socket and the other end into the vehicle’s lighter outlet (vehicle’s engine should be running first). Charge for about 1 to 2 hours after (charged) light comes on.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
USED AS AN EMERGENCY JUMP STARTER:
Jump starting instructions.
NOTE: Always recharge power pack for 10 hours before using for the first
time.
- Always put the vehicle’s hand brake on.
- Set vehicle in “park” (neutral if manual transmission).
- Turn ignition and electrical accessories off.
- Protect eyes, i.e. safety goggles/glasses.
- Always attach leads as follows: Attach the positive (red +) clamp to the positive terminal onto the vehicle’s battery.
- Attach the negative (black -) clamp to the engine block or frame of vehicle. Make sure that the cables are not in the path of moving parts or fan, or hot components.
- Make sure that no-one is near the battery, then start your vehicle.
- Once the vehicle is started, disconnect the negative (black -) clamp.
- Then, disconnect the positive (red +) clamp.
- Replace the clamps into the storage areas.
NOTE: Should the vehicle refuse to start within six seconds, do not persist. Let the power pack battery.cool for three minutes before attempting to start vehicle again. Should this recommendation not be followed, damage to the unit may occur.
USED AS A MULTI-PURPOSE POWER SUPPLY:
- The power pack is also a portable power source for all 12 V/D.C. accessories equipped with a cigarette lighter plug. The D.C. outlet has an automatic overload protection of 12 amps.
- To power the supply socket turn the power switch on.
USED AS AN ALTERNATIVE POWER SUPPLY FOR VEHICLES:
The power pack is an ESSENTIAL tool for all who replace automobile batteries.
Many vehicles have electronic components with memory, such as alarm systems,
computers, radios, phones, etc., and when the vehicle’s battery is removed,
memory is lost. However, if the in-car charger lead is plugged from the power
pack to the cigarette lighter outlet on the vehicle, the memories can be
saved. Refer to vehicle manufacturer’s service manual for instructions.
NOTE:
- On some vehicles the ignition must be switched to position I or II to power the cigarette lighter socket)
- A defective battery may refuse to accept a charge from the power pack.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM SOLUTION:
One or two charge indicator lights come on, I plug in the charger for 24 hours and there is no change in status of lights. Check charger to see if it is charging. Charger should be warm. Some chargers have a fuse at the plugs tip. Check fuse by unscrewing the tip of the plug. Replace if necessary.Charger works well but still no change in status of charge indicator lights. Possible defective battery or faulty breaker. Try using a device (such as a light) with a lighter plug on it to see if it works. Should it work, power pack breaker is OK and the battery is the problem. No charger indicator lights come, but when the wall charger is plugged into the power pack, the lights come on. The internal battery of the power pack needs to be replaced. Power pack is fully charged but has no power. Check where the wire meets the jaw on the booster clip. Make sure they are well crimped. When trying to use an accessory through the cigarette lighter outlet on the power pack, clicking is heard from inside the power pack. The accessory is drawing more than 12 amps, causing the internal circuit breaker to cycle ON and OFF. There may be a problem with the accessory (such as a short circuit) that is causing the overload condition. Check accessory before continuing.

How many jump starts can a fully charged power pack do before needing to be recharged?
0 to 30. Factors are temperature, general condition of vehicle, engine type and size. -
Can the power pack’s battery be replaced?
Yes. NOTE: The battery is a consumable item and is not covered by the warranty. -
Can the power pack be recycled?
Yes, the environment was one of our main concerns in the development and designing of the power pack. Most battery outlets can dispose of this product at its life’s end. -
What is the ideal in-use storage temperature of the power pack?
Room temperature. The power pack will also operate at temperatures below zero, however, its power will be lessened. Intense heat will activate self- discharge. Power pack must be recharged before initial use. -
I have a regular battery charger, can I use it to recharge the power pack?
No, only the plug-in wall charger or the in-car charging lead should be used. -
Is the power pack idiot-proof?
No. Jump starting and other instructions must be followed.
