INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
- Disconnect the power supply before making wiring connections to prevent electrical shock and equipment damage.
- All units must be wired strictly in accordance with the wiring diagram furnished with the unit. Any wiring different from the wiring diagram could result in a hazard to persons and property.
- All wiring must be done with a wiring material having a temperature rating of at least 105°C.
CAUTION
As with any mechanical equipment, personal injury can result from contact with sharp sheet metal edges. Be careful when you handle this equipment.
IMPORTANT
- The use of this manual is specifically intended for a qualified installation and service agency. All installation and service of these units must be performed by a qualified installation and service agency.
- These instructions must also be used in conjunction with the unit Installation and Service Manual originally shipped with the unit, in addition to any other accompanying component supplier literature.
Application
The SL-2000-P Photoelectric Duct Smoke Detector is designed to detect the presence of smoke in the air duct. Once the smoke is sensed, the smoke detector will de-energize the unit. To reset the unit, the manual reset button on the detector must be pressed and the alarm condition reset on the main unit controller.
Location, Installation, Testing, and Maintenance of Smoke Detector
- Prior to installation of the smoke detector, please review the component supplier (vendor) literature that shipped with the smoke detector.
- Locate and install the sensor as described in those instructions.
- The wiring of the sensor to the unit should follow those instructions with connections as follows:

18| 503 - Once the sensor is properly installed and wired, refer to the vendor literature for testing and maintenance of the sensor to ensure proper operation and protection throughout the life of the equipment.
