LECTRO VL-DVDPL External DVD/CD Reader and Burner
Introduction
Note:
- Don’t support the blue-ray format
- Don’t put it on unstable surface.
- Don’t put the item by the strong magnetic objects.
- Keep the product steady on the desktop.
- The maximum readable capacity of the item is 8.5G
- For Apple MacBook Type-C interface, please eject disk form your computer.
- For desktops, please connect the back USB port of the mainboard instead of front USB interface.
- Inside loser light source may be harmful to the eyes, please don’t look it directly.
- Don’t put the item on the vulnerable squeeze place to ensure successfully normal use.

Instructions
- Step 1: Please connect to the USB port of the computer via a standard USB data cable. The computer display lower right corner should appear device icon.
- Step 2: Click on the desktop, open the “My Computer”, in “the mobile storage device” should display the drive icon.
- Step 3: Click on this icon button, right click drive icon, please choose “pop-up”, then it will read the disk.
Possible Problems & Solutions
- For the desktop computer, please plug the USB cable to the USB interface behind the computer host(Pic 2), rather than the front one
- When the input ports are not enough of your computer, you should connect the CD to the computer input port directly, don’t use other device to connect, such as USB HUB
- Note that CD Drive cannt be used through the adapter in order to make sure of sufficient power supply.
- If you are using Apple laptop, you must choose such cable-free transfer(Pic 1), not the ones with cable
- This product is equipped with USB3.0 & Type-C interface. Both of them can be plug and play
Precautions
The external drive depends on whether the operating system of your computer
have the function of detecting other device, otherwise you need to download
the driver. Generally speaking, almost all of the older operating system could
recognize the DVD-RW through direct installation or external connection. So if
the operating system of your computer has the drivers or has the ability to
download drivers, the external CD/DVD drive will work.
Methods to Resolve Exceptions
Please make sure your computer have downloaded CD/DVD driver before using the CD drive. If your computer don’t have the driver, we would send you the link to download the driver.Please make sure the laptop possess sufficient capacity, or it may cause the device cannt be recognized. The newly released Windows system has interrupted the use of external DVD media player software. If you are using Windows 10 or above system, please install the
VLC Media Player to play DVD and CD.
Please connect the item to the direct USB port of your computer. If you
connect it to a USB hub or extended card, it may not recognize the item, or
cannt read the CD/DVD
Please Note:
Please use the external DVD/CD drive on other ports or use several discs to
test it if the item doesn’t work.
Troubleshooting:
- Why the computer doesn’t recognize the external DVD/CD drive?
- A small number of high version systems doesn’t equip with a driver, please download a driver such as Driver Genius. Here is the link for the driver: http://www.driver-soft.com/ Please restart your computer after installing the driver. Then check device with mobile storage in your computer whether it displays the drive or not.
- Why the external DVD/CD drive doesn’t read the disc?|
- Some systems didn’t integrate the Media Player APP. Please download a media player to play DVDs and CDs. Such as VLC Media Player would help you read the disc. Here is the link for VLC Media Player: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/
- Why the external DVD/CD drive still doesn’t work after installing the driver and media player?
- The low power supply may cause failure to recognize the drive or read the disc. Please charge your computer when connecting with this external DVD/CD drive. Please hook up the drive to the USB port on your computer directly, don’t use any device to connect such as extension cord, USB hub. For the desktops, please connect the device to the USB port of the motherboard for normal use
