1 Product Introduction
1A Open Package Inspection
Open the package to check If there are any disabling masks or transportation damage In the terminals and fittings. Procedures :

Open the package.

Disable and check the following Items(SubJect to actual product configuration).
• Base host • Product instruction
• RJ22 to DB9 serial port cable(Optlonal configuration)
• USB Type B cable (Optional configuration) -
Save the transportation package and packing material for second use.

- APOS A8 charging Connect the base with the power adapter, then place APOS AS on the base to get charged.
- Serves as extended communication ports of APOS AB: Network port, serial port, USB port, etc.
- Typical applications: Enables APOS AB to communicate with host computer via serial port, and get Ethernet through Network port.
- The base has no dialing function. Its Ethernet must be connected to a router to access the Internet.
3 Product Installation Instructions
3.1 The Pairing of Base
3.1.1 Prepare for Base Pairing
- First, power on the base, then check the indicator light status after 30 sacs.
- If the red indicator light is on, it indicates the base is available for paring.
- •If the green indicator light is on, it indicates the base is successfully paired. If the base is to be paired with anotherAPOS A8, long press on the [Pairing] button to reboot the base.VVhen the red indicator light is on, pair APOS A8 with the base. Pair the base after the red light is on for 3 mins, otherwise the pairing condition would still be as the original.
- Refer to the label information for base name on the back. The form is as “Product Model No. + Product SN”, e.g. : A8BASE195A013U5R888.
- Illumination of two color indicator lights :
3.1.2 Pair and Connect Base with APOS AS Method1 :
- Connect the base via barcode scanning on the back
- Enter base interface via the drop-down box where shows the available bases [Stepl].
- If it shows No Available Base or the expected base is not listed, tab [Refresh] button [Step2].
- Tab the icon of [Scan Connect] on the top right hand corner to scan once there is an available list [Step3].
- Scan the barcode on the back of the base[Step4]
- Wait for the connection between base and APOS A8 [Step.%
- The successful pairing is as shown is the figure[Stepe]
Method 2 : Select and connect the base manually
- Enter into the base interface via the drop-down box where shows the available base [Stepl].
- Select the target base [Step2]
- Normally it takes 30 to 40 secs for the connection between devices.
When the green light is on, it indicates the successful connection.
3.2 Disconnect the Base Instruction
- Only the connected APOS AS could be disconnected with the base, When APOS A8 disconnects the base, the base will restart and change its conditions to “disconnected” with the red light on. As shown in the following figures :
3.3 Check the Port Status
After the base is connected to APOS AB, we can check whether the USB host is
connected, •
Ethernet cable is plugged in and the base version information, as shown in the
following figures :

3.5 Ethernet Parameter Setting
- In DHCP IP mold, only base IP information is needed. In Static IP mold, all valid parameters are mandatory. Please note that normally base IP is obtained rather than set. If the parameter value remains the same after returning from successful setting, it indicates that the corresponding parameters are invalid. Procedures ; Select [Static IP], input the parameters needed, tab[Save] [Stepl],and wait while updating base parameters.[Step2]

(21:The base fails to connect APOS At Cause ‘
1: APOS AS WLAN is not yet opened. Solution: Open WLAN via the drop-down box of APOS A8 . Cause
2: APOS A8 is placed too far away from base. Solution: Place and pair the devices within 5 meters. • -
Q2:It displays that base is not connected to APOS A8, while the green indicator light of base flashes. Cause
1: The two devices are too far away from each other that its connection fails. Solution: Place the two devices near, better within 5 meters. Cause 2: The APOS AB is not connected to the base . Solution: Check if the information of last 12 digits of the connected base in APOS AS is the same with that of the SN on the back of the base. If it is the same, go through the cause
1. If it is not the same, it indicates that the base is not correctly connected to the APOS AS and connect them according to chapter 3 -
• Q3:No base information found in the drop-down box menu of APOS Af I. Cause: The version of APOS A8 is too old. Solution: Get APOS AS software updated that the firmware ota version is newer that 6.4.0 and epay patch version newer than 84. Please consult after-sales personnel about the version information.

Q4:Device plugged in USB port cannot be recognized. Cause: The USB port only supports for products of company such as the scanning gun (e.g. BR200-B) , scanning box(e.g.DCS20), E830MIS, and USB devices of serial ports such as CH34x, PL230, FTDI, CP210X. Other devices are not supported for now. Solution: tf new USB devices need to be developed, please consult after-sales personnel.

Q5:How to connect one paired base with another A8? Solution: After turning on the base, long press on [Pair] button for 5 secs. Q6:How to confirm the base connected with APOS A8?
5 Notes
- Prevent the terminal from sun exposure, high temperature, moister and other mean conditions.
- Cut off the power before cleaning the device and wipe the main body with dry cloth.
- When the following abnormal phenomena occur, stop running the device Immediately, cut off the power supply, and report to the service provider as soon as possible:
- harsh noise heard during operation.
2 ) Impurities or water found In the machine.
3 ) Unpleasant smell found during operation.
6 Delivery and Storage
Deliver the device in normal way, avoiding rain and snow, sun exposure and
mechanical impact.
The product should be stored in the original box. The box should be at least
15cm away from the floor, at least 50cm from the wall, heat source, cold
source, window or air inlet.
7 Power Adapter
The base can only be connected to one of the adapter as below, which is provided with APPS A8.
WARNING
The power adapter provided with APOS A8 is specially designed for Ingenico APOS AS BASE-WF4. Do not use any other power supply. The use of a power supply with apparently similar voltage/current characteristics may damage your termInal.
RF exposure
The antenna of the productunder normal use condition Is at least 20cm away from the body of the user.WamIng statement to the user for keeping 20cm separation distance and the prohibition of operating to a person has been printed on the user manual.So,this product under normal use Is located on electromagnetic far field between the human body.

The CE marking indicates APOS A8 BASE-VVF4complies with the requirements of European Directive 2014/53/EU on Radio Equipment for: • The protection of the health and the safety of the user and any other person. • The protection requirements with respect to electromagnetic compatibility. And complies with harmonized standards.
