HENDI 198247 Chefs Torch Instruction Manual

IMPORTANT

Read these instructions for use carefully so as to familiarize yourself with the appliance before use & connecting it to its gas container. Keep these instructions for future use. Some parts will be very hot during and after use. Keep young children away. Only use in well ventilated areas.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Fuel consumption: 100g/hr

Appliance Assembly

  1. Turn control knob to closed “right clockwise) position.
  2. Check the .0′ ring seals before connection a gas cartridge to the appliance.
  3. Change or reconnect the gas cartridge outside and away from other people.
  4. Align cartridge collar notch with locator tab on the Multi-Purpose Torch and keep the cartridge upright, push down gently and twist the unit to the right until ifs locked 135 degrees).
  5. Be sure to check that no gas is leaking. If there is a gas leak on the appliance (smell of gas), take it outside immediately into a well-ventilated, flame free location where the leak may be detected and stopped.

If you wish to check for leaks on your appliance, do it outside. Do not try to detect leaks with a flame, use soapy water. Any leakage will show up as bubbles around leakage area. If you are in doubt or you can hear or smell gas, do not attempt to light the appliance. Remove gas cartridge from the appliance and contact your local dealer.

Ignition

  1. Turn the knob slowly counterclockwise to start gas flowing then pull the -IGNITION” trigger in the center of the torch until it clicks.
  2. Repeat if unit fails to light.

Use

The appliance is now ready for use. Adjust the flame between “right- and “left- Raw and high heat) position as required. Be aware of flaring which may occur during the 2 seconds of warm-up period and during which the appliance should not be angles more than 15 degrees from the vertical (upright) position. After running for 2 seconds, the appliance is preheated and can be used without flaring.

To Shut Off

  1. Close gas supply off completely by turning gas control knob in the “clockwise” direction.
  2. Separate the appliance from the gas cartridge after use.

After Use

  1. Check the appliance is clean and dry.
  2. Store in a cool, well ventilated place after separating the cartridge from the appliance and placing the cap.

Gas Cartridge Care

  1. The best gas fuel mix is Hendi butane gas cartridge (vapour pressure-butanel, Hendi item number: 199039.
  2. Inspect the gas cartridge far damage or rust before use.
  3. Read the instructions on the gas cartridge before use.
  4. Do not store gas cartridges in areas where temperatures may rise over 50 degrees such as inside the boot of a vehicle parked in the hot sun, near cookers, burners, fat fryers or in direct sunlight.
  5. Detach the Gas Torch from the gas cartridge when not in use and stare in cool dry place.
  6. Do not incinerate even when empty.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Separate appliance from gas cartridge before cleaning.
  2. Keep clean and free of dust and dirt which may affect performance.
  3. Clean with damp towel and mild detergent. Do not submerse in fluids or put in dishwasher. Wipe dry after cleaning.
  4. Please note there are no serviceable parts. Do not modify this appliance.
