SPACEMAN Redstone Germanium Preamp
The Redstone is a flexible preamp with a 3-band tone stack powered by a hand- selected NOS germanium transistor. As an alternate reimagining of our Mercury platform, the Redstone retains the beautiful sheen, and muscular growl of its older sister while also expanding on its tonal range. The discrete opamp design gives an extremely unique harmonic profile with a distinct 3D character. With tons of gain on tap, the Redstone is easy to press into a variety of roles from treble boost, to line driver, EQ, or overdrive.
- VOL – Easily set the output level exactly where you want it.
- GAIN – Provides 40dB of boost. Enough to quickly overdrive the front end of a tube amp.
- LOW – Turn it up to add some boom & bloom, or dial it back for increased tightness and attack.
- MID – From scooped to ruler flat. Highly interactive with all the other controls, especially GAIN.
- HIGH – Cut treble for a warm, fat sound, or emphasize bite and harmonic sparkle.
The Redstone requires external power of 9-12V DC, negative center via the
2.1mm jack. The Redstone has a high 1M ohm input resistance and a maximum
current draw of 32mA when the effect is engaged. Please contact Spaceman if
you are unsure about your DC adapter.

and clean. Ideal as a starting point for those who value natural transparency.
Crunchy Gain Big scooped overdrive with plenty of grit and bloom.
Mercury Retrograde A beautiful homage to the harmonic growl of the Mercury IV that emphasizes midrange warmth and deep lows.
Fat Bass Bring some bounce and clack to bass guitars with ease.
