Quick Guide
The Road Angel TM Hardwire Kit is designed for use with Road Angel TM
products that require a USB Type C 5V connection. Depending on the device you
are using this hardwiring kit with, it will require either a “switched” or
“constant” power source. Please see the below list as a guide:
Road Angel TMPure Touch – Switched Positive
Road Angel TM Halo Ultra – Constant Positive
Road Angel TM Aura HD4K – Constant Positive Alternately refer to the
specific, device’s user guide regarding power source information. The
Hardwiring Kit has a built-in low voltage battery cut–off protection circuit
(11.3V)
This hardwiring kit is designed for the Road Angel TM Pure Touch, Halo Ultra &
Aura HD4K ONLY. It uses a 5V Type C USB Connector. Use with other devices may
cause damage.
Fitting instructions 1
STEP 1
Locate the fuse box within your vehicle (usually within the lower dashboard,
boot compartments or in the engine bay) which will have a detailed chart with
the fuse layout or check your vehicles operating manual.
STEP 2
Use the fuse box chart to pick a fuse which is associated with a function of
the device you are using this hardwiring kit with, it will require either a
“switched” or “constant” power source. Please note: The rating of the
‘original fuse’ that is being removed is no importance to this install.
STEP 3
Select one of the supplied fuse cables that match the fuse requirements of
your fuse box (STO/C or Mini).
The pre-installed 2A fuse in the supplied cable should not be replaced unless
damaged.
STEP 4
Removed the fuse from the fuse box and place fuse into spare slot on supplied
fuse tap cable. Please note: If the original fuse is a low profile Mini type,
then a standard mini
fuse of the same rating needs to be sourced separately. Insert the fuse cable
into the fuse box (where the fuse has been removed from).

STEP 5
Ensure all excess cable is located out of the way to cause any obstruction to
driver and passengers. Connect the USB connector into the device (see user
manual of device for
optimum installation position). Tuck the power cable neatly under the roof
lining, behind the ‘A’ pillar trim and down the side panel towards the foot
well position hiding behind all seats where possible to avoid obstruction.
STEP 6
Once you have located the power cable close to the fuse box, take the black
wire (negative) and find a suitable position to mount the spade connector to
the vehicle bodywork (normally a screw or bolt can be removed and then
reinserted with the spade connector underneath). Take the red wire (positive)
and connect directly to the red bullet connector of the fuse tap cable you
have already inserted into the fuse box.
STEP 7
Ensure all excess cables are neatly tucked away and secured to avoid
obstruction while operating the vehicle.
Installing the cable needs to be done carefully to avoid damage.

Ensure the ignition is off before installing the Hardwire Kit.

Check the polarity and grounding is correct before testing the installation.

Avoid using a fuse connection for a safety-critical circuit, e.g. Airbag.

Not designed for installation to positive ground circuits.

Any modifications to the Pure Touch, Halo Ultra & Aura HD4K Hardwiring kit and its supplied accessories will void the product warranty. (extension of the hardwiring is permitted to suit the vehicle type).
