MAIN FUNCTIONS

PARKSHIELD® SUPPORT

• The TrueCam Hardwire Kit supports the TrueCam ParkShield® advanced parking mode function, which is automatically activated when the ignition is switched off.
• The TrueCam Hardwire Kit is also compatible with most similar functions from other manufacturers (referred to in this text as automatic parking mode).

UNIVERSAL CONNECTION VIA USB-A

• Thanks to the USB-A output, you can use any dashcam power cable.
• For automatic parking mode to work properly, however, we recommend connecting the dashcam
• with the cable included in the TrueCam Hardwire Kit.

STABLE OUTPUT VOLTAGE

• The TrueCam Hardwire Kit supplies a stable voltage of 5V.
• It is compatible with both the 12V battery that common passenger cars have and vehicles with a 24V battery.

POWER-ON DELAY

• Thanks to a 5-second delay, the TrueCam Hardwire Kit protects your dashcam from unnecessary restarts that can occur when the engine starts or shuts off.
• The TrueCam Hardwire Kit also provides a 3-second delay for switching between driving mode and parking mode, which will help prevent accidental mode switching.

BASIC SETTINGS

PARKING ALARM

• The TrueCam Hardwire Kit can send a signal to the dashcam when the ignition is turned off.
• This means the dashcam will automatically switch to parking mode when the ignition is turned off without the need to set it manually. The parking signal can be set to NORMAL or REVERSE mode with a small slide switch.
• In NORMAL mode, the TrueCam Hardwire Kit is compatible with all cameras that support ParkShield® and most cameras that support automatic parking mode.
• REVERSE mode is designed for when your dashcam works in the exact opposite way (records in driving mode with the ignition off and records in parking mode with the ignition on). In this case, slide the PARKING MODE SWITCH to the second position.

CAR BATTERY PROTECTION

• To protect the battery from discharging, the TrueCam Hardwire Kit switches off the dashcam if the car battery voltage drops below the value you select.
• There are 4 options to choose from, which can be easily set by moving the switch to the selected position.

1. For car batteries with a voltage of 12V: 11.8V, 12.0V, 12.2V, and 12.4V
2. For car batteries with a voltage of 24V: 23.6V, 24.0V, 24.4V and 24.8V

INSTALLATION

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

We recommend that installation be performed by a professional technician. Improper installation can lead to a malfunction of the electrical system in the vehicle, or other complications or damage.

• Check your vehicle’s fuse diagram and hardwire kit wiring options.
• The procedure outlined in the manual is general and varies from vehicle to vehicle.

If you are using a dashcam with automatic parking mode and want the camera to automatically switch between driving mode and parking mode:

1. For correct grounding attach the BLACK cable to the vehicle’s metal structure (preferably the ground bolt on the vehicle body).
2.  Connect the RED cable to a fuse that is constantly powered (usually a green 30 A fuse).
3.  Connect the YELLOW cable to a fuse that is powered only when the ignition is switched on (usually a blue 15 A fuse).
4. Connect the TrueCam Hardwire Kit to your dashcam with the power cord.

If you are using a dashcam with automatic parking mode and want the camera to open the rate in driving mode even after the ignition is switched off:

1. For correct grounding attach the BLACK cable to the vehicle’s metal structure (preferably the ground bolt on the vehicle body).
2. Connect the RED and YELLOW cables to fuses that are constantly powered (usually a green 30 A fuse).
3. Connect the TrueCam Hardwire Kit to your dashcam with the power cord.

If you are using a dashcam with automatic parking mode and want the camera to operate in driving mode and turn off when the ignition is turned off:

1. For correct grounding attach the BLACK cable to the vehicle’s metal structure, (preferably the ground bolt on the vehicle body).
2. Connect the RED and YELLOW cables to fuses that are powered only when the ignition is switched on (usually a blue 15A fuse).
3. Connect the TrueCam Hardwire Kit to your dashcam with the power cord.
4. Turn off automatic parking mode in the dashcam settings.

If you are using a dashcam without automatic parking mode and want to use the True-

Cam Hardwire Kit as a standard hardwire kit:

1. Attach the BLACK cable to the vehicle’s metal structure.
2. You do not need to connect the YELLOW (ACC) cable or you can combine it with the RED cable.
3. Connect the TrueCam Hardwire Kit to your dashcam with the power cord.
