Installation Instructions

Step 1: Park on a level surface, allow the motorcycle to cool completely.

Step 2: Remove side covers and seat.

Step 3: Decide which side of the trunk you would like to install the flag mount.

Step 4: Place masking tape in area shown in Fig.1. Place mounting tab in position making sure to align the front edge to the body line of the trunk, shown in Fig.2. The mounting tab should not overhang the round corner transition of the body panel.

Step 5: Mark the center of the hole in the mount tab slot. Remove the mounting tab and drill a 1/4” (6mm) hole. This will only go through the top wall of the trunk, do not over drill. Remove tape.

Step 6: The trunk side panel will either need to be removed or flexed out of the way to gain access to the mounting location. In order to flex the panel, remove (1) plastic rivet show in Fig.3 and remove (3) Phillips screws shown in Fig.4. Set aside, these will be reused.

Step 7: Place the included spacer into the hole where the screw was removed. Be sure the stepped end of the spacer is seated into the hole, oriented as shown in Fig.6.

Step 8: Carefully separate the top edge of the trunk side panel to access and remove the inner screw shown in Fig.5. This screw will not be reused.

Step 9: Reposition the trunk side panel making sure to clear the spacer underneath. Test fit the mounting tab over the previously drilled hole using the included M6x50mm screw to check alignment with the tapped hole the screw threads into.

Step 10: After confirming alignment, use an amonia based window cleaner to remove all wax and adhesive residue from the trunk panel in the area the mounting tab will be adhered. Remove tape backing from the mounting tab, adhere the mounting tab to the side panel, secure with the included M6x50mm screw with the nylon washer between the screw head and the mounting tab. Do not overtighten. Refer to Fig.7.

Step 11: Install flag mast using included 1/4-20×3/4” screw, lock washer and steel washer (or hardware included with flag kit).

Step 12: Route wire from lighted flag through trunk and down to the battery. Connect the flag to the battery per the instructions included with the lighted flag kit.
