CARVIN audio WM5 Wireless Microphone System User Guide
INTRODUCTION
The WM5 Wireless Microphone System will transform your existing wired microphone into a wireless microphone, giving you the freedom and the simplicity you are looking for. The 5GHz frequency band offers excellent range up to 200 ft* and is less crowded than the 2GHz band, reducing your chances of interference from other wireless audio gear. The extremely low noise design and compact size coupled with an intuitive set up makes going wireless an easy process. The WM5 is compatible with the WG5 Wireless Guitar/Bass System.
OPERATION
Power On/Off: First, press and hold the POWER button on the transmitter until
the green ID LED turns on. There are 4 channels available with CH1 being the
default channel. To change channels, simply press the CH/Pair button once to
change channels. Once the desired channel is selected, press and hold the
POWER button on the receiver until the matching ID LED turns on. The units’
blue LED halos will light if units are paired correctly. To change channels
once the units are turned on, simply press the ID button on the transmitter to
change channels.
The receiver ID LED will automatically change color to match the ID LED on the
transmitter. To turn the system off, hold down the POWER button on both units
until the ID LED turns off. If there is a problem with the transmitter and
receiver not connecting, simply power off both units and repeat the above
steps to connect the WM5 system.
BATTERY CHARGING
The WM5 Wireless Microphone System contains an internal re-chargeable battery for up to 4 hours of continuous use. To charge the battery, simply connect the included USB charging cable to the transmitter and receiver and then connect to a standard USB charging source. Typical charge time is 100 minutes for a full charge. The ID LED will give the following battery status indicators:
- Climbing Green LEDs / Solid Red LED Halo: Unit is charging
- Solid Green LEDs: Unit is fully charged
DURING USE
- Solid Blue Halo: Power on / battery charged
- Red Flashing Halo: Battery at 10% charge

Connecting Up – Single Channel
Connecting Up – Multiple Channels
To connect multiple WM5 to a mixing console, we recommend the use of short XLR
patch cables to connect the receivers to the mixing console. The width of the
receiver is too large for the spacing on most consoles and would require
skipping channels in order to make room for the next receiver. By using XLR
patch cables, you can keep the microphones grouped together. Use up to 4 WM5
wireless systems.
