USING THE FREEZER CORRECTLY
PLACEMENT
- Before use, remove all packing materials, including bottom cushions, foam pads and tapes from inside of the freezer; tear off the protective film on the door and the freezer body.
- Keep away from heat and avoid direct sunlight. Do not place the freezer in a damp or wet place, to prevent rust or reduction of insulating effect.
- Do not spray or wash the freezer; do not place the freezer in a wet area where it could easily be splashed with water, as this could impair the electrical insulation properties of the freezer.
- The freezer must be placed in a well-ventilated indoor space, with a floor that is firm and level (turn the feet left or right to adjust the height if the floor is uneven).
- The space above the freezer must be greater than 30 cm, and the freezer should be placed against a wall with a clearance of more than 10 cm to facilitate heat dissipation.
Precautions before installation:
The information in this user manual is only for reference. Your product may differ in some details. Before installing and adjusting accessories, make sure the freezer is disconnected from the power supply.
LEVELLING FEET
Schematic diagram of the levelling feet
(The illustration above is only for reference. The actual configuration will depend on your particular product or statement by the distributor.) Adjusting procedures:
- Turn the feet clockwise to raise the freezer;
- Turn the feet counter-clockwise to lower the freezer;
- Adjust the right and left feet as described above to level the freezer.
REVERSING THE DOOR
- Turn off the freezer.
- Secure the door with tape.
- Unscrew the screws from the top cover and remove the top cover.
- Unscrew the screws from the top hinge and remove the hinge.
- Remove the door. Unscrew the screws from the bottom hinge and remove the bottom hinge and levelling feet.
- Refit the levelling feet and bottom hinge on the opposite side.
- Assemble the door stopper and hinge sleeve on the opposite side.
- Lower the door carefully on to the bottom hinge vertically. Fix the upper hinge, and refit the top cover on the freezer.
USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Before starting for the first time, let the freezer stand still for half an hour before connecting it to the power supply.
- Before adding any fresh or frozen foods, leave the freezer to run for 2–3 hours, or more than 4 hours in summer when the ambient temperature is high.
- Leave enough space for convenient opening of the door and drawers or as specified by the distributor.
ENERGY-SAVING TIPS
- The appliance should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing appliances or heating ducts, and out of direct sunlight.
- Let hot food cool to room temperature before placing it in the appliance. Overloading the appliance forces the compressor to run for longer. Food that freezes too slowly may lose quality, or spoil.
- Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe containers dry before placing them in the appliance. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
- Appliance storage containers should not be lined with aluminium foil, wax paper or paper towelling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the appliance less efficient.
- Organize and label food to reduce the time that the door is left open. Remove all the items that you need at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.
LAYOUT AND CONTROLS
KEY COMPONENTS
(The illustration above is only for reference. The actual configuration will
depend on your particular product or statement by the distributor.)
Freezing compartment
-
The low-temperature freezing compartment can keep food fresh for a long time and is mainly used to store frozen foods and make ice.
The most energy-efficient position to place food is as shown in the illustration above. -
The freezing compartment is suitable for storing meat, fish, rice balls and other food that is not intended to be consumed in the short term.
-
Large cuts of meat should preferably be divided into smaller pieces for easy access. Please note that food should be consumed within its recommended storage time.
Note: Adding too much food to the freezer after it is started for the first time may adversely affect freezing performance. Food should not be stored so that it blocks the air outlet, otherwise the freezing performance will also be adversely affected.
Temperature control knob
- If the ambient temperature is too high, or in summer, the thermostat can be adjusted to setting 4.
- If the ambient temperature is too low, or in winter, the thermostat can be adjusted to setting 1.
- Recommended setting: mid-range.
FREEZER MAINTENANCE AND CARE
GENERAL CLEANING
- Dust should be removed regularly from behind and beneath the freezer to improve the cooling effect and save energy.
- Check the door gasket regularly to make sure there is no debris. Clean the oor gasket with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or diluted detergent.
- The interior of the freezer should be cleaned regularly to avoid odour.
- Turn off the power before cleaning the interior, remove all food, drinks, shelves, drawers, etc.
- Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean the inside of the freezer, using two tablespoons of baking soda in a litre of warm water. Then rinse with water and wipe clean. After cleaning, open the door and let the interior dry naturally before turning on the power.
- For areas that are difficult to clean inside the freezer (such as narrow channels, gaps or corners), it is recommended that they are wiped regularly with a soft cloth, soft brush, etc., or if necessary in combination with suitable tools (such as thin scrapers) to ensure no contaminants or bacterial accumulation in these areas.
- Do not use soap, detergent, abrasive powder, spray cleaner, etc., as these may cause odours in the interior of the freezer and contaminate the food.
- Clean the bottle frame, shelves and drawers with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or diluted detergent. Dry with a soft cloth or dry naturally.
- Wipe the outer surface of the freezer with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water, detergent, etc., and then wipe dry.
- Do not use hard brushes, scourers, wire brushes, abrasives (such as toothpaste), organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone, banana oil, etc.), boiling water, acid or alkaline cleaners, which may damage the freezer surface and interior. Boiling water and organic solvents such as benzene may deform or damage plastic parts.
- Do not rinse directly with water or other liquids during cleaning to avoid short circuits or affect electrical insulation after immersion.
DEFROSTING
- Turn off the freezer.
- Remove the food from the freezer and place it somewhere cool to prevent it from defrosting.
- Clear the drain pipe (use soft materials to prevent damage to the liner). Prepare the water containers for defrosting.
- You can let the freezer defrost naturally at ambient air temperature, or remove the frost with a scraper (use a plastic or wooden scraper to avoid damaging the liner or pipe).
- You can also use the appropriate amount of hot water to speed up defrosting, and a dry towel to mop up the water after defrosting.
- After defrosting, put the food back in the cabinet, and turn on the freezer.
WHEN NOT IN USE
- Power failure: In the event of a power cut, even in summer, food inside the appliance can be kept for several hours without defrosting. During the power cut the door should be opened as infrequently as possible, and no more fresh food should be put into the appliance.
- Long-term non-use: Unplug the appliance and clean it, then leave the door open to prevent odour.
- Moving: Before moving the freezer, take all items out of it, raise the levelling feet, close the doors and seal them with tape. While moving the appliance, do not lie it upside down or horizontally, or subject it to vibration. Do not tilt it more than 45°. Do not lift the appliance by the door and hinge when moving it.
(The appliance must run continuously once it is started. Generally, the operation of the appliance must not be interrupted, otherwise the service life may be impaired.)
TROUBLESHOOTING
Appliance not working| Check whether the appliance is connected to power and the plug is firmly inserted in the socket.
Check whether the voltage is too low.
Check whether there has been a power cut or individual circuits have tripped.
---|---
Odour| Food with a strong odour should be tightly wrapped. Check whether
there is any rotten food.
Clean the inside of the freezer.
Prolonged operation of the compressor
| Prolonged operation of the compressor is normal in summer when the ambient temperature is high. Too much food may have been placed in the appliance at the same time. Food must be allowed to cool down before being put into the appliance.
The doors are opened too frequently.
Light does not turn on
| Check whether the freezer is connected to the power supply and whether the
light is damaged. Have the light replaced by a specialist.
Door does not close properly| The door is obstructed by food packages.
Too much food has been placed inside. The freezer is tilted.
---|---
Loud noise| Check whether the floor is level and whether the freezer is
firmly supported. Check whether accessories are placed in the proper
locations.
Door seal is leaking| Remove foreign matter from the door seal.
Heat the door seal and then cool it to restore its shape (use a hair dryer or a hot towel for heating).
Cabinet exterior is hot
| Heat dissipation from the built-in condenser via the housing, which is normal. When the exterior becomes hot due to high ambient temperature, storage of too much food, or shutdown of the compressor, make sure there is good ventilation to facilitate heat dissipation.
Surface condensation
| Condensation on the exterior surface and door seals of the freezer is normal when the ambient humidity is too high. Just wipe off the condensate with a clean towel.
Abnormal noise
| Buzzing: The compressor may make a buzzing sound during operation, which may be particularly loud during starting or stopping. This is normal. Creaking: Refrigerant flowing inside the appliance may produce a creaking sound, which is normal.
