Controls
Step 2: Controls
- INPUT jack is used to connect your instrument’s cable with a’ ” TS plug.
- MUTE button mutes the output of the amplifier for silent tuning or for switching instruments. The CLIP LED ring around the button lights up to indicate clipping at the INPUT jack. If the CLIP LED lights up consistently, press the -15 dB button to reduce the gain at the INPUT jack.
- The -15 dB button reduces the INPUT jack’s sensitivity by 15 decibels for use with active pickups. Press this button if the CLIP LED consistently lights up to indicate that the instrument signal is overloading the preamp circuit.
- The GAIN knob sets the signal level going into the amplifier’s preamp section.
- COMP button activates the internal compressor when pressed. Use the compressor to even out and control dynamics in your signal for a more consistent sound. The THRESH LED lights up when the compressor is active and flickers when the input signal reaches the compressor threshold set by the COMP knob.
- COMP knob controls the amount of compression applied by the internal compressor. Rotate the knob clockwise for a more compressed sound. When the knob is set fully counter-clockwise, no compression will be applied.
- ULTRA LOW button boosts the extremely low end of your sound when pressed. Press the ULTRA LOW button to add body and thickness to your instrument’s tone.
- The BASS knob controls the bass frequencies of your sound. Rotate the knob counterclockwise to cut bass frequencies or clockwise to boost bass frequencies.
- MID knob boosts or cuts the midrange frequencies controlled by the MID FREQ knob. Rotate the knob counterclockwise to cut the designated mid-range frequencies or clockwise to boost those mid-range frequencies.
- MID FREQ knob sets the mid-range frequency to be boosted or cut by the MID knob.
- The TREBLE knob controls the treble frequencies of your sound. Rotate the knob counterclockwise to cut treble frequencies or clockwise to boost treble frequencies.
- ULTRA HIGH boosts the high frequencies of your sound when pressed. Press the ULTRA HIGH to boost harmonics and add definition to your instrument’s sound.
- The MASTER knob controls the final output volume of the amplifier. Rotate the knob counter-clockwise to reduce volume and clockwise to increase the volume.
- The POWER switch turns the unit on and off. Always make sure the POWER switch is in the “Or position when initially connecting the unit to the mains power connection.
- POWER SOURCE accepts the included IEC power cable.
- VENTILATION FAN prevents the unit from overheating. The ventilation opening should not be blocked during operation.
- DI OUT can be used to connect the unit directly to a mixer or PA system using a balanced XLR connection.
- TUNER OUT sends out an unbalanced signal suitable for use with electronic tuners.
- FX INSERT SEND/RETURN creates a buffered serial loop for use with effects pedals or rackmount effects processors.
- AUX IN accepts line-level signals from MP3 players or other sound sources using RCA connectors.
- FOOT SW connection allows you to control the MUTE and FX INSERT effects loop functions remotely by using a dual footswitch with an ‘A” TRS connector (F5B10213 footswitch not included).
