DNA Metabolism Test

The cerascreen DNA Metabolism Test is a sample collection and send-in kit to determine your metabolic signature and your sporting type. The test serves to detect your individual genetic characteristics, which reflect the structure of your specific genes, from a saliva sample. Using these genotypes, the cerascreen ®.DNA Metabolism Test can provide an indication of your individual risk of becoming overweight, your sensitivity to fats and your sporting type.®

Information and instructions on the test

Read the Instructions for Use carefully before you begin and follow the listed steps.

WARNINGS

Store this kit out of reach of children.
This test is not suitable for children.
The kit may only be used for adults aged 18 and older.
This is a sample collection kit for personal single use only.
Danger of suffocation
If eyes or skin come into contact with the preservative liquid, rinse them with water and contact a doctor.
Do not ingest the liquid!
If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, use the kit only after consulting your therapist.

IMPORTANT

We can only analyse your sample if you activate your test with the test-ID of your test-ID card! More details on this can be found in step 2 + 3.
The sample should only be taken between Sunday and Tuesday (latest) and sent off on the same day. Please take into account any public holidays.
Before brushing your teeth, the sample should be collected. Please avoid the use of mouthrinses, mouthwashes, chewing gum or other substances refreshing your breath.
Do not eat, drink and smoke 30 minutes before sample taking, as this may lead to the falsification of results. If you have any questions visit our help website: help.cerascreen.com

Directions for Use

Check that all conditions are fulfilled for sample taking. Please read carefully the section “Information and instructions on the test”.
Are you a first-time customer? If so, create a user account at my.cerascreen.com or in the my cerascreen app to activate your test. You will find a step-by-step guide to creating an account in our Frequently Asked Questions at help.cerascreen.com.
Log into the my cerascreen app (Android, iOS) or my.cerascreen.com so that you can receive your test result. Go to Activate Test, enter the 12-digit ID number on your test ID card and then follow the instructions. Make sure that you activate the test on the sampling date.
Place all test kit items on a clean surface and check that none of the components are missing.
Carefully open the packaging of the DNA sampling kit from the end with the opening arrow („OPEN HERE“).
Pull the sampling stick out of the packaging by the handle. Make sure that the sponge head does not come into contact with any surface before sampling.
Insert the sponge head in front of the teeth past the oral vestibule (not into the throat) and as deep as comfortable. Proceed carefully to avoid the risk of suffocation.
Rub the DNA swab against the inside of your cheeks, over your gums and underneath your tongue for 60 SECONDS as you would use a toothbrush.
Now hold the tube upright to prevent the blue liquid from leaking out.
Unscrew the blue cap from the tube without touching the sponge. Put the sponge head into the tube and close the lid tightly.
Turn the sealed tube over and shake it vigorously 15 times.
Remove the square code adhesive label from the test-ID card and stick it, with the barcode along the tube, on the filled DNA collection tube. Make sure the barcode is visible as shown in the picture.
Then slide the sample tube into the larger transport tube and seal it well. Place the transport tube in the return envelope. Close the envelope carefully and send it immediately by post free of charge. Please check if the test has been activated and dispose of the used parts of the test kit in the household waste.
