Installation Guide
The Turntide Remote Monitoring Kit provides the easiest way to enable remote monitoring of HVAC equipment driven by the Smart Motor System.
Software Wrapped in Metal ™
The Turntide software-driven motor solution includes the Turntide Smart Motor and the Turntide Motor Controller, complete with networking and connection capabilities to Turntide Cloud Services. It is proven to significantly reduce energy consumption, dramatically reducing energy costs and carbon footprint resulting from the electric motor operation.
Overview
This Kit includes everything needed to connect a Smart Motor System to the
internet. Choose the Turntide-provided cellular service for hassle-free
network setup.
Once an internet connection is established, the Remote Monitoring Kit will
automatically connect to Turntide’s secure Cloud platform to provide you
remote access to your equipment data.

Everything commonly necessary to install the Remote Monitoring Kit is provided. The following is a list of components.
Step-by-Step Installation of Remote Monitoring Kit
Follow these simple step-by-step instructions to install the Turntide Remote Monitoring Kit (RMK) for most common applications. Follow all local codes and common installation procedures.
Install the Enclosure

Turn power to the unit off.| Install enclosure near the unit control panel –
either vertically or horizontally – using the external brackets and self-
tapping screws.| Install a nipple through the back of the enclosure or install
external flex from enclosure to unit.
Wire Components
Install new wires from R and C on the unit to the 24 volt terminal on the
Turntide Supervisor, R to the 24V H, and C to the 24L. Leave the existing
wires for the AC to DC converter on the terminals.
Note: 24-volt wiring is polarity sensitive. If wiring is terminated
incorrectly, it will damage the Turntide Supervisor or the control
transformer. 
Do NOT ground the internal panel of the enclosure.
Assemble Antenna Mount
- Connect the two EMT conduit sections using the EMT coupling.
- Install the EMT connector on one end of the assembly.
- Attach the box over to the EMT connector.
- Attach the assembly to a nonremovable panel of the unit using the two conduit hangers and sheet metal screws.
Install the antenna on top of the electrical box cover. Route wire down
through the EMT conduit. Enter the enclosure through the weather-tight
connector. 
Remove the existing WiFi antenna from the modem. Connect the supplied external
antenna.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The RMK antenna connector differs from the antenna used
with the motor controller. The antennas are not interchangeable. 
System Startup

Turn the power on to the unit.
| Verify the Turntide Supervisor has power and is running by checking the green RUN LED.|
Verify the LED on the modem are green for power/wifi/connection to cell and blue for cell strength.

Make sure the internet cable is completely plugged into the modem and the Turntide Supervisor a that there is a green LED on both devices.
| Contact Turntide (877-776-8470) to confirm the RMK is operating and posting data to the cloud.|
After installation is finished, complete the RMK Install workflow on the XOi mobile app.
