Special Safety Information for this Appliance

WARNING:

  • Never add water to the oil.
  • Oils and fats can burn if overheated. Take care. Do not forget to turn off the appliance after use! To do this, first set the thermostat to the lowest position and then pull out the plug.

ATTENTION: OVERHEATING OF THE HEATING ElEMENT

Please observe this important note, if you want to use fat in the fryer.
Fat must be melted slowly so that it can enclose the heating element.
If fat is inserted for the first time or re-melted, there is a risk of overheating, if the selected temperature is too high!
Inserting Fat for the First Time.

  • Liquefy the fat in advance in a separate vessel.
    WARNING:
Never heat the fat above 50°C, to avoid injury when transferring.

  • Fill the liquefied fat into the frying fat container.

  • When the required oil level is reached, you can set the desired temperature on the thermostat.
Reheating Hardened Fat in the Fryer
If the fat in the fryer has become hard, it is difficult to see how much of it has already melted at the bottom near the heating element.

Correct Use of the Appliance

This appliance is used for deep frying food.
It is intended solely for this purpose and should only be used for this. It should only be used as per the descriptions provided in these operating instructions. This appliance should not be used for commercial purposes.
Any other use of the appliance shall be deemed to be contrary to the intended purpose and can lead to damage to property or even to personal injury.
Clatronic International GmbH cannot be held liable for damages, which arise as a result of the use of the appliance contrary to its intended purpose.

Before Initial Use

Before you first use the appliance

  1. Remove the packaging. Take off the fryer lid. The fryer basket is inside the fryer. Remove all items from the fryer.
  2. We recommend that you clean the lid, housing, container, and fryer basket, as described in the Cleaning section.
  3. Please remove the connector cable from the cable compartment.

Notes on Using the Fryer

  1. Regularly remove fried food, e.g. pieces of French fries, that have been left behind in the oil. After repeated use, you should change the oil.
Use high-quality frying oil or frying fat for frying.

  2. Fats and oils must be suitable for being heated to high temperatures. Please do not use margarine, olive oil, or butter. These types of fat are not suitable for deep frying, as they may start smoking at low temperatures.
We recommend the use of liquid frying oil.
    WARNING DANGER!
    • Be sure to replace the fat/oil regularly.
    • Never use food covered in ice!
    • If foods are too moist, e.g. French fries covered in ice, etc., a strong foam formation results, which in a worst-case scenario could cause the hot fat/oil to overflow and result in personal injury.

  3. To reduce the acrylamide content in starchy foods (potatoes, cereals) we recommended that you do not exceed a temperature of 170°C (possibly 175°C) when deep frying.
Furthermore, it is important to keep the cooking time as short as possible and not to fry the food in the fryer to more than a golden color.

  4. Please ensure that the safety switch is operated, when the control element has been pushed into the guide.

  5. Select the appropriate cooking temperature, taking note of the nature of the food to be fried. As a guideline: pre-fried foods require a higher temperature than raw ones.

  6. Never carry the fryer, while the oil or fat is still hot.

  7. When frying dough-like food removes any excess dough and carefully place the pieces into the oil.

  8. Please make sure that the handle has been properly attached to the fryer basket.
    • Press together the wire ends at the free end of the handle.
    • Slide the angled ends into the wire loops on the inside of the basket.
    • Do not fill the fryer more than 2/3 full. Do not overfill the fryer basket.

  9. Dry moist food with a cloth.

ATTENTION:
If foods are too moist, e.g. French fries covered in ice, etc., a strong foam formation results, which in a worst-case scenario could cause the hot fat/oil to overflow.

Use:

  1. Ensure that the device is disconnected from the mains and turned off.

  2. Take off the fryer lid.

  3. Remove the fryer basket and add oil or fat to the container (no more than 3 l).
The fill level should lie between the MIN and MAX markings.

  4. Insert the plug into an earthed socket 230 V, 50 Hz. Set the temperature dial to the desired temperature by turning it.

  5. The warning light comes on during heating and goes off when the desired temperature is reached. Gently place the fryer basket containing the food to be fried into the hot fat.

  6. The control light will turn on and off several times during frying. This is normal and indicates that the temperature is controlled and maintained by the thermostat. At the end of the cooking time (cooking times can be found on the packaging of food or in the recipe) remove the fryer basket.

  7. Allow some of the oil to drain off the fried food.

  8. To turn the appliance off, please set the temperature control to mIN and pull the plug out of the plug socket.
Wrap the power cable into a spiral shape and store it in the cable compartment.
