MORRIS MSI-6542 Steam Iron
Safety Instructions:
When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed:
- Make sure the power used corresponds with the one indicated on the rating label and the socked has effective earth connection.
- Use the iron only for needed use as described in the instruction manual.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Do not leave the iron unattended while connected to the mains supply, or on an ironing board. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam.
- Keep the iron out of reach of children.
- Unplug the iron from the mains electrical supply before:
- Cleaning
- Filling with water or emptying the water tank
- Immediately after use
- Never operate the iron with damaged power cord or plug, or after it has fallen or been damaged in any way. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron, take it to a qualified serviceman for examination and repair.
- Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.
- To protect against a risk of electric hazards, do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains supply.
- The plug must be removed from the sock-outlet before the water reservoir is filled with water.
- The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
- When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
- The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
Cautions for the first use :
- The iron has been greased, and as a result, the iron may slightly smoke when switched on for the first time. After a short while, this will cease.
- Before using for the first time, remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate. Clean the soleplate with a soft cloth.
- Keep the soleplate smooth, avoid contact with metal objects (such as clothes rack, button and slide fastener)
- Pure woolen fabrics (100% wool) may be pressed with the iron set to a steam position. Preferably set the steam regulator to strong position, and use a dry pressing cloth.

Filling With Water:
- Before filling water, please pull out the plug first.
- Set the steam control to the minimum position.
- Pull down the cover of water filling mouth, then fill water.
Spraying:
- Fill the water in the iron as per water-filling methods.
- Press water spray button.
Steam Ironing:
- To use steam ironing, turn the steam control to minimum position and set the temperature control at the “…” or MAX position.
- After the indicator goes out, turn the steam control to the suitable position, steam will be sprayed, ironing can start.
Burst of Steam:
This function will be able to provide more steam to remove stubborn creases.
Set the temperature control at the “…” or MAX position, then press down the
bursting steam button, the base plate will spray out bursting steam.
Dry Ironing:
Turn the steam control to minimum position ,set the temperature control to the
suitable position, you can dry ironing.
Self- cleaning:
To remove dirt and dust, the iron should be cleaned at least once a month.
First fill water, then plug the iron into the mains. Set the temperature
control to the maximum position. About 3 minutes later, press the self clean
button for about 1 minute. Strong steam and hot water will be sprayed to clean
the steam chamber. Use this function once every two weeks.
Anti-drip:
This iron is equipped with a drip stop function: the iron automatically stops
steaming when the temperature is too low to prevent water from dripping out of
the soleplate.
Anti-calc:
The Anti-calc function filtrate the minerals from the water to prevent mineral
residue build up at the steam chamber.
Automatic shut off:
If the iron is switched on and not moved for a period of 8 minutes while
standing on its heel or 30 seconds while standing on the soleplate, an
internal safety feature will switch the iron off and the auto-shutoff
indicator will blink. Move the appliance sharply to switch it on again.
Caution: Synthetic Fabric, Nylon, Synthetic Silk and Silk cannot use the steam iron, otherwise the finish of the surface will be damaged.
Storage:
After using, pull out the plug, pour out the remaining water, turn the steam control to minimum, turn the temperature control to “min”, let the iron cool down, put the iron on the safe and dry place vertically.

After Ironing:
To extend the working life of the iron, whenever you finish ironing, it is
recommended to empty the reservoir as follows:
Unplug from the mains socket. Empty the iron by opening Water Filling Cover
and shaking it lightly above a sink. Then close the cover. To dry the
remaining moisture, turn the iron on again with the thermostat dial in the MAX
position with steam regulator in MAX position until Power Indicator Light goes
off. Unplug from the mains socket and allow to cool. Clean the plate with a
dry cloth as traces of moisture could mark it.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Before cleaning, remove the plug from the socket and allow the iron to cool down sufficiently.
- Wipe off the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.
- If the fiber is adhered to the soleplate, use a damp cloth with vinegar to wipe off the soleplate.
- Never use strong acid or alkali in order to avoid damaging the soleplate.
- If the scale blocks the steam hole, please remove the scale with toothpick; do not damage the surface of soleplate.
- Stand the iron on is end and let it cool down sufficiently, and meantime pour any remaining water out of the box, set the steam regulator to positon”0″.

After the above-mentioned methods to repair iron, if it still cannot come to work normally, please send it to the repair agent for checking and repair.
