The Cello Android TV allows you to enjoy your favorite shows and apps with the convenience of Android integration. With the ability to set up your TV using your Android phone, you can easily sync all your settings and preferences. The TV also supports recording and playback of your favorite channels, as well as the ability to play USB videos on repeat.
Product Usage Instructions
To set up your Cello Android TV using your Android phone
- Select “Continue” if you have an Android phone.
- Open the preinstalled Google app on your phone.
- Type or say “OK Google, set up my device”.
- Select your Android TV from the list and follow the steps.
- Verify the code displayed on both the TV and the phone.
- Once complete, enjoy your Android TV with all the settings and preferences from your Android phone.
To sign in to your Google Account and download apps
- Select “Sign in” or “Skip” on the Google account page.
- If signing in, have your Google email and password ready and follow the on-screen steps.
- A Google account is required to download and enjoy apps on the TV.
To enable Chromecast and tune in channels
- Proceed to the TV set up menu after signing in to Google or skipping the step.
- During the tuning process, enable Chromecast to make the TV always available for casting.
- Enabling Chromecast at this stage is recommended as it cannot be done later without resetting the TV.
To record the current channel
- Insert a memory device (at least 8GB, formatted FAT32) into the USB socket of the TV.
- Press the record button on the remote control (red dot above the TEXT button) to start recording.
- Press the stop button (square above the audio button) to stop recording.
To set a timed record
- In TV mode, press MENU and navigate to the recording menu using the down arrow on the remote.
- Select “Schedule List” and press the record button on the remote control to enter a new item to record.
- Use the remote control to enter the details, including channel selection, date, start time, stop time, and repeat type.
To play back recorded programs
- In TV mode, press MENU and navigate to the recording menu.
- Select “Record List” to view a list of recorded programs.
- Use the arrows to select a program and press OK to start playback.
To play USB videos on repeat
- Go to the Google Play Store and download the app “VLC for Android”.
- Insert your USB into the USB socket on the TV.

Setting up your TV –
- Before you begin please ensure you have a working internet connection. Once the TV is plugged into the mains, take the remote control and press the power button to activate it. The start up screen will appear, followed by the initial set up page. Once you select your language, the TV will begin a search for your remote control in order for it to be paired via Bluetooth. At this stage press the left arrow and the home key simultaneously to activate you remote for pairing. When the green light flashes on the remote you’ll know it’s ready to be paired. The TV will recognise the remote and begin pairing. Once complete the TV will automatically proceed to the next screen.
- Now you can choose whether to quickly set up your TV with your Android phone or if you don’t have an Android phone you can skip to the next step.
- If you do have an Android phone; select continue. On your phone open the preinstalled Google app, now type or say ‘OK Google, set up my device’. When your Android TV appears on the list, select and follow the steps. You’ll see a verification code that appears on both the TV and the phone, these should both match. Once complete you can enjoy your Android TV in sync with all the settings and preferences from your Android phone.
- If you don’t have an Android phone you can set up the TV with the remote control. When asked if you want to set up your TV with your Android phone, simply select skip to move on to the Wi-Fi network connection menu. Here you will choose between your home Wi-Fi hub, another network, Ethernet cable or skipping the process altogether. If you choose to skip then you will not be able to connect to the internet. Assuming you have a Wi-Fi hub, the
- TV will recognise it, simply select your device from the menu. After which you will be prompted to enter your password.
- Next you will see the Google account page where you can select sign in or skip. To sign in to your Google Account make sure you have your Google email and password ready, follow the on screen steps to get logged in and sync your Google account preferences with the TV. In order to download and enjoy apps you’ll need a Google account. So to enjoy the best features of the TV this is advisable.
- Once signed into Google or if you have skipped this step you’ll then proceed to the TV set up menu where you will tune in your channels, during this process you will be asked whether or not you wish to make the TV always available for Chromecast, we strongly recommend that you enable Chromecast at this stage as it cannot be done later unless you reset the TV.
How do I record the channel I am on?
- To record you need to insert a memory device into the USB socket of the TV. This needs to be at least 8GB but no more than 2TB. It can be a USB memory stick or a HDD and must be formatted FAT32.
- To record the current channel, press the record button on the remote control (record button is the one with the red dot above the TEXT button). To stop recording press the stop button (the button with a square above the audio button).
How do I set a timed record?
- In TV mode press MENU. Press down arrow on remote to access recording menu. Select schedule list. To enter new item to record press the record button on the remote control.
- Enter the details using your remote control, you can change the channel to the one you want to record using the arrow or number keys on the remote. Select the date, select the start time, select the stop time and then select repeat type whether you want once, daily or weekly.
- If the TV is on at the start time of the scheduled recording it will switch to the channel to enable the recording to take place regardless of whether you are watching TV on another channel or something on an app, the TV cannot record one thing whilst doing something else. The TV is still able to record something whilst in standby.
How do I play back my recording?
In TV mode press menu and down to access the recording menu. Then select
Record List, this shows a list of recorded programs, use the arrows to select
one and press OK the playback will start.
How do I play USB videos on repeat?
- Go to Google Play Store
- Download the app ‘VLC for Android’
- Insert your USB into the USB socket on the TV
- Press VLC app, select the video and click OK to play the video then press pause and select 3 dots at the bottom of the right of the screen and select repeat mode from the list.
