What is the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
The bearer Velvet Skin Pro is a light-based device for lasting hair removal for private use. The hair removal process based on laser and light is a well known and proven method. In 15 years of clinical applications around the world, it has proven to be a safe and effective method for achieving lasting hair reduction.
How does the light remove the hair?
Light-based hair removal is founded on the principle of selective
photothermolysis, which uses optical energy to deactivate hair growth. To
achieve such a thermal effect, the hair shaft must selectively absorb the
light energy and convert it into heat.
This selectivity is achieved when the optical energy that is released into the
tissue is mainly absorbed by the pigment of the hair shaft, while the skin and
the surrounding tissue
remain cool. Melanin is the pigment in the hair shaft that is responsible for
absorbing the light and generating the heat that ultimately deactivates hair
growth. Therefore, the more melanin present in the hair (i.e. the darker the
hair), the lighter can be absorbed and the more effectively the light can work
for the hair removal.
What effect does the hair growth cycle have on light-based hair removal?
Every hair on our body goes through the three phases of the hair growth cycle:
anagen, catagen and telogen. These phases have a significant influence on how
effective light-based hair removal is. Anagen is the hair growth phase,
catagen is the transitional phase and telogen is the resting phase.
Although the duration of a complete hair growth cycle differs from person to
person and depends on the area of the body the hair is growing on, the cycle
generally lasts 18 – 24 months. At any given time, the majority of the hair
follicles on an area of skin care in the resting phase. The bearer Velvet Skin
Pro can have no effect on these resting hairs.
18 – 24 months
However, the hairs in the anagen growth phase respond to the buyer Velvet Skin Pro. Please note that at least one complete hair growth cycle is required in order to achieve long-lasting hair removal using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro.
With the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, safety is the top priority
-
IPL technology with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro – the highest level of safety with a lower level of energy
Thanks to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, lasting hair removal results can be achieved with a mere fraction of the energy used by other light-based hair removal devices. The low level of energy used in the beurer Velvet Skin Pro reduces the potential risk of damage or complications and contributes to your general safety. -
bearer Velvet Skin Pro protects your skin
Light-based hair removal is not suitable for naturally dark skin tones or tanned skin. The bearer Velvet Skin Pro features an integrated skin color sensor that measures the color of the area of skin to be treated, meaning that it is only possible to use the device on suitable skin colors. This safety feature prevents you from treating your skin if it is too dark or too tanned. The light opening of the device features built-in UV protection, blocking dangerous UV radiation. -
beurer Velvet Skin Pro protects your eyes
To protect the eyes, the beurer Velvet Skin Pro features a built-in skin contact sensor. The sensor was developed so that no light pulses can be emitted when the device is held in the air. A flash is only triggered when the skin contact sensor is resting on your skin.

device.
Initial use
STEP 1: Check whether the bearer Velvet Skin Pro is suitable for you
WARNING
Before using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro for the first time, check whether the
device is suitable for you. To check whether the bearer Velvet Skin Pro is
suitable for you, read Chapter “4. Warnings and safety notes” and determine
which light intensities are best suited to your skin and your body hair and
whether this method is suitable for you to use at all (if not, this is marked
by an ‘x’ in the chart) on the basis of the “Hair and skin color chart” on the
back page of these instructions for use.
STEP 2: Skin sensitivity test
WARNING
Perform a skin sensitivity test before using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. The
aim of the skin sensitivity test is to determine how your skin reacts to
treatment using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro. Furthermore, it helps you to set
the optimum energy level for each treatment zone. Perform a skin sensitivity
test on every area of skin that you would like to treat 48 hours prior to the
complete treatment.
Note
In the case of facial treatment, the skin sensitivity test should be performed
on an area without hair, such as below the ear or on the side of the neck.
-
Before the treatment, ensure that the skin is shaved, clean, and dry (free from any residue such as powder, cream, make-up, antiperspirant or deodorant).
**WARNING**
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you clean the skin with flammable liquids such as alcohol or acetone shortly before using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. -
Set up the device as described in Chapter 8.1 “Starting treatment” under points 2 to 5.
-
Place the light area of the device on the desired test area and make sure it is in full contact with the skin.
-
The device is automatically set to the lowest energy level. Trigger the first pulse with energy level 1 by pressing the trigger button. You will see a bright flash, hear a cracking noise, and may feel a slight burning sensation and/or warmth. Within max. 3 seconds, the device is ready for the next pulse and the indicator lamp on the beurer Velvet Skin Pro is continuously illuminated green.
-
Remove the light opening from the skin and place it on the next part of the test area.
**Note
Only increase the energy level if the previous level is not uncomfortable for you. If energy level 1 is uncomfortable for you, do not increase the energy level.
****Note
Note:** You can use the button for automatic skin tone detection to automatically determine the recommended energy level for the respective treatment area. Make sure that the recommendation is made based on your skin tone. You can adjust the energy level at any time. -
The energy level can be increased by an increment of 1 by pressing the “+” energy level button. The energy level indicator illuminates in accordance with the selected energy level. Trigger the second pulse with energy level 2 by pressing the trigger button.
-
Only repeat steps 5 and 6 if you feel in good health until you have reached the top energy level 6. Stop the test if it feels uncomfortable, as there is a risk of adverse consequences if the energy level is increased. Stop the test immediately if you notice adverse effects such as extreme reddening or blistering.
-
Wait 48 hours and examine the treated area. If the skin on the treated area appears normal (no reaction or slight reddening), you can continue with the full treatment using the highest energy level that you found comfortable during the test. If you notice extreme reddening, swelling, or blistering even at a low energy level, do not perform a full treatment on this area.
**Note**
Do not perform a full treatment with an energy level that you have not tested beforehand!
Do not treat the tested area until at least one week after performing the test.
STEP 3: Plan hair removal using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro for the best
results
A typical hair growth cycle can last 18 – 24 months. During this time, several
sessions using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro may be necessary to achieve lasting
hair removal. The effectiveness of the hair removal differs from person to
person and varies depending on the area of the body and hair color, as well as
on how the bearer Velvet Skin Pro is used.
Typical hair removal plan using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro over a complete hair growth cycle:
- The first three to four hair removal sessions using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro should be performed around two weeks apart.
- The fifth to seventh hair removal sessions using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro should be performed around four weeks apart. Afterward, you may use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro from time to time as necessary, until lasting results are achieved.
This corresponds to the recommended treatment plan that has proven to achieve the best results. You can, however, create a different personal treatment plan and still achieve satisfactory results.
**Note**
The hair removal results cannot be improved by treating the same part of the
body more than once within two weeks.
Typical aftercare with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro after achieving lasting
hair removal:
Due to hormonal or other physiological changes, resting hair follicles can
become active. For this reason, hair removal sessions after treatment using
the bearer Velvet Skin
Pro may be necessary from time to time.
STEP 4: Prepare the treatment area
Before the treatment, ensure that the skin is shaved, clean, and dry (free
from any residue such as powder, cream, make-up, antiperspirant, or
deodorant).
**WARNING**
Do not clean the skin with flammable liquids such as alcohol or acetone
shortly before using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro.
STEP 5: Adjust the energy intensity/automatic skin tone detection
Energy level
The energy level determines the intensity of the light pulse emitted by the
beurer Velvet Skin Pro onto your skin (from the lowest level (-) to the
highest level (+)). The energy level display on the device displays the energy
level increases. As the energy level increases, so do the hair removal results
and the risk of possible side effects and complications.
Always begin the first hair removal treatment at the energy level that has
been determined in the auto- matic skin tone recognition test and confirmed in
the skin sensitivity test.
Automatic skin tone detection/skin tone measurement
The automatic skin tone detection allows you to see the suitable energy level
for your skin tone displayed on the device.
**Note**
-
For your safety, always select the darkest area of skin (e.g. the outer side of the lower leg, back of the hand)
Important: Before using on another part of the body, you must take another measurement. -
The device does not trigger any light pulses in skin tone detection mode.
-
If you want to cancel skin tone detection early, press one of the energy level selection buttons (+ or -) again to return to normal mode.
If you notice slight or no irritation during and after the first hair removal treatment while using the recommended energy level, you may increase the energy level by 1 in subsequent sessions.
WARNING Do not increase the energy level if you experience an abnormal amount of pain during or after the treatment using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro! (See “Step 6 Familiarise yourself with the possible side effects”) Do not increase the energy level during the hair removal session, even if you do not notice any discomfort. Irritation can occur some time after the treatment itself.
STEP 6: Familiarise yourself with the possible side-effects of using the
beurer Velvet Skin Pro
If the bearer Velvet Skin Pro is used in accordance with the instructions in
these instructions for use, side effects and complications seldom occur in
relation to the use of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. However, every cosmetic
treatment method – including methods such as those designed for use at home –
is associated with a certain degree of risk. That is why it is important that
you understand and accept the risks and complications that can occur with hair
removal systems for use at home that uses pulsed light.
Complication| Probability of the complication| Side effect| Probability of the
side effect
---|---|---|---
Impact of several pulses on the same area of skin| Low| Slight skin
irritation| Low
Reddening of the skin| Low
Increased sensitivity of the skin| Low
Skin lesions and burns| Seldom
Scarring| Seldom
Changes to pigmentation| Seldom
Excessive reddening and swelling| Seldom
Infection| Negligible
Hematoma| Negligible
Slight soreness to the skin
Although hair removal at home using pulsed light is generally tolerated very
well, the majority of users experience slight discomfort during the treatment,
which is usually described as a slight stinging on the treated skin area. The
stinging usually lasts for the duration of the treatment or up to a few
minutes afterward. Anything beyond this slight discomfort is not normal and
means that you should either discontinue using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro
because the hair removal treatment is not suitable for you or the energy level
setting is too high.
Reddening of the skin
Your skin may become red directly after treatment using the bearer Velvet Skin
Pro or within 24 hours after the treatment. Any reddening generally fades
within 24 hours. Consult your doctor if the reddening does not disappear
within two or three days.
Increased sensitivity of the skin
The skin on the treated area is more sensitive, which can lead to dryness or
skin peeling.
Skin lesions and burns
In very rare cases, burns or lesions to the skin can occur after the
treatment. The burn or lesion may take a few weeks to heal and, in extremely
rare cases, you may be left with a visible scar.
Scarring
Although it only occurs very rarely, permanent scarring may occur. Scarring
usually occurs in the form of a flat, white lesion on the skin (hypotrophy).
However, it may also be wide and red (hypertrophy) or wide and extend further
than the injury itself (keloid). Subsequent aesthetic treatment may be
required to improve the appearance of the scar.
Changes to pigmentation
The bearer Velvet Skin Pro targets the hair shaft and, in particular, the
pigmented cells in the hair follicle and the hair follicle itself. Despite
this, there is a risk of hyperpigmentation (increased pigment or brown
discoloration) or hypopigmentation (fading) of the surrounding skin. The risk
of changes to the skin, and pigmentation is higher for people with darker
skin. Discoloration or changes to skin pigmentation are usually temporary and
permanent hyper or hypopigmentation only occurs rarely.
Excessive reddening and swelling
In rare cases, the treated skin can become very red and swollen. This is more
likely to occur in sensitive parts of the body. Reddening and swelling should
subside within two to seven days and be treated by frequent application of
ice. Gentle cleaning is OK, but you should avoid exposure to the sun.
Infection
An infection of the skin is extremely rare, yet still a possible risk after a
burn or lesion to the skin caused by the beurer Velvet Skin Pro.
Hematoma
In very rare cases, using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro can result in blue/violet
hematoma that may last five to ten days. Once the hematoma fades, rusty brown
discoloration of the skin (hyperpigmentation) can occur, which may be
permanent.
STEP 7: What can be expected from treatment using the bearer Velvet Skin
Pro?
For many users, the beurer Velvet Skin Pro may be the first experience they
have with a light-based device developed for use at home. The beurer Velvet
Skin Pro is simple to use and hair removal sessions do not take long. During a
session with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, it is normal to experience and
notices the following:
- Whirring of the fan – The cooling fan in the beurer Velvet Skin Pro makes a noise similar to a hair dryer. This is normal.
- Cracking noise with every pulse – When a pulse is triggered from the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, it is normal to hear a kind of cracking noise at the same time as the flash of light.
- Slight impression of the light opening – This is necessary and helpful for the placement of adjacent light pulses and is part of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro‘s safety function.
- Feeling of warmth and prickling sensation – During each light pulse, it is normal to feel slight warmth and prickling sensation from the light energy. Remember that it is important to always use low energy levels for the first hair removal sessions. You may feel a certain warmth up to an hour after using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro.
- A slight reddening of the skin – During or directly after your session with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, it is not unusual to experience a slight reddening of the skin. This is usually most visible around the hairs themselves. However, if you notice complete reddening of the skin, blistering or burns, stop using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro immediately.
Usage
**WARNING**
If you would like to use the device on your face, first read the instructions
in Chapters 8.2 to 8.3, before looking at Chapter 8.3 “Starting treatment”.

**Note
Before the treatment, ensure that the skin is shaved, clean, and dry (free from any residue such as powder, cream, make-up, antiperspirant or deodorant).
Allow the device to cool for a few minutes if it seems too hot for you. You can continue your treatment as normal after a short cooling period. ****WARNING**
Do not clean the skin with flammable liquids such as alcohol or acetone shortly before using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro. -
Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the device.
-
Select the correct energy level for your skin color using the +/- buttons or use the automatic skin tone detection ( ).
-
Place the device on the skin at a 90-degree angle so that the attachment is in complete contact. The integrated skin contact sensor prevents light pulses from being accidentally emitted without skin contact.
-
The indicator lamp on the rear of the device illuminates green in order to indicate that you can continue with the treatment.
-
Press the trigger button to emit a light pulse.
-
The device is equipped with an “Auto Flash” mode. This mode is activated if you hold the trigger button down for 3 consecutive light pulses. The device now automatically emits light pulses without having to press the trigger button again, as long as there is sufficient skin contact.
Note
If you press the trigger button and your skin is too dark or too tanned, the indicator lamp on the device illuminates red. In this case, the device does not trigger a pulse on this area of the skin. If the device does not have sufficient contact with the skin and you press the trigger button, the indicator lamp on the device illuminates orange. In this case, the device does not trigger a pulse on this area of skin either.
WARNING
Do not treat the same area of skin more than once per hair removal session! Treating an area of skin more than once during a single hair removal session can increase the
probability of side effects. Try to avoid overlapping pulses.
Note
The pulses from the beurer Velvet Skin Pro should be applied in rows – beginning at one end of each row, and continuing to the other end. This technique allows better monitoring of the areas of skin that have already been treated and helps you to avoid treating the same area more than once or treating overlapping areas of skin. The light area of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro is designed in such a way that it leaves a temporary impression on the treated area of the skin. These visible impressions can be used for the precise placement of the next pulse. -
Lift the device of the skin and place it on the next part of the treatment area. When repositioning, make sure not to leave any gaps or overlap the treated skin. The device recharges itself immediately and is ready for the next pulse within max. 3 seconds (at the highest intensity level) (the indicator lamp on the device continuously illuminates green once again). Repeat the process until the entire area of skin has been treated.
After treatment with beurer Velvet Skin Pro
- Once the hair removal session using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro is finished, switch off the device by pressing the ON/OFF button.
- After each hair removal session, it is recommended that you clean your beer Velvet Skin Pro device, paying particular attention to the light area.
- After cleaning, it is recommended that you store your beer Velvet Skin Pro device in its original box and keep it away from water.
8.2 Facial treatment
WARNING
Do not use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on your face at an energy level higher
than 3. Women should not use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on their face above
the cheekbones or on the eyes, eyebrows, or eyelashes, as this could result in
severe damage to the eyes. Men should not use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on
the face, neck or chin. Do not use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on mucous
membranes in the nose or throat area.
The skin on your face is very sensitive and requires special care. Observe all warning and safety notes in these instructions for use to prevent adverse consequences. We recommend that you first perform a treatment on your body and get to know the device before performing the facial treatment. All areas of the face below the cheekbones, such as the upper lip, cheeks, jaw, chin, and neck can be treated using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro.
Note
The precision attachment, which is included in delivery, can be used to make
an application on the face easier. This makes the light area smaller and
allows for a more precise application. The precision attachment can be easily
attached to the head of the device by positioning it and pushing it onto the
light area. Please position the precision attachment so that the corresponding
cut-out area in the attachment lines up over the skin contact/skin color
sensor. If the skin contact/skin color sensor is covered, it is not possible
to trigger a light pulse. Use the precision attachment with max. energy level
3 and only use if your skin tone is lighter than skin type 5. Do not use the
precision attachment for longer than 80 pulses in a row. There is the risk of
the red filter becoming too hot, which could result in burns.
- You must carry out a selective skin sensitivity test 48 hours before treatment (see Chapter 7, step 2).
The skin sensitivity test should be performed on an area without hair, such as below the ear or on the side of the neck, to determine the suitable energy level.
WARNING
Do not treat the tested area until at least one week after performing the
skin sensitivity test.
**Note**
Facial hair can be a result of hormones, which means that several sessions may
be required to achieve long-lasting hair reduction.
8.3 Care after facial treatment
- Apply a soothing lotion such as aloe vera.
- Do not use exfoliators, whitening lotions, or similar products for at least 24 hours, as this could irritate the treated skin.
- For at least 48 hours after the treatment, avoid more than 15 minutes of direct exposure to the sun. If recently treated skin is exposed to sunlight during this period, sun protection with SPF 30 or higher must be applied.
- Do not remove hair on the treated areas using wax or tweezers.
Remember that it may take a complete hair growth cycle for hair removal to be complete.
Cleaning and maintenance
After each hair removal session, it is recommended that you clean your beer
Velvet Skin Pro device, paying particular attention to the light area.
IMPORTANT
Never immerse the bearer Velvet Skin Pro or any of its parts in the water!
- Use a clean, dry cloth and cleaning agent specially developed for electronic devices to gently wipe the surface of the beer Velvet Skin Pro, paying particular attention to the light surface.
What if there are problems?
“My beurer Velvet Skin Pro cannot be switched on”
-
Ensure that the device’s battery is charged (using the green light on the battery status display).
-
If the IPL device does not emit a light pulse, check whether
a. The treatment attachment is properly secured to your device (the device does not work if it is not placed on the device or is not placed on it correctly).
b. The device is still in the automatically activated safety mode if no skin contact or no permissible skin tone has been detected.
c. There is full skin contact.
d. The treatment area is too small, curved, or bony. The treatment window must be placed completely on the treatment area (try to pull the skin straight).
e. Emission of the light pulse is blocked if the IPL device detects a skin tone that is too dark. In this case, the indicator lamp briefly illuminates red.
f. In the case of safety problems and when the operating life is reached, the indicator lamp illuminates red. In this case, the device switches off automatically. -
General fault:
A a. The treatment window must be cleaned in accordance with the instructions in the relevant section if it is dirty or dusty. Contact Customer Services if you cannot clean the dirt yourself.
b. If the light pulses are emitted in a delayed manner after changing the treatment area, use the device in a cooler environment, if necessary. The light pulses may be emitted more slowly in warmer ambient temperatures.
c. If a general fault occurs, switch off the device, wait ten seconds and then reconnect it. -
Should you still have problems with your device, please contact Customer Services.
Frequently asked questions
-
Does Velvet Skin Pro really work?
Yes. In clinical tests performed by doctors, it was proven that the technology in the beurer Velvet Skin Pro can be used to achieve lasting hair removal results. However, the results may vary depending on the hair growth cycle, the energy level used, and the hair thickness and color. -
On which parts of my body can I use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
The bearer Velvet Skin Pro was designed for hair removal all over the body. The most common areas that are treated with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro are the legs, armpits, arms, bikini zone, and the face below the cheekbones. -
How long does a treatment session using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro last?
The time can vary depending on the area of the body being treated. A full body treatment (legs, arms, armpits, bikini zone and face below the cheekbones) takes approximately 21 minutes at the lowest intensity level and uses a large attachment. -
Is the beurer Velvet Skin Pro safe?
The bearer Velvet Skin Pro was developed with a strong focus on your safety and employs clinically tested technology. However, this device – like any other product or electronic device intended for application on the skin – must be used in accordance with the instructions for use and the safety notes for users. -
Does the beurer Velvet Skin Pro cause pain?
When used correctly, most users of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro report a slight warm feeling when the light pulse is issued. Users with thicker and darker hair could feel slightly more discomfort, but this should subside once the hair removal session is finished. The bearer Velvet Skin Pro features six energy level settings that you can select according to your sensitivity. -
How often should I use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
In the case of body hair treatment with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, the first four sessions should be performed two weeks apart. The fifth to seventh sessions should be performed four weeks apart. Any further sessions should be performed if the hair has grown back until the desired results have been achieved.
In the case of treatment of hair on the face below the cheekbones, the first six sessions should be performed two weeks apart. The seventh to twelfth sessions should be performed four weeks apart. Any further sessions should be performed if the hair has grown back until the desired results have been achieved. -
Is the beurer Velvet Skin Pro effective on white, grey or blond hair?
The beurer Velvet Skin Pro works best on darker hair types or on hair with a higher melanin content. Melanin is the pigment that gives hair and skin its color and absorbs light energy. Black and dark brown hair shows the best response. Brown and light brown hair also respond to treatment, but it usually requires more hair removal sessions. A limited effect can be seen on red hair. White, grey or blond hair does not usually respond to the buyer Velvet Skin Pro, although several users have noticed results after multiple hair removal sessions. -
Can I use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on brown or black skin? Do not use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on naturally dark skin! It does not work! The bearer Velvet Skin Pro is a light-based device that removes undesired hair by means of the selective treatment of the hair pigment. A different amount of pigment is present in the surrounding skin tissue. The amount of pigment in the skin of any given person – which can be seen by the color of the skin – determines the degree of risk that the person is exposed to when using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. Treating dark skin with a light-based hair removal procedure can have adverse consequences, such as burns, blisters, or discoloration of the skin (hyper or hypopigmentation). The bearer Velvet Skin Pro features an integrated skin color sensor, which measures the color of the treated skin at the beginning of every treatment session and occasionally during the session itself. The skin color sensor prevents the bearer Velvet Skin Pro from emitting further pulses if it detects that the device is being used on darker skin tones.
-
When will I see the results of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
As with all other hair removal devices that are based on light or lasers, the results cannot be seen immediately and you could even think that nothing has happened at all. After a hair removal session, the hair sometimes appears to grow back, but normally, many of these hairs will simply fall out after two weeks. Additionally, hair grows in three different stages and the beurer Velvet Skin Pro only has an effect on the hairs in the active growth phase. This is one of the main reasons why multiple sessions are necessary to achieve the desired result. -
Can men use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
Although the beurer Velvet Skin Pro was developed for women, the device is also suitable for use by men. However, men‘s hair – typically on the chest – will require more hair removal sessions than women’s do to achieve the desired results. -
Why is my hair still growing although I treated it a week ago?
It may seem as though the hair is still growing up to two weeks after a hair removal session using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. This is known as the “ejection” process and, after around two weeks, you will find that the hairs simply fall out or can be pulled out with a slight tug. (However, we do not recommend that you pull on the hairs – simply let them fall out naturally). It is also possible that some hairs are not affected by the beurer Velvet Skin Pro due to a missed application or different growth phases. These hairs are treated in subsequent sessions and this is why several hair removal sessions are required to achieve the best results with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. -
Is it true that some hairs grow back thinner and finer after a light-based hair removal treatment?
This phenomenon has been extensively documented by beauticians and doctors who use light and laser-based hair removal devices. It is possible that some hairs grow back thinner and finer after hair removal using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro. Normally, these hairs are a mere fraction of those that were originally there and further treatment can have the desired effect on them. -
Why can‘t I perform treatment when I have an “active” tan?
Do not use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro on tanned skin or after exposure to the sun. Tanned skin, especially after exposure to the sun, contains a large amount of pigment melanin. This applies to all skin types and colors, including those that do not seem to tan quickly. The presence of a large amount of melanin exposes the skin to an increased risk of negative consequences in relation to the use of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, including burns, blistering and discoloration of the skin (hyper or hypopigmentation). -
Is long-term use of the beurer Velvet Skin Pro dangerous for my skin?
The use of light and laser energy in aesthetic medicine has been extensively documented for over 15 years in professional journals that are checked by experts and by reputable institutions such as the Mayo Clinic. These journals and institutions have not reported any side effects or damage as a result of long-term use of light and laser-based devices. -
Can I use the beurer Velvet Skin Pro to remove the hair on my chin or other facial hair?
The bearer Velvet Skin Pro can be used to treat hair on the face below the cheekbones. When using on the face, it is important to avoid the area around the eyes. The eurer Elvet Skin Pro must not be used around or on the eyes under any circumstances. As with other parts of the body, exposure to the sun before and after treatments using the bearer Velvet Skin Pro should be avoided. Acceptable sun protection includes clothing that covers the area or sun cream (at least SPF 30+) that must be worn or applied before and after the treatments. -
After unprotected exposure to the sun, how long should I wait before performing a treatment with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
You should wait two weeks after unprotected exposure to the sun before using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro. If you are still unsure about exposure to the sun, you should consult your doctor. -
Are there any particular steps I need to take before using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
Before each session using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro, it is important that exposure of the treated surface to the sun is avoided for at least two weeks. This can be aided by UV sun cream (SPF 30+) and clothing that covers the treated area. Furthermore, the area to be treated should be cleaned with mild soap and water and the hair should be shaved down to the surface of the skin. -
How should I care for the treatment area after using the beurer Velvet Skin Pro?
The area treated with the beurer Velvet Skin Pro can be cleaned and cared for using conventional skin care products. Do not expose the area to the sun without adequate protection. Sun cream with a high sun protection factor (30+) and clothing that covers the area provide sufficient protection from the sun.
