First use
Before the balance is used, it should acclimatise for one hour. Failure to do so may result in incorrect readings. To switch on the balance, insert four AA 1.5 V batteries on the back of thedisplay and/or use the 6 V plug-in mains adaptor included in the delivery scope. If the supply voltage is too low, the display will show “LO”. Further use is not possible. Therefore, check the batteries and/or the mains adaptor.
On / off
To switch on the balance, press and release the key once. The display shows the following in sequence:
- All icons
- Version number
- Maximum measurement range
- Measurement mode
Once the balance is in measurement mode, you can use it.
To turn off the balance, press the key again.
Automatic power off
To save battery power, the instrument has an auto power off feature. To set
this function, press and hold the key until the display shows “5” for a
shutdown after five minutes of inactivity or “-” to disable the auto power off
function. You can now use the key to select one of these two options. Press
the key to confirm your selection. You will return to measurement mode.
IMPORTANT: This function is always deactivated during mains operation.
Change unit
To change the unit, press and release the key once. You can choose either kg, lb or oz/lb.
Set zero point
There are several ways to set the zero point. These are described in the
following chapters.
Important: Always note that the maximum measurement range must not be
exceeded.
Automatic zeroing
After turning on the scales, the displayed reading is automatically zeroed. To disable this function, press and hold the key until “AUtO Zo” appears on the display when the balance is switched on. You can now use the key to select “ON” or “OFF” to enable or disable this function. Press the key button to confirm the selection. You will return to measurement mode.
Internal zero point
With the platform scales, for example, a zero point can be set for a container
weighing without having to carry out an adjustment. This has the advantage
that the container is subtracted during the measurement. To do this, first
place the container on the weighing surface. Then press and hold the key while
the balance is switched on until you reach the menu for automatic zeroing.
First switch off this function. Now press the key. “SET Zo” appears on the
display. Now change this function from “OFF” to “ON” by pressing the key.
Confirm the entry with the key. You will return to measurement mode.
Important: Each time this function is activated again, permanent zeroing
is performed. Resetting to “OFF” will not remove the new zero.
Tare
To tare the displayed weight, press and release the key once in measurement mode.
Piece counting
To perform a piece count of the weight, first place the following number of
test pieces on the weighing platform. You can choose between 25, 50, 75 and
100 pieces. Then press and hold the key until “PCS” flashes on the display.
You can now use the key to select between the numbers of test pieces on the
weighing platform. Now press the key to accept the selection.
If “Pass” appears on the display, the execution was correct and the balance
starts with the piece counting directly. If “Err” appears on the display, the
operation was not correct. Repeat the procedure.
To exit the piece counting mode, press the key. Press and release the key to
return to piece counting.
Important: No individual number is possible.
Calibration
To perform a calibration, press and hold the key until the display shows the maximum measurement range of the balance. A selection of calibration weights is then displayed. You can choose between 10, 20 and 50 kg. To do this, press the key. Then press the key. The calibration is now performed. Only now place the reference weight on the scales. If the calibration was successful, the display will show “PASS”. If the measured value is not stable or if you cancel the calibration prematurely, “ERR” is shown on the display. To cancel the calibration prematurely, press and hold the key
