Parts and Serial Number
Genuine ECHO parts and assemblies for your ECHO products are available only from an Authorized ECHO Dealer. When you do need to buy parts alway shave the model number and serial number of the unit with you. For future reference write them in the space provided below.

Service of this product during the warranty period must be performed by an Authorized ECHO Service Dealer. When presenting your unit for Warranty service/ repairs, proof of purchase is required.

ASSEMBLY

Install Wheels and Handle

  1. Install left wheel and secure with washer (A) and cotter pin (B).
  2. Install the right wheel and secure it with 6 x 50 mm bolt (C) and 6 mm flange nut (D).
  3. Install upper handle assembly (E) into lower handle bracket (F), and secure with two 6 x 60 mm bolts (G) and two 6 mm flange nuts (H).

Install Gate Control Rod

  1. Insert tab end of gate control rod (C) into the slotted hole in gate control lever (B). Turn rod clockwise until it is parallel with handle assembly.

  2. Thread 6mm nut (C) onto end of gate control rod to a distance of 25.4 mm (1 in) from the bottom of rod.
    Insert threaded end of rod into hole in control rod adapter (D). Then thread 6 mm flange nut (E) onto gate control rod. Assure nuts remain spaced as shown.

  3. Attach control rod adapter to gate linkage (F). Secure with 6 mm flange nut (G) and nylon washer (H).
    Tighten nut until snug, then loosen nut 1/4 turn to allow hinge movement.

  4. Push control rod adapter (D) downward until gate is fully closed.

  5. Position gate control lever fully forward, and tighten control rod nut and flange nut as shown.

Install Grate

  1. Align notches in the grate (A) with tabs (B) in the hopper.
    Install grate into a hopper. Turn grate clockwise to lock into place.

Rear Deflector

  1. Install rear deflector (A) as shown.

  2. Adjust deflectors (C) to the desired angle for spreading range.
    Note: With deflectors closed, the product will spread 1. 07 m (3.5 ft). With deflectors fully open, the product will spread 1.88 – 2.44 m (6-8 ft), depending on rate of travel.

  3. Pull the gate control lever backward to set the gate to desired opening size. Use gate adjustment limiter (B) to restrict gate opening size.

  4. Push gate control lever (A) fully forward to close gate. Fill the hopper with the product. Fill the hopper in an area that won’t be damaged by spilled product.

  5. Start the spreader in motion, and pull gate control lever back to begin the flow of the product.

  6. Move the gate control lever forward to close gate before turning or stopping.

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning Spreader

Avoid spraying the gear case directly, and do not use a pressure washer on the spreader.

  1. Wash spreader with a garden hose after each use.

Lubrication

  1. Gear case and Axle: Clear debris from grease fittings (A). Apply 1-2 pumps of lithium-based grease with an appropriate grease gun. Clean excess grease from grease fittings.
