Do not use this apparatus near water
Do not use the product near water and moisture, for example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool. -
Clean only with a dry cloth
Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a dry cloth for cleaning. -
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Slots and openings in the cabinet and in the back or bottom are provided for ventilation, to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or another similar surface. this product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat source. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to. -

Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades one wider than the other. a grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. the wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. if the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

Power Source
The product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your appliance dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions. -
Power lines
An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal. -
Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. -
Object and liquid entry
Never push objects of any kind into the product through as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Never spill or spray any type of liquid on the product. -
Outdoor antenna grounding
If an outside antenna is connected to the product, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built- up static charges. Section 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge product, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna discharge product, connection to grounding electrodes and requirements for the grounding electrodes. -
Service
Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. -
Replacement parts
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or those that have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire or electric shock or other hazards. -
Safety check
Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition -
Wall or ceiling mounting
The product should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer. -
Damage requiring service
Unplug the product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b. If liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the product.
c If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
d. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions, as an adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation.
e. If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance — this indicates a need for service. -
Note to the CAN system installer
This reminder is provided to call the CAN system installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.
Note:
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when
the unit has been damaged in any way such as the following: the power-supply
cord or plug has been damaged, liquid has been spilled into the unit, the unit
has been exposed to rain or moisture, the unit has been dropped or the unit
does not operate normally.
POWER SOURCE
Main Unit:
- Insert the small plug from the supplied AC/DC Adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Connect the AC/DC Adapter to the wall outlet having AC 100-240V~; 50/60Hz. The Red Standby Indicator on the front of the unit will illuminate.
NOTES:
- To save energy, unplug the AC/DC Adaptor from the wall outlet if you may not use the unit for an extended period of time.
- This AC/DC Adaptor is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
Remote Control:
First Time use:
Remove and discard the insulation film as illustrated on the right. If the
button cell is drained, replace it with a new one as below:
- Push and slide out the battery tray as Fig.1 below.
- Replace the button cell with a new CR2025 button cell as the polarity markings on the rear of the Remote Control as Fig.2 below.
- Close the battery tray as Fig.3 below.
BATTERY PRECAUTIONS:
Follow this Battery Precaution when using a battery in this device:
- Use only the size and type of battery specified.
- Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the battery as indicated in the battery compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.
- Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
- If the batteries in the device are consumed or the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
- Do not try to recharge the battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s instructions.)
- Do not dispose of battery in fire. The battery may explode or leak.
- Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
- ****This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burn in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
INSTALLATION

Placing on the table
When placing the Sound Bar on an entertainment center, bookshelf, or any type of enclosed space, be sure to allow at least 2-3 inches of space around the Sound Bar for ventilation. If the Sound Bar is enclosed in a tight space, without ventilation, heat generated from the Sound Bar could produce a potential heat hazard. -
Mounting the Speaker Bar onto a wall
We recommend having this unit professionally mounted. By using wall mounting accessories, the unit can be mounted onto a wall.
Distance Between Two Brackets
2.1 Mounting to a wooden wall A. Mark the position of the mounting screws on the wall using a pencil (not included).
B. Drill the supplied mounting screws directly into the marks that you have made on the wall and leave approx. 0.3 inches in length to hook the sound bar.
C. Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.
2.2 Mounting to a brick wall
A. Mark the position of the supplied mounting screws on the wall using a pencil (not included).
B. Drill 2 holes in the wall with a powerful electric drill (not included).
C. Insert the supplied plastic inserts into the holes by hammer (not included).
D. Secure the supplied mounting screws into the plastic insert and leave approx. 0.3-inch length to hook the soundbar.
E. Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.

EFFECTIVE DISTANCE OF REMOTE TRANSMITTER
NOTES:
- When there is an obstacle between the unit and the transmitter, the unit may not operate.
- When direct sunlight, an incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp, or any other strong light shines on the REMOTE SENSOR of the unit, the operation of the remote may be unstable.
OPERATIONS
GENERAL OPERATION:
-
Connected the unit to AC power as previously instructed. The Red Standby Indicator on the front of the unit will illuminate.
-
Press the STANDBY/SOURCE Button on the top of the unit or press the **** Button on the Remote Control to power on the unit from standby mode.
-
Press the STANDBY/SOURCE Button on the top of the unit or press the SOURCE Button on the Remote Control repeatedly to switch to desired playback mode. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will change as your selection (see list below):

During playback:
A. Press and release the + or − buttons on the unit or press the VOL + or VOL- buttons on the Remote Control repeatedly to adjust the volume level as desired.
B. Press the **** (Mute) Button on the Remote Control to mute the sound temporarily, and press again to turn it back.
C. Press the EQ button on the remote control repeatedly to select and play in desired EQ (POP, ROCK, JAZZ, CLASSIC, COUNTRY) mode. -
When finished listening, press and hold the STANDBY/SOURCE Button on the top of the unit for approximately 2 seconds or press **** the Button on the Remote Control to turn the unit to Standby mode. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will turn red.

To save energy, unplug the AC/DC Adaptor from the wall outlet if you may not use the unit for an extended period of time.
BT MODE:
BT (Bluetooth) pairing:
First-time use or re-pairing the unit to a new BT Device, pair as follows:

Power on the unit and enter to BT mode as previously instructed. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will turn blue and blink.

Power on the external BT Device and enter to BT searching mode. Start pairing following the on-screen instructions from the external BT Device. After pairing, the blue indicator will stop blinking.

If pairing is complete you may now play music with your external BT Device.

During playback:
• Press the ** button on the unit or Remote Control to pause, and press again to resume normal playback.
• Press and hold the − or + buttons on the unit or press the **or ****buttons on Remote Control repeatedly to skip tracks. -
Press and hold the **** button on the remote control or on the unit to disconnect the Bluetooth, press the button again to reconnect the previous BT device.
Notes:
- When the external BT Device searched the unit, the model number “CHT988” will appear on the display of the external BT Device.
- If while pairing you are asked for a code please try “0000” or “1234”.
Normal operation after pairing:
- Power on the external BT Device and enter into BT mode.
- Power on the unit and enter to BT mode as previously instructed. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will turn blue and blink.
- Wait a few seconds until the unit is automatically paired to the external BT Device. The blue indicator will stop blinking.
- After pairing is complete, you may now play music with your external BT Device.
LINE IN:
Listen to music from RCA output jacks from an external Video/Audio Player such
as a Television; DVD Player, VCR … etc.
- Connect one end of the RCA Connection Cable (included) to the Line Out Jacks on the external Video/Audio Player.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the LINE IN Jacks on the rear of the unit as illustrated below:
- Power on the unit and enter to LINE IN mode as previously instructed. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will turn Green.
- Play the video/music on the connected Video/Audio Player as usual. (Make sure the volume level of the connected Video/Audio Player is turned to a high level.)
AUX IN :
Listen to music from an external Audio Player such as an MP3 Player, Discman …
etc.
- Connect one end of the Supplied Audio Connection Cable to the Line Out/AUX Out Jack on the external Audio Player.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the AUX IN jack on the rear of the unit as illustrated below:
- Power on the unit and enter to AUX IN mode as previously instructed. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will turn to Purple (Red + Blue Mixed).
- Play the music on the connected Audio Player as usual. (Make sure the volume level of the connected Audio Player is turned to a high level.)
OPTICAL IN:
Listen to music from the Optical Out Jack on an external Video Player or
Television:
- Connect one end of the Optical Connection Cable (not included) to the Optical Out Jack on the external Video Player or Television.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the OPTICAL IN jack on the rear of the unit as illustrated below:
- Power on the unit and enter to Optical IN mode as previously instructed. The color of the indicator on the front of the unit will turn to Indigo (Blue + Green Mixed).
- Plays the video on the connected Video Player or watches the TV program on the connected TV as usual.
CLEANING
- To prevent fire or shock hazards, disconnect your unit from the AC wall outlet when cleaning.
- The finish on your unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for like other furniture. Use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts.
- Mild soap and a damp cloth may be used.

a Cashier’s check or Money Order for $10.00 (to cover shipping and handling
costs) payable to Craig Electronics Inc. For consumers in Canada, please make
sure that the cashier’s check or money order is redeemable through a U.S.
bank. Ship your product freight pre-paid. Your unit will be repaired, or
replaced, or if the unit can not be repaired or replaced, a refund will be
forwarded to you within four weeks of receipt of your unit. Please ship your

This warranty is void if the product has been:
a) Used in a commercial application or rental.
b) Damaged through misuse, negligence, or abuse.

Note: This warranty does not cover:
a) Ordinary adjustments as outlined in the Owner’s Manual which can be
performed by the customer.
b) Damage to equipment not properly connected to the product.
c) Any cost incurred in shipping the product for repair.

Any implied warranties, including the warranty of merchantability, are limited
