GAS SAFETY RECALL
Updated on 20 October to include information about inspecting and
repairing affected units
502BHSP 4 Burner Cooktop
PRA 2022/19498 – Swift Appliance Group 500 Series Cooker/Grill and
Cooktops
Model Numbers 502BHSP, 502BHFW, 502DHSP, 502RHSP, 502SHFW, 502SHW,
502WBHSP, 503BHSPM, 503BHSP, 503BHSPMLG, 503BHSW, 503DHSP, 503RHSP,
503SHSPM, 503SHSW and 503BHSPN. Approval Number AGA 6488G Identification: To identify affected
appliances, check the model number on the data plate. Open the glass lid and
look for the data plate on the inside front left side of the lid.
Products were supplied to the caravan, camper, and motorhome manufacturers and
directly to consumers.
Cookers manufactured:
- between 1 January 2019 and 31 May 2020 (inclusive) have been recalled – Follow the instructions under the action required below.
- before 1 January 2019 are currently under investigation by the supplier – this notice will be updated when more information is available. Follow the instructions under the action required below to remove the front left burner knob.
- on or after 1 June 2020 are not affected by this recall – consumers can continue to use these gas cookers as per the instructions for use provided with the appliance.
Defect: A part of the gas supply pipe in the front left burner may break or develop a hole. This can cause the gas to leak.
Hazard: If the gas leaks in the presence of an ignition source this can lead to an explosion and/or fire, which may result in serious illness, injury, or death. The defect has caused incidents that have caused serious injuries and burns.
Action required: For cookers manufactured between 1 January 2019 and 31 May 2020 (inclusive), and before 1 January 2019:
- Turn the front left burner control knob to the off position, remove the knob and store it out of reach of other users.
- DO NOT USE the front hotplate left burner. The other burners and the electric hotplate can be used.
- For cookers manufactured between 1 January 2019 and 31 May 2020, contact Swift Appliance Group to have your appliance inspected and repaired if required.
- If the appliance was manufactured before 1 January 2019 – wait for further information from Swift Appliance Group

It is recommended that consumers install a gas leak detector inside the cupboard underneath the gas cooker unit if the caravan or motorhome is intended to travel off-road.
