Charging

To charge, connect this product to a USB AC adapter using a commercial USB cable as shown in the image.
The LED light turns off when charging is complete.

Switching On

Pairing

Follow the steps below to connect your smartphone.

  1. Switch the power switch to ‘On’ to enter pairing mode.

  2. Search for this product (TETRAPOD) using your smartphone or other connected device and register it.

  3. When the LED light fl ashes twice within 7 seconds and a ‘wave sound’ is heard, pairing is complete.
    • If connected with a device unintentionally, turn off the device and try again.
    • If a previously paired device is nearby, the speaker automatically reconnects to the device.

Setting

Depending on your preference, use the included stand for better sound quality.

When connection fails
When the reason for the connection failure is unknown, reset this product and try again. To reset, remove the rubber foot on the underside of the power switch and push the reset button with a thin object such as a pin.

Be sure to observe the following precautions in order to ensure safe and correct use.

WARNING

  • In the case of an abnormality.
    If odor or smoke is emitting from this product, cease usage immediately and switch it off. If charging, unplug the cable from the power supply such as the AC adapter.  Cease usage after that and contact your retailer.

  • Do not leave the product exposed to high temperatures.
    This product is a precise electronic device. Avoid using or storing in places with high temperature, high humidity, or long-term direct sunlight.
    Never leave this product in a car. Leaving this product in cars with high internal temperature for a long time is highly dangerous as it will lead to rupturing, burning, and/or malfunctioning of the internal batteries. In addition, rapid changes in the surrounding temperature may lead to malfunction caused by internal condensation.

  • Disconnect the charging cable when charging is complete.
    Also, after the necessary charging period is over and the charging has not been completed, disconnect the cable anyway. If the given charging time has been exceeded, there is a possibility of an explosion, fire, or damage to the battery inside. Also, this may have an impact on the battery life.

  • Do not use the product in a hospital or an aircraft.
    Do not use in places that require a high level of safety. Doing so may cause malfunctions in special medical equipment or the meters of an aircraft.

  • Do not disassemble the product.
    Do not repair, modify, or disassemble the product unless instructed by this document.
    Doing so may cause electric shock, fire, or burns.

  • Do not damage the cable that is being used for a connection.
    Doing so may cause a fire or damage to the cable.

CAUTION
Ignoring the following items may lead to injury and/or damage to property.

  • Do not use or store the product near water.
    This product is not waterproof. When the inside of the product becomes wet, it may cause damage, fire, or electric shock.

  • Do not store the product within reach of small children.
    Doing so may lead to accidents, such as accidental ingestion.

  • Avoid using or storing the product where vibrations, external impacts, strong magnetic forces, or static electricity may occur as the product is a sensitive electronic device.

  • Follow the instructions in the user’s manual for each of the connected devices.
    This product is capable of wireless communication with PCs and mobile phones.
    Setting procedures and precautions may differ depending on the device. Read the user’s manual of each device carefully and follow the instructions.

Additional matters to pay attention to.

  • Do not place the product where static electricity may occur easily or in very dusty places.
  • If this product becomes dirty, wipe clean with a soft cloth containing a small amount of water or diluted neutral detergent. Do use benzene or thinners as this may result in deformation or discoloration.

Precautions regarding radio waves
The band of frequencies used by this device is used to operate local wireless base stations (wireless stations that require a license) and designated low- power wireless stations  (wireless stations that do not require a license) for the detection of moving objects on factory production lines in addition to microwave ovens and other industrial/scientific c/medical devices.

  • Before using this device, make sure that local wireless base stations and designated low-power wireless stations for the detection of moving objects are not being operated.
  • If this device has created radio wave interference for a local wireless base station for moving object detection, quickly change the frequency that is used or stop radio wave emission and then contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product for information on how to avoid interference (such as installing a partition).
  • If this device interferes with the radio waves of a specified low-power radio station for detecting mobile objects, or if there are any other problems, contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product.

Regarding the built-in battery
A battery is a consumable part that will become exhausted even when it is used properly. Battery degeneration is normal.
It is not a malfunction. The batteries can not be replaced.

  • When the product is stored for a long time without being used, the built-in battery loses its capacity. A repeat charging and discharging should restore it.
  • When the temperature is low, the number of ‘continuous using hours’ will be shortened.

Regarding disposal
Follow the guidance of the local municipal government where you live when disposing of the product.
Enquire with your local government about the regulations.

Regarding user support

Contact for inquiry on the product
A customer who purchases outside Japan should contact the local retailer in the country of purchase for inquiries. In “ELECOM CO., LTD. (Japan)”, no customer support is available for inquiries about purchases or usage in/from any countries other than Japan. Also, no foreign language other than Japanese is available. Replacements will be made under the stipulation of the Elecom warranty, but are not available from outside of Japan.

  • In no event will ELECOM Co., Ltd be liable for any lost profits or special, consequential, indirect, punitive damages arising out of the use of this product.
  • ELECOM Co., Ltd will have no liability for any loss of data, damages, or any other problems that may occur to any devices connected to this product.

Except for where the request for release of customers’ information obtained via user registration, repair requests, product inquiries, and other services to the related companies or providers dealing with inquiries regarding the repaired product or after-sales support, quality improvement of the product or service, market survey, and other such services is legally approved as a legal duty defined by the judicial and administrative organizations, personal data will not be disclosed to any third party without the consent of the customer. All customers’ personal data is managed and stored with the utmost care.
