Introduction

The ACC-7735 4-Position Charging Cradle charges all Scepter, Solo, and Striker models.

About This Guide

This guide provides instructions on setting up and using the ACC-7735 4-Position Charging Cradle. For instructions on battery charging, see the Battery Information guide that can be found at www.amltd.com/Product- Documentation.

Set-Up

Setting up the charging cradle includes unpacking, connecting the power supply, and positioning the charger on a tabletop. Unpacking the Charger The shipping box includes the following:

  • One ACC-7735 4-Position Charging Cradle
  • One PWR-7835 Power Supply (24 VDC, 2.5 A)
  • This User’s Guide.

If any parts are missing or damaged, contact your authorized Customer Support Representative immediately. Save the shipping box for storing or shipping.

Connecting the Power

The PWR-7835 power supply is included with the ACC-7735 4-Position Charging Cradle. If a country-specific AC power supply is required, please contact your authorized customer Support Representative.
Use only an AML-approved power supply. The PWR-7835 power supply, included with the charger, is intended for 120VAC operation.

To connect power to the charger:

  1. Plug in the PWR-7835 power supply to a standard 120VAC electrical outlet.
  2. Connect the plug on the end of the power supply into the round, barrel-jack connector, marked “12-36VDC” on the back of the charger.
  3. After 2 seconds the charger’s power LED, on the front panel, will illuminate red to indicate power is connected.

Charging

Set the Scepter or Striker into a cradle slot. It begins to charge as soon as it is inserted.

Indicator Lights

Cradle Power
Indicator| | RED = The cradle has power from the power supply.
OFF = The power supply is disconnected or not plugged into the electrical outlet.
---|---|---
Mobile Computer
Indicator| | RED = The mobile computer is charging.
GREEN = The mobile computer is fully charged.
OFF = The mobile computer is not in the cradle.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause Correction
The Cradle power indicator does not light. Cradle is not receiving power.

Make sure the PWR-7835 power supply is securely plugged into the electrical outlet and its power cord is securely connected to the cradle.
Mobile Computer Indicator does not illuminate| The mobile computer is not firmly seated in the cradle or there is no battery in the device. Misalignment occurs when cradling contacts are bent or damaged.| Make certain there is a battery in the device, and that the device is firmly seated in the cradle. return cradle to an AML repair center for corrective action.

The ACC-7735 Cradle’s Communication Ports

The ACC-7735 Charging Cradle has two communication ports and one power jack located on the rear of the cradle. The cradle itself has no internal or external settings that can e changed. If a PC connection is required while charging, place the mobile computer in the cradle with the communication ports on the back.

USB Type-A
Connect to a device (mouse, keyboard, USB drive)
USB Type B
Connect to a PC (transfer files, software development)

Regulatory Information

All AML devices are designed to be compliant with rules and regulations in the locations they are sold and will be labeled as required. Any changes or modifications to AML equipment, not expressly approved by AML, could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

Power Supply

Use only an AML-approved Power Supply, output rated 24 VDC and a minimum of 2.5A. The PWR Power Supply is certified to EN60950.
