Product Overview
Installation
Mount and wire the alarm according to the installation instructions. The maximum distance between modules should be 200ft.
Signal Strength Check
Press the pairing button for 1 second on the panel module to enter setup mode
for fast signal strength updates.
Reposition the indoor module until 1 or more signal LEDs are illuminated
green.
Test Alarm
Verify the alarm is functioning by triggering an alarm condition on the outdoor panel and verify the indoor CSION® alarm is alarming. Alarm LED on CSION® RF and CSION® alarms will illuminate amber in color when alarming and the audible alarm will sound. For CSION® WiFi alarm units, verify a text or email notification of the alarm was received.
Monthly Testing
Verify at least 1 or more signal LEDs are illuminated green monthly and repeat step 3 as you are able.
Troubleshooting Guide
1 red blinking LED
- Communication between modules has marginal signal strength.
- Moving modules are recommended, typically the indoor alarm module.
- Move alarms closer to each other or put them in a different location.
- The maximum distance between modules should be 200ft.
- Steel buildings and other structures can interfere with signal strength.
3 red blinking LEDs and CSION®/WiFi Alarming
Alarm modules are not communicating with each other, the modules have not communicated in the last 15 minutes.
- Repeat step 3: Test alarm and verify power on both modules.
- If both units fail step 3 and have power, move to the next bullet.
- Moving modules is required, typically the indoor alarm module.
- Move alarm modules closer to each other or put in a different location.
- The maximum distance between modules should be 200ft.
- Steel buildings and other structures can interfere with signal strength.
- If you still have 3 red blinking LEDs, move to the next bullet.
- The modules may need to be paired.
- Press and hold the pairing button on the panel module for 10 seconds. Within 10 minutes press and hold the pairing button on the alarm module for 10 seconds (signal LEDs will flash when in pairing mode) .
- Upon being paired (typically less than 30 seconds) they will automatically go into setup mode.
- If pairing is unsuccessful, modules are out of range from one another, and move units closer to one another.
- Repeat step 3: Test alarm, after pairing units.
The alarm does not power up with CSION® alarm battery backup:
- CSION® RF alarm does not function on the CSION® alarm battery backup power
