  • Mid-level spreader (on models MVTTWINMA and MVTTWINMC)
  • 100mm aluminum casting bowl
  • Twin spiked feet
  • Ground spreader (on models MVTTWINGA and MVTTWINGC)

MODELS MVTTWINMA & MVTTWINMC

SET UP 1
Unlock each of the clips “B”. Spread the 3 legs “A” until the mid-level spreader “C” is parallel to the floor. Release the extensions of each leg by opening the lever “D” on the clamps “E” and the levers “M” on the clamps “N”. When the desired height is achieved lock each leg by locking levers “D” and “M”.
ADJUSTING THE SPREAD 2
The mid-level spreader “C” is provided with telescopic arms “F”: to adjust the amount of spread, loosen the knobs “G”, adjust, and re-tighten. Note: As an alternative, it is possible to use the ground spreader, Manfrotto Art. 165MV (not included) by first removing the three feet “L” and fixing the ground spreader to the spikes “K” (fig. 1).
FEET 1
The tripod is supplied with twin metal spikes “K” for external use, e.g. grass. To use the metal spike, remove the foot “L” by pulling down the rubber retainer “T”.
MODELS MVTTWINGA & MVTTWINGC
SET UP 1
Unlock each of the clips “B”. Spread the 3 legs “A” until the spreader “J” is flat on the floor. Release the extensions on each leg by opening the levers “D” on the clamps “E” and the levers “M” on the clamps “N”. Once the desired height is reached, lock each leg by locking levers “D” and “M”. ADJUSTING THE LEG SPREAD 0 The spreader “J” is provided with telescopic arms “V”: to adjust the amount of spread, loosen the knobs “W”, adjust and re tighten.
FEET 1
The tripod has feet “Z” with twin metal spike for external use, such as grass. To use the metal spike, remove the spreader “J” by pulling down on the leg retainer “Y”. MOUNTING AND REMOVING A CAMERA HEAD 1 , 4
The tripod is designed for 100mm or 75mm ball heads. To mount 75mm ball heads, attach the 100mm to 75mm bowl adapter “AK provided to the tripod using the three screws “AB” (fig. 4). It is also possible to mount non-ball heads (flat base with 3/8″ female fitting) on the tripod by using a half ball 500BALU500BALLSH or 520BALU520BALLSH (not supplied with the product) in combination with the 100mm to 75mm bowl adapter.
MAINTENANCE 5,6 & 7
CHECK LEG LOAD CAPACITY 5
Periodically check the effectiveness of the leg brake force in order to verify that is operating correctly and adjust if necessary.

  1. Remove the mid-level or ground spreader from the tripod in order to facilitate the following steps

  2. Extend the middle and lower sections to 23 cm (9in) each (approximately half their maximum length).

  3. Place a rubber mat or similar “AC” on a set of scales to prevent damage and skidding. Stand one leg on the scales and apply a vertical downward force.
WARNING! Use a non-slip mat to ensure the tripod foot does not slip from the scales when applying downward pressure WARNING! Finger entrapment hazard. Make sure you keep your fingers clear, so they do not become trapped in the legs.

  4. The leg should remain extended while applying an average downward force of 25-35 kg (55 – 77 Ib).

  5. If the leg starts to collapse before a 25 kg (55 Ib) force is reached, then the corresponding leg section requires adjustment. Check to see which section and which locking collar has collapsed and refer to “Adjusting brake force section”.
    ADJUSTING BRAKE FORCE 6 &7
**** Brake force must be adjusted with the locking collar levers closed, as shown in this image. The supplied Allen key must be used to carry out the adjustment. Small rotations of the Allen key result in large load increases (1/8 of a tum= +5kg (11Ib) fig.7). Do not adjust more than necessary as this will lead to increased stress on the locking mechanisms.
    1. Place the supplied Allen key on the collar-screw corresponding to the first section that collapsed during the LOAD CAPACITY TEST
    2. Turn the screw clockwise in MAX 1/8 of a turn step: after each adjustment step, check the Load Capacity again (referring to the CHECK LEG LOAD CAPACITY section above). Repeat the procedure on the remaining 2 legs.
