DROP IT MODERN 8.5×11 Wallpaper Hanging
WALLPAPER HANGING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT:
Inspect your order within 10 days of receiving it. Start by verifying the
pattern and quantity before opening the first roll. Then, check the wallpaper
for any issues. Find something thatʼs not right? Stop immediately (donʼt ever
install defective material) and contact us so we can correct your order. If
drop it MODERN is not made aware of any issues within this 10 day window, any
potential replacement order would have to be paid by you. Please note, we will
require the defective material to be sent back to us for inspection.
ABOUT OUR WALLPAPERS
- We carry five different paper types. Please confirm which type you are using before starting.
- All wallpapers are untrimmed with a 1” protective border on top, bottom and both sides of each panel (30″W untrimmed papers provide 28″ nominal use / 54″W untrimmed papers provide 52″ nominal use).
- Straight match in the pattern orientation.
- Our standard panel length is 10ʼ but if you customized your order, please confirm length. If you order more than one panel, they will be bundled and shipped together.z
PREPARATION
- Hire a professional installer who is experienced with double cutting or knows how to work with untrimmed paper. Drop It MODERN is not responsible for errors in paper due to incorrect trimming practices.
- Apply a primer to wall before installing wallpaper.
TRIM INSTRUCTIONS
- All of our wallpapers arrive with a 1” overlap on top, bottom and both sides of each panel.
- Remove 0.5” white edge protection border.
- Apply to wall with design overlap intact.
- Double cut excess trim on wall for perfect butt seam.
HANGING INSTRUCTIONS
- Apply wallpaper to clean dry surface that has been primmed.
- Use a clear premixed adhesive. Do not thin adhesive.
Each paper type requires a different hanging method:

MATTE:
paste wall, hang dry -
PEARL:
paste wall, hang dry -
PREMIUM MATTE:
wet back, paste wall, hang dry -
VINYL TYPE II:
paste wallpaper, hang -
GLITTER:
paste wall, hang dry -
Match paper on wall at eye level taking into consideration the 1” overlap on top, bottom and sides when orienting pattern placement on wall.

Wash adhesive completely off the printed surface of each panel after it is hung. Leftover adhesive can cause flaking and damage to wallpaper.

To further preserve wallpaper apply a waterproof latex topcoat.
NOTE WELL
- Use a soft plastic smoothing tool. Do not use any tools, like metal or abrasive brushes, that will cause permanent damage such as scratching or blushing.
- Do not soak the printed wallpaper face in glue, it will cause permanent damage to design area.
CARE
Clean with warm water and non-abrasive cloth with light pressure as needed. Do
not use forceful rubbing, it will damage the surface of the wallpaper. Rinse
thoroughly a second time with clean warm water if needed.
