RECYCLING

Do not dispose of this product with unsorted waste. Take to an authorized waste collection point. Together with producers and importers, you play an important role in sorting, recycling and reusing waste electrical and electronic equipment. To finance the collection and treatment of waste, the government sometimes levies a recycling fee (included in the purchase price of this product).

WARNINGS RELATING TO THE INSTALLATION

  • The installation must be carried out in accordance with the statutory regulations.
  • This manual must be presented to the user. It must be included in the file for electrical installation and must be passed on to new owners. Additional copies are available on the Robin website or via the Robin support service. The latest manual for this product is available at any time on the Robin website.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

The warranty period is four years from the date of delivery. The delivery date is the invoice date for the product purchased by the consumer. If no invoice is available, the production date applies. The consumer is obliged to inform Robin Telecom Development B.V. in writing of any non-conformity within two months from reporting a defect.
In case of non-conformity, the consumer is only entitled to a free product repair or replacement, which will be decided by Robin Telecom Development B.V. Robin Telecom Development B.V. cannot be held liable for any defect or damage resulting from it.

Mounting

Keep the surface-mounting box in the right place on the wall and make sure it is level. Mark the four mounting holes on the wall with a pencil. Also mark the point where to make the hole for the doorbell cables. Drill the holes. Feed the ethernet cable and optionally the bell cables through the drilled hole (1). Place the interference filter behind the wall (2) around the ethernet cable (if present). Screw the surface-mounting box to the wall (3). Connect the unit (see step 3 in the manual).

ProLine connection

Connect the cable. The colours for the individual cores must match the colour coding on the PCB. An additional cable (two-wire) is required for the chime connection (2). Attach the cable(s) to the housing as a tension relief using the supplied ‘tie wrap’ (3).

Place the unit at an angle in the mounting box (1). Secure the doorbell with the safety screw and Allen key supplied (2).

PoE connection

The doorbell must be connected to the supplied Power over ethernet (PoE) injector. Connect the doorbell cable to the ‘To Robin’ connector (1). Connect the router’s ethernet cable to the ‘ethernet IN’ jack (2). Finally connect the power supply to the ‘Power’ port (3).
The doorbell will now start. This takes ± 30 seconds. After this you will hear a two-tone signal and the doorbell label light will turn on (4).

Label engraving

Engraving can be done via robin.nl or via your own engraving service. Engrave on the back of the label. This will ensure that the light can shine through the engraving.
Engrave in mirror image and deep enough (minimum 0.3 mm)

Placing the label


Place the label (1 to 4). Note: once a label has been placed it is diff icult to remove it. For questions and new labels see www.robin.nl/en/support.

HomeKit connection

N Make sure that the iPhone or iPad is connected via Wi-Fi to the same network as the doorbell and that the doorbell is booted up according to step 4. Open the Apple Home app on the iPhone or iPad and click on the ‘+’ symbol in the upper right corner to add the doorbell. The product sticker with the QR code is included in the packaging and is unique to each unit. Follow the on-screen instructions.

With the Robin app you can change the settings for your doorbell and update the firmware. Scan the QR code to download the app from the App Store.

To change the settings or firmware of a doorbell click on the icon next to the doorbell. To view the snapshot history, press the icon.

N In the Robin app, tap on the video image icon to display live video. When live video is being displayed, you can tap the (1) icon to activate a two-way audio channel to the person at the door. Tap the (2) icon to save a snapshot of the video image.

Daily use

To ring the bell, press the bell symbol (1). This will display a message on the paired iOS device and your doorbell will ring (if an external bell is connected). Tap the notification to open the Home app and watch the live video. When the live video is shown, you can tab the icon (2) to activate the two-way audio with the person at the door. The light in the top right above the doorbell symbol indicates whether the doorbell camera is in use. If the light is blue, the camera is not in use. If the light is red, the camera is in use.

Reset factory settings

To reset the Robin to factory settings, the following steps must be followed:
Remove the power plug from the PoE adapter (1), wait five seconds and plug it back in. Wait until the doorbell starts up. You will then hear a two-tone signal and the label light will light up (2). Press the call button five times (3). The doorbell will now reboot (±30 sec.) and you will hear a two-tone signal (4). The doorbell has now been reset to factory settings and can be added to the Apple Home app again (step 7).
