z-wave Qubino Shades Remote Controller

Shades Remote Controller

  • Qubino Shades Remote Controller is 9 Channel Z-Wave standard handheld product.
  • This product acts as a Z-Wave primary controller with a possibility to support up to 9 Z-Wave shutter modules. The remote enables basic shutter operations: up / down / stop.

POWER UP

The power supply for this product are 2pcs AAA batteries. The batteries are inserted in the back of the product.
NOTE: The batteries must be installed in the compartment correctly (with attention to the positive and negative end of the battery), otherwise the product will be damaged.

Z-WAVE INCLUSION

Include to another primary controller (Gateway)

  1. Trigger the primary gateway to enter the inclusion state (for details, refer to the operating instructions of the gateway).
  2. Press and hold reset button on the back of the remote (above the battery case) for 3 seconds, once sign L appears on led display, release the button. During the inclusion process, sign L on display flashes slowly for timeout of 60 seconds. While inclusion is still in process press and hold on + or – button to prevent remote going to sleep mode. Pressing STOP button during 60 second timeout can stop the inclusion process.
  3. After successful inclusion, sign d will appear on the display.
  4. If inclusion process fails, sign F is displayed and the remote exits inclusion state.
    If the remote acts as a secondary controller, user should associate  the device to be controlled. Remote will send out corresponding
    command while including or associating device.

Include/Associate device to remote

  1. Press and hold the + and – buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until sign A appears on led display, after that release the buttons.
  2. Pressing UP button triggers inclusion device process, during which sign A flashes slowly for 60 second timeout. Pressing STOP button during 60 second timeout can stop the inclusion process.  If included device excess remote’s capability, this means all channels are full. Led displays F and exits inclusion device process.
  3. Trigger the device (i.e., Qubino Shutter), that you want to add to the remote, to start the inclusion process (for details, refer to the operating instructions of the device).
  4. After successful inclusion process, channel numbers of the newly added device, such as 1, 2, etc… will appear on the led display.
  5. If inclusion process fails, sign F will appear on the led display and the remote will exit the inclusion state.
    NOTE: In case there is a multichannel device (i.e., Qubino Shutter venetian mode) added to the remote, there is an empty channel assigned to the newly added device automatically, meaning each endpoint will be assigned to a new channel.

Z-WAVE EXCLUSION/RESET

Exclude/Remove device from remote

  1. Press and hold the + and – buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until sign A appears on led display, after that release the buttons.
  2. Pressing DOWN button triggers the exclusion device process, during which sign E flashes slowly for 20 seconds timeout. Pressing STOP button can stop the exclusion process.
  3. Trigger the device, that you want to remove from the remote, to start the exclusion process (for details, refer to the operating instructions of the device).
  4. After successful exclusion, the channel number of the excluded device, such as 1, 2… will appear on the display.
  5. If the excluded device does not belong to the remote, led will display n, indicating the excluded device belongs to another gateway.
  6. If inclusion process fails, sign F is displayed and the remote exits exclusion state.
    NOTE: If the excluded/removed device is a multichannel device, all remote channel corresponding to this device endpoint will be
    removed automatically.

FACTORY DEFAULT RESET

  1. Open the battery cover and remove one of the batteries.
  2. Press and hold the reset button above the battery cover.
  3. After you insert the battery back, the dot in the lower right corner of led display will flash slowly.
  4. When after 3 seconds the dot starts to flash quickly, release the reset button.
  5. When the factory default reset is successful, sign P appears on the display.
    NOTE: After factory reset, all included devices are cleared automatically.

Control single device:

  •  + or – button selects remote channel to be controlled, the corresponding channel number (such as 1) appears on the display;
  • UP button controls turn on/up operation;
  •  DOWN button controls turn off/down operation;
  • STOP button controls stop operation  (only valid for multilevel switch devices, for example dimmer/curtain/shutter); If the control fails, led displays F.

Control all devices together:

  •  Press and hold UP button for 3 seconds until the channel number and the dot in lower right corner start flashing on the display. This will send the desired command (on/up) to all the devices.

  • Press and hold DOWN button for 3 seconds until the channel number and the dot in lower right start flashing on the display. This will send the desired command (off/down) to all the devices.

  •  Press and hold STOP button for 3 seconds until the channel number and the dot in lower right corner start flashing on the display. This will send the desired command (STOP) to all the devices.

  • If the controlling channel fails, sign F will appear on the display.
    NOTE: If all the channels of the remote are empty, led will display 1 by default; if any of the remote channels has been removed, the empty channel will skip automatically while selecting.

  • Remote control automatically enters the sleep mode if there is no action for 3 seconds.
